I was extremely happy to see Melissa Anderson on. She really did make Little House awesome. I would love to see more of her in future podcasts. I’m anxiously awaiting Matt (Albert)…hoping he’s on sometime.
So great to see Melissa Sue Anderson. It's hard to find her so this is a great treat. EXCELLENT storytelling, acting, etc! I wish Mary had gotten her sight back; I never understood that. After the tremendous acting Meliissa Sue Andeson did, there should've been more scenes to keep her in. But overall, to be able to watch a "WHOLESOME" tv show in 2024, that was created years ago is a blessing!!! Thank you all!!!
It's great to see Melissa Anderson on the podcast! You've had other good guest on too but as you know she was such a major contributor to the series. It was a joy to see her visit and become a part of this.
My country is so envious of those who get to see cast members.. I literally went into a depression not being able to go to the 50th reunion.. then trying to get merch and the scammers were everywhere.. Australia loves you all .. dont forget about us ... Love you guys ... ❤
It was great seeing Melissa on here...I can't wait for part two. Thank you so very much Melissa for doing the podcast here. I never really had a fave between Mary and Laura but I do think Mary got the very short end of the stick with all of the horrible things happening to her. I can think of at least five quickly too as can most I am guessing. It is cool to me though that Melissa and i share the same birthday in September🙂
This was epic! I was captivated every moment Melissa shared-with her thoughtfulness, insights, and passion for her craft. She’s so nice and I loved hearing her honest thoughts on a multitude of subjects. I felt like this just skimmed the surface, but this was an excellent podcast nonetheless!
Loved this! Dean, I’m listening to your book on audible now. Alison, I’ve literally listened to yours at least three times all of the way through since I purchased years ago.
I would love to see a conjoint interview with both of the Melissa’s together. I’d like to hear who were their fav actors/actresses to do scenes with? Also the most challenging actors/actresses to work with?
@@fbueller Exactly. Melissa Gilbert said she had a very hard time connecting to Melissa Sue Anderson, and apparently so did other cast members. She would literally not talk to them (was she stuck-up for just really shy?). MG actually got along much better with Alison Arngrm -- they're still great friends to this day.
In general, please don't interrupt and laugh over your guests. You have great guests and we love to hear them give as much as they have to say. The best interviews are when an interviewer asks the questions most of the audience would like to know, then be quiet and let them talk. Johnny Carson was good at this. His courteous Midwest sensibilities.
It's so wonderful to see Melissa. She is still as gorgeous as ever! Also, I am listening to Dean's book on audible right now and it's fantastic. I'm to the Gidget years now.I have listened to Allison's also and I absolutely loved her book.
This interviews should be one on one. Way too many people talking over each other with inside jokes. But I guess that's what most modern podcasts are about.
Remember that well! The scene he came riding down the hill humming, and she looked up at him and smiled. Good connection. But she'd get cross at him later.
“The Award” episode really stands out because I felt so sorry for Mary after she started a fire in the barn. I never saw Ma that angry! I could feel how bad Mary wanted that dictionary. 🙁
The top 3 Mary episodes I like were Country Girls, The Award, The Wedding. I personally feel if they hadn't brought in James and Cassandra maybe they could have added to Nellie and or Mary.
Melissa Sue Anderson is wonderful-loved her portrayal as Mary and enjoy listening to her thoughts of the show she was a part of. Considering the fans from the original air dates of the show-in the same way Michael Landon said the show would last, perhaps the original fans also had a sense-that this wonderful show was something to hold close because in the future-2020 and on, life would get very chaotic.
Such a lovely interview/discussion. I always had a feeling Melissa was shy/introverted, and possibly uncomfortable with crowds. I'm hoping the rumors/assumptions stop now about her interaction with her costars.
Ty so much for sharing this great interview with Mellissa nice to see her after all this time and sharing her great memories of LHOP u are all amazing👏🇨🇦🇨🇦
I think the appeal still is the fantasy in living and that world. Also, watching as an adult you see the adult roles differently and can relate more with the parents and possibly question some of their choice that you didn’t as a child.
Great interview! I always thought Melissa Sue was beautiful and I guess I was more like Mary's character as a kid being introverted. However, I always wanted to be more like Laura's character (ok my middle name is Laura!) because she showed so much confidence, drive and determination to do things. She said what was on her mind and didn't hold back!
I know a lot of cast members had a hard time getting along with MSA and I had, perhaps unfairly, thought that she must have been stuck-up. But after this interview I'm more inclined to think that she was just shy/socially awkward. She seemed a little uncomfortable here at first.
I went to her p-town show !! It was awesome !!!! It was like a carnival it was “bear week”.. It’s for big burly hairy gay men and couples to help put the whole body shaming thing to an end .. and yes the “red room”..not sure it’s a 50 shades gray thing or Not but brilliant show !!!
