I like the idea of the engineers creating the Xenomorphs as a way of connecting themselves to their creators. But rather then the Xenomorphs losing their intelligence I believe it’d be more satisfactory that the Xenomorphs we’ve seen are failed recreations. Almost like people trying to make an angel but creating demons instead.
@@krxwnvxk3432 There is no truth! It's a sci-fi movie script that tells a completely FICTIONAL story for profitable entertainment. "Truth of the matter". What the Hades is wrong with you?
Though we do know that the line between an angel and a demon can be a narrow one...I think I would have LOVED seeing a Prometheus movie titled Paradise Lost!
"Engineers clearly Worship the Xenomorph Looking being" Not necessarily. Many people speculate it is not a form of Worship, but instead a warning against misusing the Black Goo (perhaps both warning and worship). That is; Irresponsible use of the Black Goo can result in catastrophic results to its users. What little use of the Black Goo we see from the Engineers has always been controlled, almost ritualistic on screen. It lends credence to the idea that Engineers have a very rigid structure around the Black Goo and its usage.
The mural/ statue of the Xenomorph looking creature could also be more of a reverence to the Engineer’s most perfect creation. An acknowledgement of the height of the bioengineering prowess. We (humans) could just be a small side experiment in creating individually intelligent life in the Engineer image. We aren’t their main focus, we are just a side project which they view as a failure. The Xenomorph is the the true focus.
I dont understand why they would worship the xenomorph, since it kills them. It makes no sense. I figure its their version of a nuclear weapon. Their "perfect" weapon.
I had heard that the humanoid figure in the room with the black goo was the first engineer infected with an alien 'deacon' that had the gold blood; the engineers had lost the ability to reproduce on their own. The gold blood allowed the engineers to seed other planets, but they ran out of the blood and the black goo was their attempt to replicate the golden blood from the first deacon.
Yeah, Kroft talks about that in some earlier videos about original drafts/scripts and how a lot of the Engineer stuff got cut. I think he has 2 videos about that. 1 before the special edition blueray, and the second one after the blueray with interviews/documentary that does enforce that the earlier scripts/drafts elaborate on the engineers and their worship of the original true "deacon" and how it allowed them to reproduce. After they gave up sex, i think the quote is something like, "they reproduced in strange and exotic ways" or something like that. Hinting at bio-engineering/cloning/whatever ethereal/eldritch methods you can think up. The true deacon shows up, they use it's blood for reproduction, run out, and make the black goo. I don't think it is stated anywhere if the Engi who seeded life on earth used the original deacon blood or their version black goo. It would make more sense if they used their black goo since humans are waaaay to violent for them, and then leads them to start playing around with the black goo to try and isolate the "violence" gene. The planet David hits with the black goo look really similar to engi's but also humans. They favor the engineer architecture and humble looks, with major parts of the planet being left alone and natural. So I would hazard a guess that planet 4's Engi/human hybrids were a successful pre-earth attempt using original deacon blood and earth's humans were black goo hybrids.
I don't think the Engineers are androids due to their reactions with the black goo and the impregnation from the Trilobite. The synthetics in the series never seem to be viable targets for Facehuggers, and David appears to be incompatible with the black goo judging by how he is able to handle contact with it.
Facehuggers have a respiratory feature to keep the host alive. David/Ashe have no respiratory function. Also the "bleeding" is not, it's a leak of hydraulic fluid with an extensive electromechanical ligature system with a smart suface sensing feed back fau neurological system.
