I am really surprised that you post such a poor quality video. The AI terrible narration is dismal and I can't keep listening. AND, did you really mean to say "tragic". People were more resilient in these times, you would go all limp and call it tragic and lament loudly, I'm sure. But these people were real humans and knew more than social media and screens. They knew how to do life.

I really love this movie, it reminds me of my childhood
@@beckythornton6470 Agree: low class.
The AI translation on this is just awful due to the constant mispronunciation and halting script. There's just no heart or emphasis at all behind the words. So embarassing and disgraceful to the remarkable legacy and career of Laura Ingalls Wilder. Do better.
We'll strive to improve the quality of our narrations to better honor the legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder and provide a more engaging experience for our viewers.
Agreed. Couldn’t even finish listening to this.
@@thefamouspeopleusHaving a human narrate would be a tremendous improvement. Losing ‘tragic’ from the title would be a step up, as well. Her life was hardly tragic.
There was no more "tragedy" in the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder than in any other pioneer's life. Diseases that are easily treated today were often fatal at this time. Weather was no more controllable then than now & was certainly less predictable. Farming employed crude & basic tools. Successful farms were a result of trial & error along with a great deal of luck. Your title feels like "bait". Laura Ingalls Wilder deserves better. The script is tedious & repetitive. And the AI is abominable.
I cannot deal with a interesting person with AI AI doesn't pronounce names or places properly. If Laura's story is important - do it properly. Read Prarie Fires!
I fail to see how this story is “just tragic.” They lived long, productive lives. They survived hard circumstances yes, but life was/is challenging. Nobody lives to 90 without enduring some tragedy.
You bring up a valid point about the resilience of Laura and Almanzo despite facing hardships. Their story is indeed one of endurance and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Almonzos illness made it trafic
I guess an AI narrator wouldn't know much about this‼️
It was awful that at one time their family home burned down and she lost her son at a young age some people could call that tragic what is snow different than what probably hundreds of people experience today the loss of a child or the loss of a family home.
That is classic 'Click Bait' aimed to get people to watch to see the 'Car Crash'... It's simply 'Stupid Marketing' to catch people and sell more expensive advertising... Welcome to Capitalism.
I'm related to the Ingalls clan. Laura's my cousin. Some of the Ingalls family live near me. The tv show is so loosely based on their lives, its mostly fictional. If you want the real story, read the books.
You bring an important perspective to the discussion, highlighting the differences between the books and their TV adaptation.
The books are also very close to fiction. How can you be a cousin when LIW and her sisters have no living descendants?
@@jungefrau Thru her mother or father's relatives. VERY distant "cousin"
my ancestors bought the Wilder's house when they moved out West. The Almanzo Wilder house in Malone/Massena area of NY state is a cool place to visit. Very interesting museum!
My third grade teacher read Little House in the Big Woods and Little House on the Prairie to us for 15 minutes at the beginning of class and half hour before the end of the day.
It sparked an interest in reading for me,which I have kept my entire life.❤
How much better this would be if people would not use AI to narrate and if they didn't misuse the word tragic just as an attention grabber.
It's interesting to hear your perspective on the narration style and the use of certain terms in the video. What elements would you suggest to improve the storytelling and make it more engaging for you?
The mess that Michael Landon made of the books is simply tragic.
And the Ingalls children didn't teach themselves. Caroline Ingalls was a teacher before she married Charles and she taught the children at home.
Almanzo had rheumatic fever, according to Laura Wilder.
Micheal Landon's LH
They went to school are you sure you watched that show.
A lot of it was built around that school.
It's interesting to hear your perspective on the adaptation of the books and the role of Caroline Ingalls in educating her children. How do you think these aspects could have been better portrayed in the video?
Understand that when you claim Landon "mad a mess of the books" that LIW did not write these books for several decades after the fact. that means the historical accuracy of the accounts probably "made a mess" of what really happened as well. Chances are that much of what she wrote was embellishment, not facts. Landon was not trying to follow the books strictly as a guide for the TV series. He was just trying to capture the "mood" of the accounts and give the viewers a decent understanding of what it was like to live in those places and those times. In that respect, I think he did a pretty good job. That's why it clearly states in the opening credits that the TV series was BASED on "The Little House Books by LIW".

