    That's badass. The match up....nice parts ....light for not having the lightest parts. Im getting ready to do a ardor that was abandoned....frame is 4 lbs.9oz.....was thinking it will weight about the same as your build.but with a dropper n furious fred type tires..xx drive train. Sid...roam 50 aluminum. So light a 36 is fine.

    Nice Job- as promised 24lbs!!!! Do you have a brake down of the high end parts?

    • @Onkelrico
      @Onkelrico  Год назад +1

      Thanks You for watching! Unfortunately I do not have a breakdown of parts used…. most of them were from my spares bin and are no longer available to purchase. I’ll do it on the next one! Planning on building a new Carbon Habit this year.

    What fork did you use? What are the specs? Looking to upgrade my daughters 2021 Fusion 10 and want to start with the forks. Looking for something light that won’t break the bank. After the fork is replaced what else should I look at replacing to shave some weight? What will have the biggest impact/cost.

    • @Onkelrico
      @Onkelrico  Год назад +1

      2022 Manitou R7 PRO. I actually have another video in the works where I did exactly what you’re planning to do! Taking a stock Fusion 10 and only upgrading what I think is the most important, without braking the bank. Stay tuned for that.

      @@Onkelrico What size type of headset I need for a taper fork and can I upgrade to 10 speed? On stock fusion 10

    • @Onkelrico
      @Onkelrico  Год назад

      @larryflemon for this frame you will need a headset with ZS44 upper with a ZS56 lower. Wheels use a standard Shimano HG freewheel body, so you can upgrade with 10,11 and even some 12 speed cassettes that use the HG interface.

    Can this run a internally routed dropper post and what is the max suspension travel allowed on thw frame?

    • @Onkelrico
      @Onkelrico  Год назад +1

      Yes, it can run a dropper post, I left the caps that cover the holes for the cables in place as I don’t plan to run one. Not sure about the max travel. At 120mm my R7 has the same axle to crown measurement as the original 100mm fork that it replaced…..

    Hi I just bought a Norco storm 3 it could do with a new derailer with a clutch do you have any recommendations?

    • @Onkelrico
      @Onkelrico  Год назад

      Box 3 Prime would be the best bang for your buck if you don’t want to spend a premium. I’m also a big fan of Shimano 1x11 XT, Deore and SLX. 🍻

      @ondrejmanych5688 Год назад +1

      Yeah, I just put Deore 11sp mech and XT shifter on my Kona. Also Advent X from microshift is great if you dont need 11sp.@@Onkelrico @tristanedwards7521

    What adapters did you use for the thru axle rear wheel on QR frame?

    • @Onkelrico
      @Onkelrico  Год назад +3

      Industry Nine has a bunch of different end caps available for their hubs. I used 10x135 adapters. (TKMA12 TORCH - MTN - RR - 10x135 Endcap Kit (TAX633 + TAX634) and a DT Swiss 10x135mm thru bolt skewer (RWS 10 ALU THRU BOLT 135MM/Ø10MM

      @@Onkelrico I got my RM Fusion 30 a month or two ago and I have been looking at upgrades! I've only added a dropper post. Im super new to mtb but thank you for making this video!! what do you think I should upgrade next ?

    • @Onkelrico
      @Onkelrico  Год назад +2

      @@davidnavarrete4510 Upgrades can quickly become a rabbit hole. It all depends on how you’re using your bike. Components wise I suggest to only upgrade what’s breaking for now. Performance wise going tubeless with tires that suit where and how you ride, saddle, pedals, grips, etc. are quick and affordable upgrades that can make spending time on the bike more comfy resulting in you wanting to ride more….

      @ondrejmanych5688 Год назад +1

      It depends. High end Sram is very cool. Low end is not that good and it is usually better to go with something else.