I thought that in almost all alien & AvP movies it was pretty clear that xenomorphs were designed to be the ultimate biological weapon. Their entire design points to being a weapon as almost every part of them is lethal & their entire aim is to kill, reproduce, multiply and wipe out anything in its way. Don't know too much about the backstory but couldn't the engineers have been at war with predators and create a bioweapon that is stronger than any predator? (where both civilizations arose through normal evolutionary processes)
@@JohnnyZenith ? Not quite sure what you mean. A quick google will show you there are: Original series Alien (1979) Aliens (1986) Alien 3 (1992) Alien Resurrection (1997) Prequel series Prometheus (2012) Alien: Covenant (2017)
We don't know and perhaps we will never know 4 sure if there was a war going on between the two races. With that being said, we do know that the Predators enjoyed the sport of hunting down the Xenomorphs as this is a great honor in gaining ranks. The Engineers don't possess all the badass weapons like the Predators but they do have that cunning ability to create destructive biological species that will fight for them on the frontline. In an actual hand to hand combat, an engineer can easily overpower a predator warrior as seen from the comic series. The enginneers are incredibly strong. So yes, with the Xenomorphs on their side, the Predators are no match. But wait…don't forget that the Predators do have something up in their sleaves. They got the nukes with the explosive power of a 500 kilotons of TNT. That's more than enough to level an entire city the size of Manhattan, New York. They will leave no traces behind. 😅😅😱😱☠☠☠☠☠☠
Then, they probably meant it as a sort of a gift🤣. Seriously, the Predators love Xenomorphs as prey. They made specialised hunting grounds for them, used human sacrifices to incubate their young. They RAISED the species. It's part of their culture. Whatever Engineer made them either thought it was funny,it was a nice gift or he didn't know ### about Yautja. Or maybe all three.
I noticed, in the mural, that the creature had a belly button. So like when the alien took the ability to breed like a human, this original one also had that ability.
I saw a “how would you rate this comment” survey on this comment, which I have never seen before. It made me pause since it’s an example of a creation trying to improve something about itself for its creator. Which is an import part of this video, these movies, this discussion.
Some eukaryotes can "conjugate" with each other - and also do asexual reproduction - what they wil do is conjugate ( trade genes ) with another of it's species that isnt in its direct genetic line and then asexually reproduce a bunch and then do it again with another one and do the asexual reproduction again. It knows what it's doing - trying to make more successful bacteria through genetic super diversity... Shit is smart on an instinct level.!
Well with the release of the unpublished script, we know that, at least originally, the engineers worshipped and ancient parasitic being, they worship it because they evolved passed the ability to reproduce, but this being facehugging onto them, allowed them to spawn new life, but I think it's safe to assume that being wasn't a traditional Xeno, because it's blood would be acidic, and we know the goo in the jar from the opening scene is supposed to be it's blood, which instead of being acidic is instead mutigenic. Also, if they worshipped it and didn't fear it, it's likely these beings were intelligent. And the engineers took the blood of this parasite and used it to mutate themselves into new life. From there we know that some engineers tried to weaponize it, or at least a synthetic version of it. As to whether or not David truly created the Xenos, I think he just ushured in it's natural next step. Every instance of life affected by the mutigenic "goo" all appear to be parasitic. From the hammerpedes, to the giant face humper that attached to the engineer. I don't think David truly did as much as he believes he did. I think the goo used him, like it uses everything else. A true parasite.
I had a crazy Idea David was born already superior to his creators thus causing David to develop a complex so when they discovered the engineers he though he would encounter superior beings to coexist with. After Prometheus David studied the engineers and realized they were created by a superior lifeform the xenomorph entity that they worshiped. The engineers were just as disappointing as humans were for David so he destroyed them and got to work on recreating their creators thus the xenomorphs prototypes he made but his work has yet to yield the desired result.
When the original Engineer drinks the gold “blood of the creator” and falls into the water, he doesn’t JUST make humans. He makes all living creatures on that planet.
@@yakuza2123 When I first saw the movie. My first thought was *the tree of life bares only black fruit*. Docile and less violent creatures were a product of evolution over long periods of time. Somethin like that
I think the important thing is that the story has balance , the engineers create life and the xenomorph destroys it.. as an antithesis. Humans are in the middle. The dark details around are interesting but decorative. At the end this story was created with mysteries that were never planned to be explained like the spacejockey. Decades later and with the desire to make money with a franchise every detail has been forced to fit a giant puzzle that was never supposed to exist.