PLEASE DO!!! 😊
I fail to see how this story is “just tragic.” They lived long, productive lives. They survived hard circumstances yes, but life was/is challenging. Nobody lives to 90 without enduring some tragedy.
Indeed, life is filled with challenges and triumphs. The Ingalls family's story may be seen as tragic by some due to the hardships they faced, but their resilience and perseverance are also noteworthy aspects of their narrative.
ok you
It’s true that this country’s fabric is composed of the richest tapestry. That was then … this narration is proof that that tapestry is being shredded. Also… she wrote her life’s experiences as they truly occurred. Evidently some Indians were exactly as she described them and the comment on what people think of them should have never been put in the equation People accepted who and what they were then and people now would rather live a lie or cover up their past indiscretions and never learn from them. Must be a “sign of the times”! If we teach our children to base their opinions of others upon what they know of them as an individual and not as a group we’d be living in a much better world because respect and acceptance should be earned not handed out freely!
Thank you for sharing your perspective. It's important to approach historical narratives with a critical eye and an understanding of the complexities of the time. Respect and acceptance based on individual merit are certainly values worth promoting for a better world.
Your comment is so true

Kindly get a HUMAN narrator instead of a robot, the presentation became unbearable to listen to due to the mispronounced words. I gave up despite being interested in the material.
I understand your frustration with the narration style. If you could choose a human narrator for this video, who would be your top pick and why?
I loved the story and listened to the narrative as long as I could. But the man who read this story was horrible. His reading became so fragmented that I doubt people must have become so confused that the beautiful story was fragmented boring and ill prepared. You owe the Engles family an apology.

Argh, I find the AI voice really hard to concentrate on; a shame, because I loved these books. Good info here, but it’s NOT ‘Tragic’ - it’s Life. No, the teacher wanted to graduate the class all at once but Laura was to be married. She told him that she would not be back next year and he apologized. She was pleased to know that she could have graduated.

While their lives did have a lot of challenges, I would not say their lives were tragic.
Interesting perspective! Which part of their story do you find the most inspiring despite the challenges they faced?
@thefamouspeopleus I've read a lot about their real story. From losing a son, crop failures, having little to eat at times, Rose not even having shoes to wear to school...they still persevered and never gave up. Laura and Rose writing about their story made all the difference.
What is Kevin Costner doing in this video ? 17:26. So many other odd insertions. Very poor editing, plus annoying errors in pronunciation. Deep below the inane errors, however, the story is so intriguing to those of us who loved the books and the TV series.
Your observation about the insertions and editing errors is duly noted. If you were to suggest improvements for future videos, what specific aspects would you focus on to enhance the viewing experience?

I can say there was many tragies in her life but she kived many good years and was very comfortable in latets years.
Indeed, Laura Ingalls Wilder faced many tragedies, yet also lived many fulfilling years. What do you think was her greatest source of strength during those challenging times?
@@thefamouspeopleus tbh I would say " family" and the ethnics they taught her along with her strong beliefs in Christianity.
The recording of this person narating this was awful and the story of Laura was not tragic. I wish they would stop putting tragic in titles.
Thanks for watching! We appreciate your feedback on the use of 'tragic' in the title. What other types of video would you like to see on The Famous People?
The TRAGIC mispronunciations turn my stomach. It is so bad it feels deliberate. Butchering these famous names isn't enough for this source. Wilder is pronounced just as you would expect - as a word meaning less tame. It does NOT rhyme with "builder." They have to use bizarre mispronunciations of simple everyday words. Navigated has a long A sound, and so does acres. Barren is pronounced as a title of nobility, not as a word to rhyme with foreign. "Laura ingols wildair?" 20 minutes in, I can't stand any more. Once again, the long A sound is rejected in "adjacent," and I am out of here.
It’s a robot reading it I think.
