Hey PC, I have an idea for a challenge that may prove interesting and/or fun. Dream Team Challenge. Pick 6 of your favorite pokemon or a theme etc, transfer them to a game or game shark them in at level 5 and complete the game with only those 6 pokemon. Rules: - No catching pokemon, you can only use the 6 you start with and their evolutions. No transfers, trades, gifts etc - If a Pokemon faints, its boxed or released and removed from the team. - I know you dont like to over level in your challenges. So no over leveling the next gym. -No items in battle. (Held items okay) -Nicknaming of course. Optional rules: -Pokemon chosen must be under a certain base stat when fully evolved. (For instance no pokemon over 500 base stat total) to prevent pseudo sweep which wouldn't be fun. -Added type restrictions to keep strong typing off the team such as dragon or steel. Feel free to add any other rulings, just figured this would be a fun run to try out. Planning an entire game around 6 pokemon instead of growing a team over time.
big root is good on Torterra since leech seed is basically better than mega drain due to Torterra's low special attack in comparison to its phys, where something like earthquake or strength would be far better but you still want it to have some HP regen.

If you play the variation of Nuzlockes where you can only get EXP from trainers and you're not allowed to grind wild Pokémon at all, the Lucky Egg is C tier at least since there's a finite amount of EXP in the game to get.

@@samsungtab3977 They absolutely do. Those moves still have a base power like any other move, the base power just changes. Power boosting items still boost them like they would boost any other move.
You forgot the arceus plates items such as the mind plate which increases Psychic type attacks and for arceus it changes it to whatever plate it holds and changes the move judgement to whatever plate it holds
Re Eject Button Single Use, and for Nuzlocke purposes, somewhat awkward, as you need to be guaranteeing you outspeed the opponent if you want some damage (and can't OHKO them on the free switch). Otherwise what happens is they go first, you tank the hit, and are forced into switching into another mon, which gives you a 'free switch' but you've sacrificed damage and hp on one mon to do so, so it's sort of a break-even as now that pokemon is without an item, and damaged. Think of it in the way that if you could just pivot through immunities, there's very little incentive to use the Eject button. Useful in competitive though for obvious reasons on particular sets, but I don't think its of any significance in Nuzlockes.
Exp share is partially utility though. Like the split exp on gym leaders is a niche rule, and it really makes or breaks this item into which category it fits into. If you play with set levels, no overleveling allowed during battles, you have to calc that into your team comp, if you do allow it, it goes from utility to strategy. But again, that's hardly a generally accepted rule so I get why some would just call it utility. I swap out my mon and force it to stay out of the battle even if it overlevels in the battle, it makes elite four really challenging.
I would definitely put focus band a tier lower. At least in a Nuzlocke. Its a 10% chance to activate ONCE. Because if it doesnt, that mon is dead. Brightpowder is 10% every turn. I think King's Rock may actually be slightly higher than brightpowder, same tier though, due to its synergy with skill link. Ive definitely had a lot of use out of skill link + king's rock Cincinno. Also maybe Cell Battery top of C. Its the same as Absord Bulb, sure, but in Gen 5 you get access to it right before the 4th gym, which is Electric, and you dont really have very many good item options at that point. Its the only one of those types of items I've actually used, and used more than once at that. I feel like Red Card should be higher. It can be used to status a mon that you normally wouldn't even be able to come in on a shut them down completely or stop a run ending sweep, especially if paired with Sturdy. Very underrated item. Id put it on the same level as Air Balloon for sure.
Not sure how viable this is in nuzlockes because I don't know whether you can reliably get a team that makes it work, but I've been getting a ton of value out of heat rock Torkoal into Solarbeam. Lead with Torkoal, switch into chlorophyll Venusaur with Solarbeam, sweep anything weak to grass.
Stat raising pinch berries are great on fast mons with Sub, slow tanky mons especially with battle armor, they have so much utility. It's like a 1 use of an X item that doesn't take a turn a lot of the times, and you can farm them if and when you get the early.

