The words and the advice on a dream journey are so very true and from someone who has given his all and from a rider who has got over the mountain in front him and become a real inspiration and icon to all his brands and followers like you said Tom the road is long and tough you need commitment enthusiasm and dedication to drive this passion well you have it all Tom superb Job keep it up fella 👍👍👍
I Dig your style Tom. You are passionate and selfless in all that you do. I am still bummed about the compound but that is water under the bridge. Keep up the great content and your amazing skills on the bike. Cheers Bro
I've had sponsorship when I raced RC it's much the same with most sponsorships regardless of the sport. It's crucial to a brand that you are approachable because you are pushing their profile as much as your own, so no throwing a towel over your kit if someone asks about it, tell people how good it is. Also most sponsorship isn't cash or freebies, it just means they offer a deal to buy their latest products or spares at the trade price or a reduced price & the option to buy direct, but the brand will always expect something in return. A lot of that is a criteria of conditions such as what events you should enter (at your own cost) plus what you wear when photographed etc and also a requirement for you to prove your value by sending them results or details of how you have promoted them or referring customers if you want to keep them on board. Either way, a sponsor on a CV will open up new avenues as well as looking impressive and the more you understand how sponsorship works, will make finding the next sponsorship opportunity easier.
You should also consider that unlocking that side of the game might ultimately lead to losing the fun in biking because you suddenly have lots of obligations and other things to take care of. It’s not just riding bikes anymore.
@TomCardy I think it's the same no matter what trade your working in, like you said you have to grab every opportunity, to keep broadening your horizons and therefore keep it more interesting and worth doing. Keep doing what you do best at Tom! ❤👊
After blurring the lines between work and pleasure several times in my life- I would avoid the bike industry like the plague and find a normal job with as high pay as possible. Use the money to ride whatever bike you want, when you want. Keep your life simple and passions sacred.
Sell Yourself. And Work hard and Not be a D bag helps. hahaha Prime Example is Kara. And it is not even because she is Beautiful too. She is a Good person and TRIES. Wish i could talk to the Camera like you all. LOVE YOU BOTH :)
I done a 10KM race and came out 30th overall and 3rd in my group but I got 0 social media besides RUclips do you think anyone would be willing to sponsor me?
Being a pro rider where your physical health is so important, Do you have health insurance? I understand in the UK you have the socialized health care i.e. NHS. But is that enough for a pro rider like yourself to get you back to performance asap. I imagine it's harder to negotiate sponsorship deals for the following year if you're out with a torn ACL etc. I always worry about serious injuries because what if I have a kid on the way, and I wreck huge. If I can't work, and the missus is preggers, how am I going to put food on the table? Sorry for sounding like a parent, but this is stuff I think everyone starts to worry about the older we get. Cheers

Great video!! We’ll keep having fun 🤟🏼
Step 1: be good 😂
😂😂😂
not necessarily you could be terrible but very entertaining and have thousands of followers. sponsors want views and people looking at there product
@@boz3536 now we need a "how to basic" but in dirt jumping and trials riding
obviously you cant expect to ride around doing small wheelies on the rode and get sponsored
Do a video talking about all your old sponsors you’ve had from your first sponsor to your current sponsors
Tom love all these tips.
Well presented Tom. Great advice.