I think this is true of almost every giant franchise. Star Wars for example, was supposed to be a stand alone movie at first. George Lucas didn’t expect it to be successful at all and after it was, the other ot movies were made to fill in the gaps
Interesting. Sort of like the Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva trinity (trimurti): Creator, Preserver, Destroyer. One Hindu once created the G-O-D acronym by describing them as Generator, Operator, Destroyer.
I think any author when writes a story thinks of way more stuff than what actually goes on the final production (movie, book music etc). This is because of budget constraints which account to time as well. I bet they wished they could have worked more on the concept and all details that make up the story but didn't because time was limited. Once the movie got popular, there was enough budget and time to bring all those details to further development and introduce them in new movies. I don't think there were created to fill in gaps.
As per option 2, thats not what I was picking up on here with the Engineers’ creator story - this is - They’re god was a benevolent, highly evolved & intelligently advanced Xenomorph species, a Queen alien; apparently, it seems that The Engineers as a species lost the ability to reproduce and going extinct, & that is when they met this angelic Xenomorph that agreed to sacrifice her life in order to genetically engineer or hybridize their DNAs together in order to save their species. It worked, at least for awhile, and the Engineers proceeded to worship the Wise Queen Xenomorph as their god, specifically worshipping the small amount of her blood they have maintained as the elixir of life; however, over time The Engineers DNA began to degrade again, and with extinction looming again they began desperate genetic engineering experiments attempting to synthesize their God’s blood and attempt to resurrect their God (in other words, the highly intelligent & benevolent ancient Xenomorph race that created them) - however Engineers could never perfect the synthesis, and the changes made accidentally to the blood’s DNA kept evolving & mutating over time into a rabid hybrid hive-minded species with no soul, controlled essentially by what the engineers would likely consider to be The Devil or the opposite of their God - A Queen xenomorph that only cares about herself and about spreading infestation & death...the bot hed Engineer experiments With xenomorph blood led to the birth of a new mutant species of xenomorph that ironically now threatens all life in the galaxy - so, it seems like a whole bunch of genetic engineering experiments gone terribly wrong and the unforeseen nightmare consequences such risky experiments could accidentally yield
@@ash_1419 because the Xenomorph is a bioweapon.. The Engineers used the Xenomorph to get rid of failed experiments.. And we are definitely a failed experiment
No. Well argued but no. Ridley Scott makes it clear that the xenomorph is and always has been a bioweapon. Any theory has to acknowledge this. I love your videos but this is a massive overeach.
More like they were formidable life forms people intended to use as a bio weapon. Only now Ridley decided to insert his creationist babbling that makes no sense in the story.
I like the Kroft narrator's voice. Soothing, very relaxing. I have a chemo infusion today. This video calmed my nerves. At least I don't have to worry about any black goo, right?
Super advanced civilization logic: take a super dangerous self evolving substance and put it in Tupper containers with unsecured lids in a temple with a giant head In The middle
There could be many reasons for that, though. Who knows if they made the goo? Perhaps they found it, indicating they're not that advanced. The Klingon in Star Trek are very ritualistic, yet advanced. That's one of the appealing things about Star Trek--it shows there are many paths of advancement, not just the ones shown by humans. Klingons likely stole the technology they needed and back engineered it from there.
Perhaps, we can look at it in this perspective. A higher being above the Engineers intentionally left the Black Goo there behind to see if the Engineers would keep the Covenant: the seal or promise of faithfulness to the gods. Like all flawed races in the Universe, the Engineers chosed rebellion against their creator. They wanted to be like the gods so they used the Black Goos to make themselves invincible. Sounds like a similar story in the Garden of Eden? Had they chosen the Convenant over the Black Goos, the Enginneers would have been the chosen race to be in good terms with the gods. In return, they will enjoy peace, prosperity, and no death. By choosing the Black Goos, it was an admissible death sentence b/c that was grounds for a rebellion. How do you suppose a third of the angels were cast out of the Heavens? The containers weren't completely sealed proof b/c it was a matter of choice. Similarly, in Prometheus, had David obeyed his master's orders not to enter into the Forbidden chamber of the ship, the entire Prometheus crew would have lived to see their mission being accomplished.