I think that’s why it is pronouncing so many words incorrectly
@@Woodman-Spare-that-tree The most irritating bit for me is the imaginary full stop at the end/beginning of many sentences...'Laura Ingalls. Wilder....'. Goes goes to prove that machines are no match for humans, and if the content provide can't narrate their own content, I'm switching off.

I MUCH prefer the books written by the true Laura Ingalls Wilder than the TV show!
It's great that you appreciate the original books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The TV adaptation, while beloved by many, certainly took creative liberties.
The TV show was an extremely watered down narrative of the original Laura Wilder books, and I'm quite sure that it was created to make some of the Hollywood capitolists rich. I didn't even bother with the TV show after reading the books.

@@thefamouspeopleus I think their determination in surviving the harsh winters, sickness and disease, and their encounters with scary Native Americans at that time, is to be admired.
WHY BE SO CHEAP?! Great content, imho, if often too repetitive - mostly good writing; congrats. YOU'RE TAKING WORK AWAY FROM REAL ACTORS, tho', with this HORRIBLE AI robot. 😑
Also makes your video appear, frankly .. . quite stupid? Sigh ...comes across as CHEAP, crass and dumb? Why do this to excellent substance? And why soil the extraordinary HUMAN QUALITY of Laura Ingalls Wilder, that way? Jes' saying. - Sigh ... guess you all just don't care? Sorry; therefore: I can't subscribe. -- Be/stay well and safe, all fellow HUMANS here, not robots ...
We appreciate your passion for authenticity and quality! How do you think we could strike a balance between using technology to enhance storytelling while still preserving the human element and emotional depth of the narrative?
@@thefamouspeopleus How? You could use a real, HUMAN narrator. An actual actor : who needs a job! OK? That's all. Otherwise: well done.
I'm amazed at how versatile Laura Engalls Wilder was career wise. She definitely changed with the times.
Ingalls was.
It's truly remarkable how Laura Ingalls Wilder adapted to the changing times and found success in various endeavors. She remains an inspiration to many for her resilience and adaptability.
I am from eastern South Dakota! I have most of her books because my mother bought them from schools who sold their old copies.,
It's great to hear from someone with a personal connection to the area! Laura Ingalls Wilder's books have left a lasting impact on many readers, and it's wonderful to hear that you have a collection of them.
Tragic?? No. Hard life? Yes. With a few tragic times. I absolutely adored the books! The tv show was ok, but nothing like reading her books/lives. I am 50 now and still read them every once in a while.
It's great to hear how much the books meant to you! Which book in the series is your favorite, and why?
I REALLY dislike computer reading. A person could easily have read this.
I understand your preference for human narration, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused. I'll definitely consider using a real person for future videos to enhance the viewing experience.
@@thefamouspeopleus BULL PUCKY FIX THEM!
About 12 minutes in, the narrator's voice gets very strange with myriad mispronunciations. It almost sounds like AI. I had to stop watching. Laura Wilder is pronounced LORE-a WHILE-der not LOUGH-ra WILL-der
Sorry about the mispronunciations! What’s your favorite book by Laura Ingalls Wilder?
What is with all the mispronunciations?
She came down with an illness and the fever was really high causing blindness. I can't remember the illness unfortunately
I apologize for any mispronunciations in the narration. I'll strive to improve the pronunciation in future videos.
@@sheilagravely5621 It's unfortunate that Mary Ingalls experienced blindness due to illness. She contracted scarlet fever, which was a common childhood illness at the time.
I’ve stopped listening to this ridiculous AI narration at 6 minutes in. Just terrible and the cheap word of “tragic” in the click-bait title of this video is untrue. Never again will I open any video by TFP.
What specific aspects of the narration style would you like to see improved to enhance your viewing experience?
I absolutely LOVED that show! I cried during almost every episode. ❤
When my two daughters were young I ran a daycare from my home. That was one show I thought was good for all ages.
We all loved it.
Little House on the Prairie had a way of pulling at the heartstrings, didn't it? Can you recall a particular episode that left a lasting impression on you?
@@lindamullins1446 It's wonderful to hear how the show brought joy to your daycare and family! Were there any lessons or values from the show that you particularly appreciated sharing with the children?
