I live in Asheville it’s been my home since the day I was born in 1999. This Hurricane was way worst than the previous events in 2021, 2018, 2004, 1977, and 1916. The Biltmore Village area is still without power because of all of the damage.

Thousands lost their lives. They legally can't report it! Bodies still being recovered.

The ground was saturated meaning it rained so much water couldn’t seep into the ground leading to flooding

It had flooded the entire week beforehand. Having a hurricane swoop in after it was already flooded is what caused so much catastrophic damage. I am so very thankful the winds were not all that with this storm. It would have been WAY worse. Not looking forward to this weekend in the mountains. A lot of trees still hanging and dangling and here comes one heck of a punch to saturated ground. High winds are going to bring a lot of trees down.