@Niŋin turdl已 If the engineers are the fallen angels, then we would indeed be in serious jeopardy. These so-called angelic beings have ranks after ranks of principalities and powers beyond the human race can withstand. A third of 10k x 10k = 33,000,000. We're all dead meat! 🤣🤣🤣
dude... you need to make this concept. There's 9600 subscribers, one has to be a solid artist. Write the story of the advanced xenomorph, narrate it, and have someone do some badass art for it. Comic/graphic novel type video.. I bet you could go to a pretty amazing place with it.
there’s already a book in which xenomorphs were originally a highly advanced species. I don’t remember the title, but it picks up the storyline after Alien 2.
Scott based a lot of the Engineers mythos in things connected to elements of ancient human culture with some level of ambiguity around them. Their written language is sumarian, they use hierohlyphics, and their main ship is exactly like the kind of tubular one's you'd see in old UFO sighting clips.
in my opinion, leaving certain things unexplained or a mystery is better than trying to explain it. it leaves one to come up with their own theories and lore and leaves a whole world to explore, and is why people think certain franchises are great.

One of the things that people miss is also the biblical and biological or evolutionary themes that Ridley Scott features in the Alien Franchise at least Alien, and of course Prometheus or Covenant as well. 1: Bio-Mechanical Theme Because many of the aspects are influenced literally from H.R. Giger's artwork we have to take into consideration that the Xeno's and Engineers share the same "Bio-Mechanical" theme. We can first see this in both the looks from the Xenomorph acid blood, and finally the Engineer bio suits that indeed there is an element of genetic engineering as well as bio mechanical engineering as well that goes into the themes. Same could be said about the Black Goo as well being an accelerate and also a mutation agent as well. 2: Biblical and Evolutionary Themes Biblical themes can be found throughout the Alien and Prometheus/Covenant movies as well. From LV 426 to also LV 223. Because of this, the scriptures goes as stated: Leviticus 4:26 "He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the leader's sin, and he will be forgiven." also... Leviticus 22:3 "Say to them: 'For the generations to come, if any of your descendants is ceremonially unclean and yet comes near the sacred offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the LORD, that person must be cut off from my presence. I am the LORD." This has been a rolling theory fans have had about the film with the Engineers obsessing with the perfect life form or organism. Furthermore this also can be stated by Ash from the movie Alien both about purity and perfection. ruclips.net/video/1Z5sX4qC5HE/видео.html Stating how he admires it's purity, and also it being the perfect organism. So because of this we can think that indeed this is why we as humans were host for the next stage. Just the fact we became self aware, questioned the creators back then, and finally were considered blemished again so to speak. Now in part to about Evolutionary theme? The Black Goo represents the concept of life literally spurring from the primordial ooze or in this case "Black Goo" either being accelerated, altered, or finally mutated. Thoughts: My thoughts is basically that in looking at the themes from the Alien movies at least both Alien, Aliens, Prometheus, and finally Covenant that it could be said whoever or whatever created the Engineers might have been created from an intelligence with a sense of order. Implying creation with Intelligent Design implied into it's development, now rather out of protocol, instinct or self awareness with ambition to distinguish themselves as "The Creators" could be another thing but what is known that the theme of creation and evolution was carried out with a "grand design" for the goal. That major goal is still a mystery but in my opinion the Engineers feel they are simply following their role in engineering and creating life, but as ambition or out of dedication with zealous faith is another story. Hopefully we will find out eventually...
Engineers were created by the spacejockey race - They rebelled and took the black mutagen which fulfills the reference to "stealing fire from the gods" Prometheus classical mythos.
Excellently put...and a refreshing engineer origin theory (to me at least). Seems fairly plausible when considering the entropic nature of humankind's largest civilizations (many of which have been conveniently 'lost'). Thanks for another great production!