I have such a deep fondness for Little House. It brings back memories of a time when people were kind, warm-hearted, and genuinely looked out for each other. Could you please tell me where "Little House on the Prairie" is available for streaming?
Alison needs to stop taking over the show. It’s not the Alison show. Dean barely got a word in. Melissa couldn’t even talk without Alison interrupting.
If you sign up on patreon, do you recieve the same give aways if you're not in the US? Watched the episode now, so wonderful to hear from Melissa Anderson. 🥰 Hope there really will be a part 2 with her! Felt like she could get more space to talk (love you, but you are very chatty), she seems to have a lot of clear memories and could share even more of them and her reflections. Always a pleasure with LHOP & 50for50! ❤
I get it about leaving but it was a regular paycheque and not much happened after unfortunately. And here we are 40 years later and back to Little House. I love it but it is worth noting. I'd serve coffee and say lamb stew for money oh yes.
many people have chimed in about the interview style of both Dean and Allison and I watched it closely and they did cut melissa off a few times as she was about to speak. This is a real problem with inexperienced interviewers, you just have to know when to shut up and they were talking way too much about their own experiences which was taking valuable time away from Melissa. Allison is a ham and very outgoing, she needs to curb it. Also their questions are too long , they preface them too much, it's unnecessary, just ask a consice question.
@@energybengt I think they were trying to warm her up she seems very shy still about being on video (oddly as she was an actress on film) I think part 2 will have her talking more!
They talk about the events they go to so much. And also have talked about the show being like a warm blanket so much. Why not ask the guest more questions instead?
I am extremely shocked Melissa Sue agreed to do this. Melissa Gilbert, and Allison I believe said she was was really mean and cold while filming. Guy who played her brief bf John Jr. said she wasn't friendly. I think Allison said she saw Melissa Sue at a wedding as adults, and said nothing changed- rude, cold, not friendky!
I love Melissa Anderson! A wonderful actress and a class act. Little house wouldn't be what it is without her. She's so gracious. I've not been a fan of Melissa Gilbert or Alison just because it was so tacky for them put down Melissa Anderson. They were grown adults talking like jealous kids still, it felt weird. It seems Alison finally grew up a little (yet she talks way too much still) however, there is a positive difference. Good for Alison. I guess I'll stick around for the rest of the videos. Melissa Anderson is probably the most wanted out of all of the stars, just because she hasn't been as out there as the others. Dean is nice & nice looking
In fairness, MSA was apparently hard to get along with on set. I don't think they "put her down" just admitted that they never really connected with her, misjudging her as stuck-up when she was probably just shy. But they've all grown up now.
Odd. When her ring light went off it looked like a totally different person. I mean it didn’t even look like it was her. Very bizarre. I think the ring light may have been too bright or too close: I only know this because I used one the other day for a job interview. That said, it was a nice interview & she went into great detail about the show & cast. Although, the only thing I didn’t get or understand is when she said the Greenbush twins were misunderstood. I guess it’s an inside joke or story.
I was extremely happy to see Melissa Anderson on. She really did make Little House awesome. I would love to see more of her in future podcasts. I’m anxiously awaiting Matt (Albert)…hoping he’s on sometime.
Thank you for reminding me she does not like the middle name.. getting her to appear is a miracle and do not want to offend
All of the cast was SO SPECIAL!!! Laura and Mary were expertly and magically portrayed all those years!!!!
Next please an Interview with Matthew. Would love to hear his Thoughts about his Time on LHOTP.

Once Laura got older, her eyebrows were 🔥🔥 & Mary's blue eyes were paralyzing. Never have I ever seen such beautiful blue eyes😍🔵👀

Could you possibly do "There's Something About Adam"? Linwood Boomer is so funny and it doesn't have to be a long one. We rarely hear from him!

I am still upset that Mary chose Adam over me! How could she be so blind?💔

Manicures were a HUGE thing back in the prairie days!
My favorite scene of Melissa's was where she cornered Mrs. Oleson in the storeroom and told her she had to donate money to charity.

The average person never noticed the fancy nails on standard definition tv. We only had a 14" tv (though 1974 was the year we finally got a color tv).

Since Alison and Melissa get along, now, let's get a reboot going on Peacock or Hulu.

Interesting. When Margaret Hamilton was playing a which in the Wizard of Oz, she had fingernail problems too and had to wear a glove!
Has Alison Arngrim done anything else beside Little House on the Prairie?
What was the point of having Melissa on when those 2 wouldn’t shut up.
I was team Mary type and only wished I could be lovable and outgoing like Laura, but I couldn't. Love from Japan.
Why was her hair dark brown in the last season
Allison said Melissa Sue was mean to her all throughout the series and even at Michael's funeral.
