Throwing WILD clay goes sideways

- I dug some clay up out of the little river in Zebulon, NC. I wanted to see how it threw, and I was surprised and a little disappointed all at the same time. Throwing wild clay has been on my list of things to do for a long time and I am happy to have done it. I want to go hunting for different clay and see if I find something I really love.
I think the clay is lacking in larger clay particles, but I don't really know what to do to this clay to make it better. I want to see how it does in the kiln before I add anything to the clay. Let me know in the comments what you think it needs?

So looking forward to seeing your journey with this! I had construction done that tore up my whole backyard and ended up getting a TON of wild clay out of it (It has to be at least 8 5-gallon buckets worth, I haven't stored it all away yet). I've been scouring the internet on how to process and fire it ever since.
The composition of this clay looks super similar to mine (I'm in NJ), really elastic and soft. It works so well with hand-building, but it collapsed when I worked with it on the wheel. Did you put any sand/temper in it? From what I understand, it could possibly help prevent cracking when drying/firing and also help provide structure so it isn't so floppy when throwing
Nice! Would like to see how it looks after firing.
I am definitely going to show it after it's fired. I am going to run some tests and figure out what the firing range is.
Can't wait to see it fired!! Fire it soon!
That video should be put in the next 2 weeks. I can't wait to see it.
Those look very nice!
I am really happy with them. I should have them through the kiln soon so the update should be interesting.