Engineers might not always wear bio suits, it could just be something certain Engineers wear for certain missions. or it could be something a certain class of Engineers wear
I think the premise really is: They were looking for the engineers, not be caused they were human being's creators, but because them being more advanced, they may have discovered the meaning of life and existence.
the script explains it they looked for the engineers in search of selfish purposes as eternal life besides life meaning the engineer as he spoke with anger he said that they took one of our kind and taught him meaning and purpose of life as beligerant species that we are, we punished and killed him (jesus) so they gave up on us and left us on our own fate they had the answers, they gave us all of them, "we" didnt care at all

the concept behind the engineers are the ufo-logically reimagined nephelim time who gave birth to Titans(fallen Angels in the period of Enoch till the Deluge in bible) Those (according to the bible) “fallen angels” like the daughter of men back then 4000 BCE - 4200 BCE and want to have a sexual relation with them and make themselves children but that is not allowed for this type of creatures, and they do it anyway disobeying God laws . And results between human and angels was the birth of Titans. So the Xeno’s related to nephilim And the Engineers related to the Titans also called “warriors men of renowned”
@@vh-ali_n-teen Fallen angels.. the term is used alot and undoubtedly miss used alot too... They were indeed angels. The fallen part is tricky tho. The question, when you shave all the fat off is this; A) Were the Angels not considered "fallen" until after copulation with human females and as a result become "fallen", as that was forbidden? Or B) were they "fallen" pre- copulation as a result of a prior violation? I believe A to be correct Imho.
I like the last theory and it makes a ton of sense. From the director's cut of Alien and Scott's commentary as the title sequence begins, he says that his vision along with O'Bannon and Giger who designed this monstrous beauty is that it hinted that the Xeno was something ancient, far beyond our comprehension. It goes hand in hand with cosmic horror and if this rode is taken (hopefully) it will also share parallels with Dune which is thousands of years into the future when humans have decided to train themselves over becoming dependant on tech which nearly destroyed them.
Maybe the black goo is a reference to “Soma” the ancient “drink” of the gods found in zoroastrian. A drink that would make the gods more divine it contained dmt, mushrooms, speed, and heroin. They probably had some bomb black tar

I believe it was a combination of things. The Engineer doesn't seem hostile when they first wake him, the turning point seems to be when Shaw is hit in the stomach with the gun. It's not happy about that at all. Then an old man arrogant enough to think of himself as a god introduces him to this non-biomechnical artificial live. Several things went wrong there.

So, it's kinda of complicated, but Ridley ignores Predators in his universe. I like to think like that: Alien's and BR's universe is canon in Predator's universe, but it's not the same way around.
They came from Missouri, U.S.A. Most Predators moved to Alabama and mated with their own sisters, mothers, aunts, grandmas, and neices. Alabama Predators became the Yautja.
Do you remember a flash back in “Prometheus”, when the crew saw a projection of the past where engineers running from something and one eventually had his head cut with doors? Do you recall “Alien”, the first of the franchise, the shot where we see an engineer in an elephant like helmet his abdomen was also cut open? Remember tall bodies with their rib cages burst inside out? Well, the movie tells us what happened. The goo is like a plague “the creators” produced to eliminate sadistic and violent human race. In the process an epidemic broke loose, they them selves suffered dearly from it and only one survived. And still it remains and spreads around the planet whenever accidental stupid host arrives no matter of one’s kind be it an intelligent being or an animal, such as a dog (Alien), or an android with a exact program to capture and breed the alien species (Alien) at what ever costs for rich to ripe the profits in the warfare. It’s not a worship of an kind or evolution nor a transformation. The engineer’s DNA 🧬 like a blueprint of hatred and fear towards humans joined with xenomorph’s and when it hatched it’s a perfect bio killer with one and only purpose devour. The mural is a pure depiction of the final stage of horror, a history yet to come. Beware of the beast. The ships supposed to drop their deadly cargo on Earth, the star map shows calibration waypoint to our planet and a Force, God The Creator of all living stopped the invasion. But people, our indefatigable curiosity always leads us to distraction.
