Little House on the Prairie was my “go to escape” when I lost my only son in 2011. But in 1974 when I was going through a rough time as a child dealing with abuse from family member, makes the show even more special This show is connected to my broken heart in so many directions. I found myself running to this show series once again when I was going through advanced stages of ovarian cancer last year. I feel like I grew up with cast members. Especially being the same exact age as Melissa Gilbert. Michael Landons work had such a profound impact on so many of us. Thank you for sharing this clip. I’m planning to go to Simi for the 50th reunion in March 2024! Number one on my bucket list! 🎉
So sorry for all that you have endured during your lifetime. I am glad that you found solace in watching the show. I wish you peace and contentment going forward.
I have such fond memories of watching 'Little House on the Prairie' as a child. It was a show that instilled good family values in kids. However, watching the TV series again as adult in 2023, is like watching a completely new and different show. There were a lot of things, I did not understand at the time. We have changed and live in a different era of social media and the internet. One thing is how many times, the family came close to hardship and hunger and how they rose up to meet those challenges and survive. The show takes you back to a time when life was simpler.... Everyone on the show is smiling.
Wow. I grow up watching the show. I thought she was so beautiful back in the day, and sure still seems to be. I didn't know much about her besides the Little House on the Prairie show. Very interesting. She sure is doing good ❤
I loved Little House On the Prairie ! I watched it as a kid! The other one, was in a movie where she was buried Alive. That was a good movie! I liked her on theBrady Bunch, even though she was only on for a few minuets. Michael Landon was a nice guy. I loved him on Highway to Heaven!
Miss watching Melissa Acton. She was the best beautiful girl on little horse. Watch little horse today. Here acting is excellent as well as other shows, sure miss her on television. Sure hope All is going good for the woman theses days, and her family, Respectfully Mike Ramos.
Little House on the Prairie will go down in TV History as one of my favorite Shows! I had such a huge crush on Melissa Sue Anderson aka Mary Ingalls! Can't Say I blame Her for getting out of Hollywood spotlight! It can really be a Big Mouse Trap! I hated it when She left the show and It was never the same without Her! Glad Family Life is going Great for Her! She gets More and More Beautiful Every time I see any updates on Her!
The Three with Mary Ingalls I would say would be Season Three's "I'll Ride The Wind" Followed By Season Four's "Times of Change" and "Whisper Country" To me these Three Stories brought out a lot of her character! Thank-You! and God Bless!
Is it me or is it that very first black & white picture of a little girl Melissa Gilbert? That picture looks much more like Melissa Gilbert than Melissa Sue Anderson
Every Wednesday night had to go right to bed afterwards I love Little House on the prairie they need to put more shows like that out again maybe it bring the family unit back together😊
I absolutely loved Midnight Offerings! It was so weird as a child for me to see 2 wholesome role actresses (Marion Ross from Happy Days was also in it) play such evil characters 🙂
The other wholesome young actress was Mary Elizabeth McDonough, who played Erin Walton on The Waltons. She played the good girl, who also had powers, too.
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc Yes! I haven’t seen it since they aired it on tv when I was a kid & the most shocking to me was Mrs Cunningham 🤣 they had to have picked the cast for shock value
I was a big fan of the show. It was one of the few tv series i remember watching during its original run. I even read the series. Melissa's character was familar to me, being the child of a blind mother, who went to a school for the blind for entire schooling.
@@FactsVerse its been quite a while since I watched the series, but moments I still remember. Nellie getting karma for her bullying, and Mary's time at the blind school are standouts.
Yes I also grew up watching Little House. It was my first prime time show that I got hooked on as a kid I was only 10yrs old when it premiered, I think in1974. My Parents and my brother and me used to watch Little House Monday Nights at 7pm at our kitchen table while we ate dinner. Yes even my Dad watched it while we ate dinner every Monday night. I definitely had a big crush on Melissa back then. And if your wondering, Yes we did have a good size color TV in our kitchen in 74 which was just becoming a thing..but many people still only had B & W.. Stuart C
I met her briefly when she was filming the pilot movie James At 15 in my neighborhood. We had just started talking when her mom pulled her away saying they had to go. She looked back at me and rolled her eyes. Seemed she was embarrassed by her mom’s actions. At that point I decided to go home. Problem was they were parked in front of my house, so it must have looked like I was following them. Her mom kept looking back at me.
She always seemed like an outcast or seperate from the Little House cast. I wonder if it was because she didn't party like the rest & prefered to focused on family life. I love her in Happy Birthday To Me!
I think it’s because two of her fellow stars have viciously bullied her for 50 years. She is kind and generous about them, but they continue their mean girls comments.
I really loved everyone on that show, but Mary Ingalls, the Olesons and Mr. Edwards were my favorite characters on Little House. I've spotted Melissa in various things since then, she's so beautiful and talented, but I totally respect her decision to put her family first.
Definitely! We feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
Not that I know Melissa Sue Anderson but it's been a well-known fact that her mother did not want her hanging around with Melissa half-pint or Allison Nelly. Her mother thought they were bad influences. I don't know much about her but I have a feeling that she probably did not have the best home life whatever that equates to or she might just lack empathy. She is a good actress. Interestingly enough, she plays a better villain more believable than the believable Mary Ingalls. The made-for-tv movie is called Midnight Offerings. Melissa plays most popular girl in her senior class who's also the varsity head cheerleader. With that identity she covers the fact that she is a power dark witch. Her performance is stellar as compared to her performance as goody Two-Shoes Mary Ingalls. Need to watch it so you can see her in action.
I read her book did not find it insightful into her life at all. It read more like a biography just facts no emotion or glimpses into her real life outside of the show. And also I've read most of the little house cast memoirs, she did not connect with any of the children on the show.
But that’s okay. Maybe she was bitter because she was forced into acting and didn’t want it at the time. And, not everyone has to have the same bubbly personality. At least she’s consistent. How many celebs act nice for the TV and then we find out later who they really are?
Little house on the prairie was and is the best. They should have more shows like it. Maybe the world would be better then what it is. I love and still watch little house today. ❤