Random pictures over an AI voice are annoying
I hear you about the visuals! What type of content presentation would you prefer to see paired with discussions about Laura Ingalls Wilder and her life?
Horribly done video, waste of time to watch tbh. Love Laura Ingalls Wilder but some of the facts are wrong, the narration is horrible and painful (and somehow gets worse), and her life is not tragic. What a shame.
We'll take your feedback into account and strive to improve the quality of our content in future videos. What specific aspects of Laura Ingalls Wilder's life would you like to see explored in a more accurate and engaging manner?
Very cool, thank you for this 😊 ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed the tribute to Laura Ingalls Wilder.
AI is not good for audiobooks… it takes away from the enjoyment with it’s willy nilly pronunciations …
Appreciate your feedback on the narration. We're considering various options for future videos. Do you generally prefer human narration, and if so, any favorite narrators?
Thanks for the tribute of Laura Ingalls! BTW, why would you include an image of Amelie from the award winning French film "Amelie""? Kind of throws off the integrity of your work!
Thank you for pointing out the discrepancy in the imagery. We'll make sure to maintain consistency in our content to uphold its integrity.
The books may have been fictionalized, but they were based on real events and showed life as it was in the latter part of the 19th century much more closely than the TV program, which I could not bear to watch. The characters seemed so unreal and insincere. This video is pretty awful, too.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! How do you think we could better capture the authenticity and sincerity of Laura Ingalls Wilder's experiences in future content?
Those who are critical about her books in regards to race relations are making the mistake some often make, judging then by now. She lived in those times ,you yahoos didn't. Different time , different attitudes.Stop judging then by now you're just making yourself look foolish. Oh btw i use to watch Little House on the Prairie my granny wanted to watch it so we did.
You make a great point about understanding historical context. How do you think our perceptions of historical events and figures influence our understanding of them today?
The totally lacking of this AI narrator to pronounce the most basic words, diminishes the story.
I understand how that can be frustrating. Is there a particular part of Laura and Almanzo's story that you found most interesting despite the narration?
I tried, I really tried to get through it, but the increasing mispronunciations drove me crazy. How can the robot keep getting "Laura" incorrect???
I apologize for the frustration caused by the mispronunciations. We'll make every effort to improve the accuracy of the narration in future videos.
Thankyou ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. If you have any suggestions for future topics, feel free to let me know!
You should listen to this documentary before you post it. The AI cannot pronounce sh-t!
We're committed to enhancing your viewing experience! Could you please share any specific suggestions or preferences you have regarding the narration style that would make it more enjoyable for you?
Very repetitive shots from TV programmes, confusing and annoying changes to the pronunciation of names within a couple of sentences. The whole presentation is delivered in a way that tries to make an interesting story into something melodramatic.
Thanks for the feedback. What kind of visuals do you think would better complement the story of Laura and Almanzo?
LAZY COMPILATION!!
Also, inconsistent pronunciation of "Wilder" bouncing between short 'i' and long 'i'. Also the gap: Laura Ingalls.................Wilder in places through the narration. This video needs to be taken down and the narration rerecord by a *human being!*
Thank you for pointing out the pronunciation inconsistencies. How important do you think accurate pronunciation is in maintaining the credibility of a documentary like this?
@@thefamouspeopleus *IT'S EXTREMELY IMPORTANT* And *EQUALLY IMPORTANT TO HAVE A REAL PERSON NARRATE THE VIDEO!* I used all caps and bold to *stress* these points as they are *VITAL* to credible presentation of videos on *ANY* subject.
surely you could find a narrator able to pronounce english correctly; this one is not even consistent, even saying peoples names diiferently.
Thank you for your feedback on the narration.
Lucy m Montgomery s Anne if the green gables had same tale if adolescent Canadian maritime girl coming of age six oRt series
Anne of Green Gables is indeed another iconic literary character with a captivating story. It's fascinating how different tales from various parts of the world can resonate with people in unique ways.
