How Plaster Reacts to Exposure to Weather

  • I have know about this issue for a long time. Before I started this casting mess I ordered some plaster yard art from Ebay and was dissipointed to see how quickly it started to deteriate. Since then I have made much outside yard art and even though I never left it un treated I still suffered with the errosion. Lets see where this video takes us! I know there are many inovators out there much smarter than me. so boys and girls tell me what you think.     I wonder if boat sealer (polyurethane) would work on it.

      I have used that with the same results as sealer and paint. Might help if it was soaked for awhile in the poly.

    What if you mix p a glue into your plaster mix? That might strengthen and waterproof your plaster cast and then seal it

      Sounds interesting. Might work for small items. I'll have to see.
