I am buying this bike for $636 and was really pleased with this review. Lots of options to upgrade and I think I will be happy to leave my REI DRT 1.1 behind. Thank you!
Picked up a Fusion 30 last weekend. I haven't rode a mountain bike in almost 20 years, but I still remember the last one I had. Its night and day really in comparison technology wise. 1x drive trains are really nice. I don't miss my 3x front derailler. I feel spoiled. I like mountain bikes for the versatility of being able to ride on different terrain. I've rented a fat bike 2 times already but wanted to buy a mountain bike instead because I found the fat bike a bit clunky even though I enjoyed that ride too. Never actually done challenging trails with them though. Can't wait to take it camping as there are a few light trails to take it on. My budget was around $1500 CAD so I feel like I got my money's worth even though I'm no bike expert. A bike expert might want upgrades seeing as they know more about whats available and would either go higher up or tweak their ride further. I'm not too picky though. Again I feel spoiled. Love the orange and black color too.
Now, September 2023, I found the Fusion 10 2022 at $450usd in a sale. I think i could bought it to replace my GT Avalanche comp 29 that have few years (3x9 drivetrain). I use it as my commuter, and to explore rural roads
I'm in the market for a bike like this. I'm not a hardcore bike enthusiast but I don't want to use any Canadian Tire no name brand bikes anymore. I'm looking to buy Canadian... I think? So I definitely have my eye on a Rocky Mountain bike. I think I'm going to check out a few bike shops in my area tomorrow.
hello, excellent video! I would like to know its size and for a height of 1.60, do you think size S would be too small?🙏🏻I'm planning to buy it, but I'm afraid the size will be too small.
That isn't an obvious answer: you'll want to figure out what you're trying to achieve with the upgrade: adjustability, plushness, durability, weight and your budget. Keep in mind for any upgraded fork, it will require switching your front wheel (or hub) to a thru-axle style.
Hi, thanks for watching. The 2 major improvements on the Fusion 30 are the fork and gearing. The fork on the 30 is stiffer and uses an air spring (as opposed to a much less adjustable coil spring) so it makes the bike better suited for either rougher riding or a rider who is above average weight (can use the air spring to adjust suspension to work better for a heavier rider). As for the gearing, it goes from 9 speed on the Fusion 10 to 10 speed on the Fusion 30. The important part of this is the additional gear is an easier gear - so if you're in an area with some steeper climbs that may be a struggle with the Fusion 10, that same climb may be a bit more rideable on the Fusion 30. Hope that helps.
I think for most people, just stepping up to the next model is best if the budget has room. For some people, however, it seems upgrades are half the fun ( and the fork they may choose to upgrade to would be a few levels better than the next model up).
It’s upgradable right ? Just curious I just bought this bike and I’m looking at 120mm better suspension right now as I’m 280 lbs and I don’t feel like bending these ones
Yea I seen that and the 10 is using a 1 1/8 reducer the fork must be a straight tube and not tapered ? I haven’t pulled it out but I’m about to pull the trigger on a 120mm travel with remote lockout and some bigger stanchioms before I’m walking hkme
@@tylerjodoin1633 the frame should be just fine. Unless your looking to do some crazy stuff I would save money and get better components on a nice hardtail.
@@BikeBrosBikeShop I have seen that same frame unfortunately on a frame wholesale site. So idk if Rocky Mountain which is a really good Canadian brand is producing it's frames? The only Canadian produced product that i run that i could find is Blackspire.
@@davegravitt210 if you're thinking Rocky is using catalog frame, I'm pretty certain they aren't. While Rocky uses outsourced frame manufacturers, that is the case for virtually every bike brand out there ( with the exception of Giant and Marin who are two of the only brands are actually manufacturers as well as brands). The frames out there that look like Rockies ( or like many other original frame designs from well-known brands) are often copies that aren't of the same material, quality, dimensions.
@@BikeBrosBikeShop Do a follow up then. I ride GT. They have tonnes of frame cross overs with frames. My Verb shares it's frame with a 3500$ Mongoose actually. The only non crossover i have seen is my Avalanche. Even my bmx has a crossover with another brand.
Realistically, square taper is fine until you start riding more aggressively or jumping . That can result in rounding out the square taper portion of the crank... though doesn't necessarily happen. Also, square taper cranks can come loose, though that doesn't necessarily happen either. In summary, square taper isn't necessarily bad but can sometimes have issues.
I am wondering how long you would talk about everything other than the subject. There is nothing of substance in this attempted review. But I like Canadians so, Thanks.😊
Oh, I could probably go longer. Many people seem to like the attempted reviews as they tend to cover things differently than "reviews" to give extra information to people trying to figure out potential new bikes from home.
I just got the Fusion 10 2023 model..(red and black)..Its one of the best hard tail frames out there for climbing...Love it
The most thorough Rocky Mountain Fusion 10 review on RUclips describing current specs and future upgradability! Thank you very much @bikebros
Glad it was helpful!

Can you do a review on a 2022 Rocky Mountain growler 50
Hi, the reviews are dependant on receiving inventory, then having the bike for a few days before it sells... still waiting for some models this year.

@@BikeBrosBikeShop 🙋🏻 and it's a easy path to upgrade if you wait for the right offer. I think the bike can stand 120mm fork without problem
Are you able to install a rear child seat on this bike?
Sorry I couldn't tell you for sure. It may depend on the model but we don't sell any child carriers so I can't add any insight
are the brakes hydrolic
Yup
Can it run 12 speed on this bike?
You could. It would require a new cassette, chain, derailleur and shifter but there is nothing about the bike that would prevent you from doing that
I almost pulled the trigger on one until I saw that old school headset it comes with. “ loose bearings “ in 2022