@Masoom Launda People want to see aliens NOT predators NOT engineers NOt answering God questions or "where do we come from?". Dun insult the first two movies because your favorite movie director is way pass his prime.
I think it's because what we saw in Alien isn't an 'Engineer'. That wasn't a suit. But the Engineers suits are designed to look like those of their masters. Engineers are a slave caste bred/cloned from abducted humans, and sent to fetch more humans as raw material for the Xeno weapons program.
Ezekiel that is a great theory I can see how it went down on the Engineer homeworld. "Let us see how our ultimate creation is doing. NOoo bipedial creatures have taken over the planet. They must be destroyed so our creation can prosper"
I like the idea that xenomorphs may have once been advanced and created the Engineers. The biggest support for this is that the body of the Xenomorph looks very much like a mechanical suit. In Gigers original drawings, the mechanical quality is much clearer. The Xenomorphs advanced technology to merge biological machinery with thier bodies, just like the engineers did.
In my humble opinion, completely hypothetical is that the Engineers were created by a race very similar to themselves. A race that may have been going extinct and wanted to create a successor. A race that evolved naturally rather than by means of Uplift or other such engineering. The black goo was their eans of doing this, but they controlled the black goo with technology of some kind. When the Engineers, after many thousands of years, tried to do the same they turned to controlling the goo's processes by giving it themselves as a template, thus any race created by the Engineers in this way would have looked humanoid like them. However, not having full control of the goo in a technological sense, they may have accidentally exposed other life forms to it and without the proper controls, the good made them incredibly different, like the Xenomorphs. The Xenomorphs are shown to be on purpose in these movies, but I think the writers made a big mistake there. I think they should have been an accident of evolution or an accident of genetic engineering.
IMO-To "share the same dna" could range as wide as the gap between mon/key & hu/man. *2 species sharing 100% of genetic id are 1 specia & any variables mark an individual's uniqueness; not another species.
@@dulcehaze2547 enought to see they are in the same species blood line not the same but closely related. The xenomorph look more like insects with exoskeletons than humanoid.
I think the Engineers were created by another race of humanoid race. This race looked a lot like the Engineers except bigger and taller. These humanoids or Engineer 2.0 race worked together to create life on planets and created humans. In 'Promethius' Dr Shaw said that we were invited. The cave paintings depicted a being who was very tall and big. It is possible that we would have been invited by the Engineer 2.0 race , who left and we were left with the original Engineers who wanted to kill us because they were dissapointed in us and wanted to start over. In "Alien" you see the pilot in the Juggernaut ship that was carrying all those eggs. He's much bigger than the Engineer in Promethius and was probably the Engineer 2.0 race or what some have called , the Alphas. The point to the stated observation is that your theory falls apart as soon as we try to answer why the mural of the Xenomorph and the invitation. I do like the theory but the question would remain; would there be Xenomorphs that are that old where they could communicate to a human? The question of the Xenomorphs creating Engineers is about as crazy as which came first; the chicken or the egg. I don't know if anybody noticed but if you watch Promethius in the beginning. The Engineer takes the black goo and dies to bring life. The goo isn't black , it's silver. The black goo destroys life as seen in Covenant. One goo brings life while the other destroys life. Is this making any sense. If the Xeno morphs were created from something that is a product of destruction then how could they create the Engineers. The Engineer swallows the silver goo and creates life humanoid life. Which looks like them , us.
