@@OverBudgetRC night and day difference for sure over your basic 70w iron from home depot. I would still reccomend having a weller soldering gun on hand though.
Crazy that you are putting a brushless into this with no structural upgrades. Ive driven mine only 2 times with the stock motor and broke it both times. I guess i just drive way to hard.
This is part 1 of this build😁 it will be getting a lot of upgrades. Im actually surprised you broke it stock its so slow I didn't break anything on it. I was jumping it too
i have to tell you something. my dad baught me a teton when i was 6 i started having fun whit it and then all of a sudden when i am driving in a puddle it died that was wen i was 8 so he got me a bruchless combo. he installs it and when i tutched the gas on the trans it blew the both diffs caus they were plastic he got me metall ones and it worked so good wen i was oround 10 i charched my lipo and it was in the car. boom it exploded and my tire was gon. the same year i blew the motor and then i got the brushless combo thats in your car and it har held up four 3 years
On the weller soldering gun, loosen the hex set screws that hold the tip and retighten them. Soldering iron fixed. It's a bad connection from the heat cycles.
I didn’t cut the connector off as I wanted as much wire as I could have so I took a hammer and hit the stock connector until it cracked and then just kind of peeled it off. Just so I’m not crazy, the stock Teton receiver cover does not fit over this ESC perfectly? It flairs out just a bit for you as well. Please advice. Thanks again
Thank you There are videos about it I have one a long time ago about it on a rustler. But basically it is the gap between the pinion and spur gear. If its too close it will bind and slow you down and heat up the electronics. If its too far it will strip out the gears. So an easy way to set it is get a strip of printer paper put it between the gears push the motor towards the spur gear tighten down to motor then you can remove the paper and it should be set.
So you can run my motor on 3s lipo which would be 56,700 rpm on 3s and the 7200kv motor can only run 2s but it would be 60,480 rpm so that motor has the potential to be faster but my motor would have more torque and and could be geared higher so that could end up being faster overall. So its hard to say. My motor would have more torque and would run cooler and if you look at my latest video I hit 50mph with it.
For a while now I've been looking at the MAMBA MICRO X EXTREME 1:18 combo. but it's 124 and this is significantly cheaper!! I wonder if there is any benefit or advantage to the more expensive one though. I'm sure it's not worth it.
I don't think so the only time I've paid to get a castle system was for a crawler and LMT because I do like the sensored setups but other I run Hobbywing all the time I have never had an issue.
In this video thats what I used but it was upgraded later to this hot racing one amzn.to/3DLuhuS I'm still working on editing the videos but I'm moving soon and have just been packing after work
I have the same ESC, but was told the 2445 size 5400kv motor would be too much for it and everything would get way too hot. I messed up. Would it be best to get the Hobbywing 2435 4500kv? How well has this system ran for you? Longevity wise. I'm only gonna go for 2s.
Im not sure about the 2445 size motor this one has been fine it does get hot but I run 3s. But this was a package deal meant to run 3s. I figured it would get hot but still be ok. The 2445 might be ok on 2s but I'm not sure and I wouldn't want it to get messed up for you. So I'm really not sure how that would work out. I have also seen people run this esc on 2s with a 7000kv motor in a Teton and it was fine. But I'm not sure the size of the motor sorry.
@@OverBudgetRCI took it safe and ordered the HW 4500kv 2435 to match the ESC. I almost ordered their 60a ESC, but....no. Didn't want the complication for now. This 30a ESC is more water resistant and actually fits.
Lol the worst part was I got the soldering gun to work again after I bought the new one. It was a loose connection to the tip i had to replace the couplers. But I like the new one better anyways so I guess it works out
Bro do you know me I had told you to upload letrax teton brushless upgrade video iam waiting for it you done it 👍 thankyou so much love you bro
You're welcome sorry it took me so long I kept running into issues with this build.
@@OverBudgetRC it's ok but Iam so happy now ❤️❤️
Take 1 take 2 thanks guy now I know keep em coming
Been wanting to grab one of these and do exactly this gonna have a small rc track once we move. Think time to order!
Ya that would be cool its a fun little rc
I need a part 2 you r helping me soooo much thx u
Thank you. Perfect timing thats the next video I'm posting right now.

Nice build dude 👍
Thank you
@@OverBudgetRC your very welcome
Love my hakko, had it for years now but soldering larger gauge high current wire can be a pain in the ass
So far it has been awesome I should have bought this a long time ago

The off brand motor shafts and traxxas pinion gears have this issue for the latrax. So I’ve heard.
Ya i ended up using a team associated pinion my problem was I thought it was 48 pitch but its mod .5
Part number for that pinion?

Wow that's good this system has held up that sucks you had all those problems along the way though.
On the weller soldering gun, loosen the hex set screws that hold the tip and retighten them. Soldering iron fixed. It's a bad connection from the heat cycles.
Ya I ended replacing them they wouldn't tighten anymore so it works again but I do like the new soldering iron better thanks.

Ya this esc is bigger and it doesn't fit perfectly.
One question, when you say "adjusting the gear mesh" what exactly are you looking for when adjusting it?
Great video, very helpful!
Thank you

Awesome, thanks for the followup. I've got a new motor in the mail and can't wait to swap it out!
Is the connector that you soldered comes with the kit or it is from the stock?
I bought it separate there should be a link in the description
thank you. I was planning to upgrade my motor and ESC that's why I asked. Thanks for your video BTW.@@OverBudgetRC
Do you chew up diff gears? I have to replace them everything I use my teton. I'm so bummed
I never had a problem while I had it. But I've sold it a couple months ago.
@overbudgetrc what brand is the adapter holder you have there the anodized orange one ?
I just got one on Amazon like this one

Which is better, your motor or BL motor 2430 4 poles 7200w?

did you use stock spur gear with the 16 tooth pinion