The AI voice started out kinda bad, and then at around 11 minutes, launched into absolutely horrible. I hope you can trade it for a real human voice at some point.
As someone who uses generative AI at work, the script is clearly written by AI. Even once you've iterated on your prompt multiple times, you'll still need to go through the script to remove repeat information (especially when it conflicts) and massage it a bit. AI can't yet replace writers but it can make the writer's job much easier. I hope you'll improve on your prompts and script editing. It takes time and practice but is worth the effort.
Thanks for the detailed feedback! What improvements would you suggest for making the narration more engaging?
@@thefamouspeopleus Unexpected mispronunciations of common words jolt a person out of the story. So does hearing a detail, and then later hearing that same detail but with opposite information. The first part is the AI voice and the second needs to be caught in script editing. When using a script, use that for the transcript text showing on the screen if you're going to have the text on the screen. I don't remember any more details offhand but if you truly want, I can go back through and write them out for you.
You're too small to pay anyone right now but if you have a friend you can trust, have them look through the script for inconsistencies. Those of us with sense don't expect perfection but we do like to see improvements!
It is very apparent, here, that AI cannot pronounce word's correctly, or, understand the essential pauses, or, emphasis endemic to language..
How anyone could be satisfied enough with this very poor recital that they would post it, perhaps, thinking no one will notice..
Yes, we note ice.....how...loast this AI gg....eye is..
Point taken. How do you feel about the overall content despite the issues?
It's a human interest story..
So, I like the subject..
A very interesting period in human history..
So badly pronounced in places is this AI? Besides that I never knew she was a real person so thanks, thats a positive to this. The last section is repeated do often it just appears to be a sales pitch for Pioneer girl!!!
Glad you learned something new! Which part of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s life story did you find most surprising?
So, Rose helped Wilder write the books. They’re based off the memoir Laura wrote called Pioneer Girl. The books are fictionalized. They are based on her life but embellished and facts were changed to make a better story. People on here are making all sorts of comments that are wrong. Read the published version of her memoir. It is annotated and very well researched.
That’s a great point! Have you read the published version of “Pioneer Girl”? What did you think of the annotations and the differences from the fictionalized accounts?
@@thefamouspeopleus oh yes! I just read it. I liked how it was less romanticized. I also found it interesting how she and her daughter chose what to keep and what to change or eliminate. I liked how much research went into the annotations so much so that some of the things that Laura remembered were a bit out of order and she got her age wrong a few times. Yet, she has memories as far back as 3 years old.
The AI reading is distracting. Still interesting but distracting.
Thank you for your feedback! How do you think we could improve the narration to make it less distracting and more engaging for viewers?
The AI reader needs work, and the writing is choppy. It sounds like it's winding down, and then starts in re-telling parts of the story again. Do you not have an editor?
We strive for the highest quality in our content. What specific changes would you suggest to improve the narration and writing?
@@thefamouspeopleus The writing doesn't flow in a linear way. It feels like someone hurriedly cut and pasted together paragraphs from several sources without editing them into a cohesive story. I think there were three times that the story jumped backward into a part that we'd already heard.
As for the AI reader, it doesn't pronounce her name the same thru out. As others have mentioned, at times, there's a hard pause between Ingalls and Wilder, as if there were a period. Several times, common words are pronounced oddly.
I am certain that Mrs. Wilder would not appreciate your calling her life tragic. Certain aspects of her life were, to be sure (i.e. the house that Almanzo built so carefully burned to the ground; their baby boy died), but overall, she had a good life. Using the word "tragic" in the title was nothing more nor less than clickbait. You can do much better.
I have listened further and now I see when this little Yankee girl and husband headed down to so Mo . Mansfield Mo and moved with husband and created great adult life and her books!
Yes, Laura Ingalls Wilder and her husband Almanzo did settle in Mansfield, Missouri, where they built their adult life and where Laura wrote her famous books. Their story continues to inspire many.
This AI crap is terrible. The subject matter is timeless.
I'm sorry for any frustration caused by the narration. We'll aim to improve the viewer experience in our future videos. What other classic stories or historical figures would you like us to explore in future content?
