He left the pro pelotón arrived home 🏡, and he has 5 kids and his wife has taken care of everything for the last 12years, when he was away 80% of the year , you think he would want to be home ? He decided to keep racing 🐎 hahahaha
Yes but remember. Lance was riding in 1993 in Europe winning tdf stages. In 2009 3rd in the Tdf. With cancer and 5 yrs out And for the world is a pariah
Cadel Evans??? Heralded as maybe the cleanest to ever compete, his results kinda back that claim. 2002 when he hit the protour scene we saw him have a good day then spend most of his time just hanging onto the back of those rocket fueled teams like Discovery, CSC, Phonack and Telecom. Once some big names got caught then we started seeing him move up a place or three and win some races, as for the 2011 tdf. Well Contador, Basso and Schlecks were under a cloud and clean or not Cadel totally ripped the legs of everyone in 2010-11 until SKY and their special medicine and inhalers showed up in 2012
@@ferventheat I don’t think so. Except for a few strong riders , most of them are evenly matched day to day..definitely not enough money in their sport to spend weeks at altitude
Aside from Quintana, Movistar's most successful rider of recent seasons, by far, was a female rider not even on their roster (until later). AmvV trained for years at camps with their men's squad and had full access to their doctors, before joining in '21. Odd arrangement.
Valverde and Paolo Bettini, very similar I've always felt. Oddly, a big fan too. I've always thought Bettini might have been asked to retire early, there was no reason for him to go when he did. Two WC, Olympic champ in Athens. Fact is, doping is endemic to sport, especially cycling. I'm sure you're familiar with the two book series of the history of the TdF, by Bill and Carol McGann, they show doping existed in the 1903 race and of course right through present day. I think there is a good video in that. From cocaine eye drops and amphetamines, to doping only being a time penalty even up into the 80s for certain infractions. Jacques Anquetil's comments on how it's not possible to race grand tours without drugs, Tom Simpson dying on Ventoux...
Would you invest in that team though if their structure remains the same? The men in charge have shown their incapability the last years to evolve along with the sport. No riders are getting significantly better and success stays out. With relegation looming. They're tactically often terrible and their serie showed an insight of how to not run a team. I'd like Movistar to do better I certainly do, but why invest into a team while the foundation is clearly rotten. Perhaps that doesn't scare off the Saudis as they're also investing billions upon billions into their NEOM project that seems created by a 12 year old with a lot of fantasy.
@@Legionarivss Well a team like Movistar who has leaders who are incompetent, then let the team collapse. Rabobank pulled out as sponsor thanks to a doping scandal or maybe there was more than one. So a new foundation was laid and new sponsors came in, and they have built from that. A team must be willing to adapt and learn new methods. Spain has sponsors and I am sure competent men to run a team.

He won a gravel race mate...much lower field strength vs UCI and higher technical demands. Having been there in amateur ranks age 43 physiology little different to age 37, and if on top of training and health, tactics can make up. He'll be stuffed by age 47 though, which is the cusp to the beginning of the true male aging decline. Yes, Spanish high doping frequency, so natural suspect by association, the age argument is weak.
This is a great platform for sad losers to vent with their clear proof everyone is doping all the time......jealousy is a great thing so i can laugh at those who burn with it😂😂😂😂
The big problem Movistar have is that, it is run by an old school director Unzue. His methods are too outdated and if he and the team wants to keep up be better be creative and think in new ways like Visma and UAE has with Pogacar who has hired two new trainers and it has really paid off for him. If I had a pro cycling team I would have two or three workers in front of computers, scanning the internet for new methods in training, resting, equipment, food etc. I sure hope they will face the facts soon and reinvent themselves.
Valverde must be obsessive crazy as shit. He won't quit until he dies. He's the Keith Richards of cyclists.
Great comparison
A lot of drugs but better whenever yrs passed and passed

Probably became crazy/insane due to all the products he took during his career. Permanently doped.
I suspect he retired and then immediately realized he could dope without limit and without worrying about testing. He is now living his dream!
When Alejandro was twelve years old he managed to win 100 races in a row!
I like his passion for the sport and all the riders are doped anyways
No doubt, he has a great engine to start with. The rest is training and … fine tuning
Well if everyone is doing it must be good.
I think that video about Christophe Bassons would be interesting.🤔
Always look forward to your commentary. How about Criquielion vs Bauer in a future video?
Thank you very much mate! Probably when worlds coming out
Valverde's consistency is legendary. Even if he is/was doping, he's got exceptional talent to have such longevity.

Do the women dope? Just curious. Maybe there's not enough money in the sport yet to make it pervasive.

How about the Badger at the Giro?

It is amazing how far Movistar’s, star has fallen.
Didn’t he sit out for two years on suspension and quietly retuned?
