    idk if it's true in modern RC but a long time ago I read that electric motor rotation speed is limited by voltage and rotation torque is limited by amps. so that could explain why you were getting more torque but similar top end. as that particular 2s had similar voltage as your NiMH but more mAh. I'm curious if a brushless motor would exaggerate the gap between the two batteries.

    • @ReadytoRunRC

      The stock motors on these are known to not last very long and the lipo’s definitely shorten the life even more. I replaced mine with a cheap brushless setup from goolrc. I made a video of it and it’s on my channel if you want to check it out. I haven’t ran it much after I made the video because I’m constantly getting knew stuff in to unbox and check out. Then i assume the motor was broken because it wasnt a new one . and bought another one , same scenario happened , it ran for a few and stopped working again and same smell . I do not want to replace another motor without figuring out what the ISSUE might be .

    I have this truck, have a stock nimh battery in it, what are ways I can make it faster without worrying about breaking it or overheating? Brushless? Is that hard to make it brushless and requires a lot of money? I want it to be a little faster, not a ton, and not sure what to do. Also, I just snapped a drive shaft in it, should I get aluminum drive shafts and the upgraded metal shocks, would that make a difference in ground clearance and performance? Thanks!

    • @ReadytoRunRC
      @ReadytoRunRC  5 лет назад

      The 3S will make it run hotter. If you want some more overall speed without spending a lot of money, you can change the spur gear and pinion gear ratio. Putting a bigger toothed pinion gear and a smaller toothed spur gear will give you a higher top speed but it will slow your accelerating speed a little. Yes get the upgraded drive shaft. Upgraded shocks will help the performance and could change the ground clearance. I am getting upgraded shocks and will be putting them on soon and making a video about them.

      I wouldn't run an adapter on such a high voltage vehicle. It's fine on a small 1/18 but adapters can't handle much current and will catch fire or burn up. You should saughter on a new connector or get a shop to do it

      Did you get a 2200 mah battery or was it a higher mah because if it’s a higher mah it will be bigger.

    • @snotrockits
      @snotrockits 2 года назад

      @@ReadytoRunRC yeah, it was the 2200. Unfortunately it just barley overshoots by a couple of mm. I even returned and reordered them to see if it was a batch-fluke, and the most recent ones were even longer, so it may very well be a crap-shoot. My guess is that this brand gets cells as they can from the cell manufacturer (no fault of thiers). I ended up going with shorter / taller brand, and having it sit on its side. Raises the CG a little, but otherwise is fine, although I had to right a Velcro strap and foam wedge to keep it in place.
      Thanks for the follow up!

      @@snotrockits ok. The other thing I was thinking was Ovonic has one for air and one for car. The one for air is a little longer than the ones for car. But maybe they did change the dimensions which isn’t good for people looking for the same size I have. I did the Velcro strap too. I cut a slot in the chassis to run the strap through.
