      I had a dream that I had a bike and I remember it was a very fun dream and when I woke up I thought like damn it would be nice to have a motorcycle I could just go take a ride when I was bored or I could ride to my friend and now when I think about it I feel like that's like one of the most fun things so that's my story of how I got into motorcycling

Today i rode a bike for the first time in my life, for around 15 seconds all my dreams came true, until i fell off. • @ocb05

      It is your fear that trip you off. Panic sets in and your right hand is shaky and got stiff, and thus twisting the throttle in big swings. Try without your right hand; or even, learn how to ride a bicycle to get your balance straight first.

    • @TheOnlyGhxst
      @TheOnlyGhxst 4 года назад +1

      I just got my first ever bike today, and had similar issues. The first time I got on it and took off it went fine for a few seconds, then I tried to come to a stop, panicked, let go of the clutch, accidentally pulled the throttle down even harder, and ended up driving over a parking lot barrier and having the bike fall on me. It messed my leg up pretty badly but I got back on and did a few more laps around the parking lot, mostly sticking to 1st gear, ended up stalling it 5-10 times probably. The throttle is definitely way more twitchy than I imagined it being, and I'm not used to controlling the vehicles engine with my hand instead of foot. I think being relaxed and without fear is the biggest thing, when you're scared you become more twitchy and robotic. But yeah, now im definitely considering getting full safety equipment before my next practice session, a helmet is nice but that doesn't protect my legs or arms if the bike falls on me. The bike is a Honda Rebel 300 btw, if anyone is interested... got it brand new, had literally 0 miles on it when I left the dealership, and now it's already got some dents, scrapes, and pavement paint plastered on it xD

    One thing to note for someone’s very first ride is that a lot of bikes have a touchy throttle. In other words you don’t twist it until way later. It’s a very slight movement to get the rpms up enough to get going. How many videos have you seen of grandma twisting the throttle half open and dumping the clutch which then makes her body weight twist the throttle wide open...ending in disaster!

    • @TommyBarnezTV
      @TommyBarnezTV 5 лет назад +4

      I suggest people start by not even using the throttle. Just releasing the clutch to biting point. Most bikes will get moving without any throttle. Learning clutch control avoids the 'too much power' issue some new to riding have.

      There’s no possible way to get a cramp, I’ve ridden motorcycles for 20 years with riding daily to and from work for 3 years straight in rain and shine when I lived in Florida and have never gotten a cramp your legs aren’t hanging in the air nor is your foot so you’re not depending on your muscles in your legs to hold them up which would cause cramps. Your feet are resting on foot pegs and the positioning of your legs are actually resting on the tank and frame. If you have issues with circulation to where you get cramps easily, keep your body hydrated and drink plenty of water before riding and whenever you stop at a gas station.

    I bought myself a street and trail dirt bike last October. Suzuki DR650. Parents are completely fine with it (not that they have much say in what I do with my money). Now I just gotta take the course and get my license to drive it on the road. I'm also going to watch videos on here on how to drive one. My bike is going to be my vehicle for the summer. To all the people saying your parents aren't ok with it: unless you're using their money to buy the bike, they can't stop you from getting it. Your money, you decide what you wanna do with it. There are some people in my family who are/would be against me having a bike but they couldn't stop me from getting it. I worked my ass off all night at my job (I have a nighttime job) for months and when I had the money saved up, I went and bought my bike. Yes, respect your families wishes such as being careful and not driving on the highway if they're not comfortable with you too but don't let anyone stop you from getting something you want if you're paying for it. It would piss me off to no end if my parents would try and stop me from getting something I want if I'm paying for it. If you want something and you're paying for it, get it.

  • @nickisacebeans
    @nickisacebeans 5 лет назад +4

    A couple of things. I think learning how to stop safely is one of the first things to learn, if things start going wrong then being able to stop quickly without panicking is going to save a lot of pain and also give you confidence during learning. Secondly it's important to know not to snatch or grab the front brake, it needs to be firm but progressive to allow the weight of the bike to transfer to the front wheel thus maximising front tyre road contact and giving maximum braking performance and minimising front lockup risk.

    Okay.. So I know this video was uploaded in 2013, but I'm watching it in October 2017. I am from Pakistan. My elder brother is a Motorsport enthusiast. He currently owns a Toyota Supra as well as 2015 Kawasaki Z1000. He has previously owned one of the fastest 2JZ's in Pakistan and now settled in for his Supra as a daily driver, producing a round about of 500 to 600hp. That basically means that it does all the fireworks a tuner is known for but he is a mad rider as well. Started off with a Harley Davidson V Rod to Suzuki Hayabusa with extended wheel + brocks exhaust and now owning a Kawasaki Z1000 as his daily. I've never had interest in biking until recently and I'm willing to join his biking squad, but my riding experience is almost from 70cc to nothing at all since the past 5, 6 years of my life and I'm 23 by the way. I will be riding his street/sports bike soon and if everyone goes well, will be getting a Yamaha R6 or Suzuki GSXR 600 (just like the one in this video) very soon. Wish me luck, watching this video has definitely given me the motivation so I'll take this video and it's message into consideration the day I get on the seat of the Kawasaki. Thanks for the upload, it definitely motivated me to give riding a try!

    Watched this video back in 2016. I was terrified of riding any motorized two wheeled vehicle. You're video made me realize "oh it's not that bad" and I went out and bought a motorcycle. I'm still riding 5 years later. Thanks!

    dude im getting my first bike tomorrow and im juiced! I rode before(rode dirty) but it was for a short period of time and I kind of forgot. I watched this video as a refresher and I felt like I was the one riding that bike. Thorough video !

    Well last year on Valentine's Day I was in a bad accident riding my motorcycle (Honda cbr 250) where I was hit by a car from the back and injured my body all over. It destroyed my memory so I'm trying to learn again

      Celeste Albritton awe this is so sad...glad you're okay.
      Last year on valentines (2017) my brother took me for an hour ride to the harley i got a job at; 30deg and we were doing 100mph...raced someone on the way back, almlst swung out into a curb and also lost traction when a light turned red and the dude decides to just stop.
      It was a dumb thing...could have ended terrible. Will think twice next time for sure, and actually get myself proper gear.

    This actually helps me a lot because I’ve been looking at doing my CBT but I know I’m the UK there’s a lot of arsehole drivers which have been putting me off wanting to do it..but I’ve been thinking about getting a 125 after going on the back of my mates and I must say he sent me the link to this channel so thank you mate for showing us how to use the bike safely

    It’s the same principle as driving a manual car, if you have one you’ll adjust quickly