The problem is that people are trying to make sense of a nonsensical plot. At this point a couple of things should be evident. 1. Alien was never meant to be 'explained' to audiences, the whole setting with the creatures and the technology as created by Giger simply was simply meant to be and stay a mystery. The moment it's explained it's loosing its appeal. You can go back to commentary from Giger to see how far away his idea of what the Spacejockey and the creature represents is from what we've seen in Prometheus. The Spacejockey was supposed to be truly alien, inhuman and so far away from our typical imagination. Giger explained that it was mant to 'grow' out of the chair rather than to be something that is even remotely familiar with something humans know. 2. Prometheus as a script is a mess. The writers and Scott fucked up big time, and when you look at the movie it really tries to be a few things combined, which means that it sadly doesn't excell at anything. It starts as a science fiction movie, turning into a horror/slasher movie and later an action movie. But sadly nothing of it is coherent. From the moment Prometheus starts, it sets a certain tonality, but it doesn't keep it up which results in a confusing pacing. There are simply way to many plots and not enough characterisation in the movie. When ever you try to explain one situation, it is either contradicted by another or it spawns countless of other 'theories'. The idea to concentrate on the Engineers and to make a movie about them is intriguing, but the problem is that it's also loosing this mystery the moment you explain it. Just as when Lucas tried to explain the force, which was neither necessary nor helping the movie. Trying to make sense of Prometheus and Covenant is like trying to peace together a broken bottle. Even with all of the glue and tape you can get, it will not be a good bottle again and leaking trough all kinds of holes.
The original plot of alien is that the alien spices is an advanced fallen civilization, with the odd characteristic that they are feral for years until they suddenly mature that is the reason the original alien seems way smarter. The space jokey found the eggs and didn't know what they were but decided to take them to his home planet to analyse. One of them caught him, he knew he was gonna die and set up a warning signal to prevent his people from becoming infected. The first theory makes no sense without a higher engineer civilization. Artificial nano technology doesn't sprout from nowhere. The second theory could work combined with the original plot you would only have to retcon the space jokey and prometheous already did that.
I wouldn't say that it was an 'plot', it's just something that Scot speculated about in different interviews he had about Alien back when the movie was released. Another theory was the ship beeing a bomber with the Alien as wepon on it. In the book based on the movie script the idea of the space jockey are explorers, researchers, who happend to accidentaly stumble upon the eggs. There are really many ideas, and this is what made the whole mystery around it so intriguing. The moment you explain it, it's kinda uninteresting.
CrniWuk it wasn't speculation it's the actual plot written by Dan O'banon. They made an independent film based on it but the alien looked funny, they showed it to fox executives and asked for more money they got it they also got a creative boner for Geigers designs and that is how we got the alien film

I hate art of almost all kinds, but H.R.Geiger's passing quite literally tore a hole in my soul. I would love to fill up my house with his art I could look at it forever...
I always wondered about Engineer suits and how tight they were! If they are part of their body, I think this shows progression down the DNA manipulation path. The Engineers with those suits could even be the offspring of the first Deacon's blood, almost a perfect mix, yet those increased violent tendencies are still there!
I have stumbled across this content regarding the franchise because of some major deep discussion of science fiction involving the “updated cgi “ Dune. Amongst the discussion, was where and what has become of Earth in the “Dune” universe. So with that ; at some point , the conversation became bridged to deeper examination of the Alien/Predator franchisees. Watching this and grasping the “big picture” comes to only one conclusion…….Ridley Scott’s Net Worth is over 180 million dollars. Then there was another video in this same series showing the Timeline Tie-In to all of the Alien and Blade Runner (yes I just typed Blade Runner) and Predator (Yautja) Movies……the video is a masterpiece and edited well and completely eye opening. (for me ;explains my epiphany) Epiphany(definition #3-Illuminating discovery)- other people have created my entertainment and have gotten well paid……….I have nothing to show for it but an empty wallet. “My Solution “ continue to love the first 1979 Alien movie and let it die there.(Live and Let Die) Same as the Lucas/Disney franchise ; Star Wars :Rogue One and then 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope(the one where Han shoots Greedo first) and let it die there.(Live and Let Die) So , they say hindsight is 20/20……i just got schooled….. So much focus on someone else’s creativity……. my error to waste my time and money. Thank you for engaging in this deep discussion over science fiction. I have learned my lesson. Buh Bye.🖖🏻
Fantastic....this second theory that u explained bring a whole new perspective about all Alien series, and whatever it's fake or nop (i really don't think that is this what Ridley Scott had in mind while creating this serie), this theory is pretty interesting to thinking about....thank you for this video!! (sorry my bad english, i'm Brazilian ^^)
I prefer the scenario where the Engineer comes before the Alien. It’s tough, though. I think the second origin story would be a more difficult but even more fascinating yarn. They could wrap up the first idea in one movie within a few minutes. The second would take a few movies to tell…a few movies I would LOVE to see.