Hey PC, I have an idea for a challenge that may prove interesting and/or fun. Dream Team Challenge.
Pick 6 of your favorite pokemon or a theme etc, transfer them to a game or game shark them in at level 5 and complete the game with only those 6 pokemon.
Rules:
- No catching pokemon, you can only use the 6 you start with and their evolutions. No transfers, trades, gifts etc
- If a Pokemon faints, its boxed or released and removed from the team.
- I know you dont like to over level in your challenges. So no over leveling the next gym.
-No items in battle. (Held items okay)
-Nicknaming of course.
Optional rules:
-Pokemon chosen must be under a certain base stat when fully evolved.
Fun fact Deep Sea Tooth Clamperl using shell smash reached 800 atk (to make a comparison Zacian Crowned only has 438 atk unboosted)
PchalDaily was a blessing. This too!
It would have been nice to have descriptions of them all so I didn't have to look them up to follow along, but good assessments, much appreciated!
he said what they do before he ranked them.
big root is good on Torterra since leech seed is basically better than mega drain due to Torterra's low special attack in comparison to its phys, where something like earthquake or strength would be far better but you still want it to have some HP regen.
Okay this isn't related but I'm like 90% sure that background music is "Lofi for Ghosts" here on RUclips. I love that video so much, it was my saving grace freshman year
22:03 Hello, man from the future here, shell bell is finally good in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet raids.
"Shell Bell is so outclassed"
MahDryBread would like to know your location
Love your vids I’ve been addicted to them recently
In case you ever feel stupid, I _sold_ the Leftovers in my first XY playthrough because I just thought it was some litter. I went something like “Stupid litterbugs couldn’t be bothered to find a trash can. How do I throw it out?”
I hadn’t heard of the phrase “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
PC:
*Puts Leppa Berry in F tier*
Also PC:
*Abuses it with Slowbro in EK*
toxic orb + poison heal + leech seed breloom is actually viable in a lot of romhacks.
Thanks for the content Jan
If you play the variation of Nuzlockes where you can only get EXP from trainers and you're not allowed to grind wild Pokémon at all, the Lucky Egg is C tier at least since there's a finite amount of EXP in the game to get.
VS Seeker and phone calls for rematches is a thing...
@@AlldaylongRock not in every game
Leppa berry F tier
*Laughs in Nurse, EK MVP*
AT 78 gunna be the best one yet
Did something happen? He looks like he pulled an all nighter something and was only able to sleep for 30 minutes
The “pulling” of the items after Jan puts them in the tier as they are spoken about makes me chuckle.
I love Pokémon Challenges’s tier list. His relentless criticism of useless stuff is just hilarious.
"Safety goggles is good in competitive."
Me: What the hell are you tal-
*remembering wolfey won the national championship with safety goggles*
25:00 that item can make Toxtricity terrifying
you underrated scope lens for later gens imo. It guarantees crits in combination with a crit-boosting move and max happiness.
Have you ever heard of Pokémon XG it’s an XD rom hack. I’d love to see Jan play it bc of the challenge of constant double battles
"Emerald but I made all of my Pokemon AWFUL" this video idea is super cool and i officially request more
Honestly I subscribed solely because I thought the threat against the sloth was hilarious. I enjoy the videos too but the threat was what pushed me over to the sub button.
It's nice that gen 9 makes getting all these items way easier. I hope they make consumeable hold items not cosumed after battle and easier to get in the future make going through the game more interesting
Do a "nuzlocke youtuber to react to" tier list
I like how he’s like “I don’t know what I’m doing but I’ll just cope Wolfe.”
After all this time, I never knew that the exp share was a neuro headpiece. I thought it was a fancy looking crown for most of my life.
“You don’t really play against entry hazards in nuzlocks” Glacia would beg to differ
Leppa berries are mainly useful if you're not allowed to use pokemon centers or other healing places and need to go through a gauntlet of trainers or w/e due to the fact you can just spam leppa berries.
Question: Can you boost moves like Return with held items?
Silk Scarf, Life Orb, Choice Band, etc.
Those for example. Do they still boost moves like these?
@@samsungtab3977 They absolutely do. Those moves still have a base power like any other move, the base power just changes. Power boosting items still boost them like they would boost any other move.
Thanks, I was just wondering.
@@samsungtab3977 no problem, man
You forgot the arceus plates items such as the mind plate which increases Psychic type attacks and for arceus it changes it to whatever plate it holds and changes the move judgement to whatever plate it holds
Same category as the type boosting items like Silk Scarf essentially. And Arceus is event only. Unless you cheat or use a randomizer and encounter it.
Re Eject Button
Single Use, and for Nuzlocke purposes, somewhat awkward, as you need to be guaranteeing you outspeed the opponent if you want some damage (and can't OHKO them on the free switch).
Gets hard carried by Leppa Berry Slowbro in EK Elite 4, proceeds to put Leppa Berry in F Tier
I'm so biased towards choice specs
I have a max IV Chandelure and its my sweet monster :)
i didn't know about the deep sea tooth and scale buffing clampearl. that's niche but nifty.
In scralet and violet single use items are recovered after a battle aka if you consumed eject button you will get it back after the battle
Yeah that was one of the best changes they made, would have probably impacted this tier listq
Don’t hurt the sloth
This comment is good for the RUclips algorithm
Don't hurt the sloth
Lol at Jan putting Leppa in F tier. Literally what won him Emerald Kaizo
I'd love to see a tier list on moves as well, hearing your opinions given your experience is such a good time for me
Drapion + Sniper + Scope Lens = a monster
It's niche man that's all
It dosent even garunteed crits
Something with focus energy scope lense crits would be good like maybe an unfeazant with super luck
@@milesandrews6711 or sniper kingdra. Also, drapion can run STAB night slash.
@@slendveny7191 night Slash dosent give garunteed crit tho so it's still inconsistent without something like focus energy
@@milesandrews6711 but it's impossible to guarantee a crit without moves like night slash, wicked blow, stone edge, etc.
@@slendveny7191 that's why it's niche man, the fact that you can't garuntee the crits is what makes super niche which is why you need something like focus energy plus high crit chance move
Eviolite: pre gym 3 in all gen 5 games
I've been playing too much pokemon showdown, and forgot that a lot of items have other uses not just for battling
The only thing I'd change is I'd pure Life Orb at the very bottom of A tier. Brilliant item with a significant drawback, but one of the best easily.
It's kinda broken on something with Magic Guard and on a Pokemon that can pull off Sheer Force abuse. They get all the benefits with none of the drawbacks.