They said engineer and human DNA is the same. Why ever would face huggers produce a different kind of Xenomorph??? If the black goo randomly evolves living things, then how would Xenomorphs even be a target for it to produce??? Something just isn't adding up. Unless, the design is already set within the black goo to produce a Xenomorph-like creature. and if that is so, then it really would not matter, not matter animals you started with, we end with Xenomorphs. So the eggs could come from a queen or the mutated bodies of animal victims. The black goo infects things and turns them into Xenomorphs. The other stuff it does can probably just be chalked up to poor writing.
Uhh... Xenomorphs are VERY intelligent. They are not like dogs or cats. They can be trained, they can figure out how machines work, without only watching something a few times, they can figure out how to open a door with a button, and knew how to cut power and other things. Just cause they don't verbally speak, and they kill humans and other animals on sight, doesn't mean they are stupid animals. Predators, the greatest hunters in the universe, hunt them in small numbers only for a reason, and always bringing backup and a plan to wipe out the planet if needed.
I really prefer and believe the second theory that the Xenomorphs created the Engineer’s it makes so much sense! Great video, I love your Alien Prometheus & Covenant videos! 💖
I always believed that there were two factions of the Engineers that were at war with eachother and one created humans and were peaceful while the other created the xenomorphs and were evil. But I think that the theories in the video was pretty interesting
Well this is old it’s still holds some relevance as there will be a new piece to the alien saga here soon. I just cannot reconcile the timeline in this universe with the second proposed theory that Xenomorphs Created the engineers. The timeline just does not add up with that and the Muriel’s don’t depict a creator being worshiped they just depict some sort of worship. We have ancient Muriel’s of Buffalo and cows being worshiped but we know buffaloes and cows did not create civilization
What a wonderful analysis! I ve been speculating with my friend after watching convenant for hours about the origin of engineers. Then you came with all those explanations that make sense . One Last question : how can we position predators race in all this story ? Is there any link between predators and engineers?
The link is between tech using xenomorphs and a livestock species they hunted and ate. They artificially selected for strength and fierceness and it gave rise to intelligence. An early predator formed an alliance with xenomorphs then led an uprising of his kind against their captors. Then he took their technology and the predators became what they are in the movies.
One thing I would add is this Draft in Question the Orange Draft, has not been confirmed as a Official Draft and looks likely to be a Fan Edit, by someone trying to add parts to try and make sense of the Movie Plot.. But this Draft would be a Red Herring of sorts...
but what about the white snake thing that was in the "temple" room with all the black goo containers? Would that count as something the black goo itself had created as a new life form? Also, the black goo is completely different from the Gold Deacon Blood from the beginning of the movie...so...how's that work?
Plot convenience. Prometheus is like Evangelion in that the story isn't about the events seen and discussed on screen, it's about the visual metaphors those events are implying. Creator, creation. Cycles of life, death, and rebirth. Transhumanism. Ego/hubris. The nature of mankind. Ridley wanted you to tell him what his movie was about, not the other way around.
No. No. No. Simply because the Engineers have taken up the task of seeding planets with life does not conclude to the notion that they themselves are a product of similar methods of creation. Engineers should be assumed to be the highest evolved and advanced form of life within the Alien universe until otherwise proven. Seeing as evolution obviously makes these seedings viable and leads to not just humanoid lifeforms, but a vast variety of life it's best to assume, again, until otherwise proven different, that the Engineers are a product of natural occuring evolutionary proccesses to take place in an earlier period of our galaxy.
Adam Hurst Yes, the theory I like the most was hinted at by David in an early Covenant script. When speaking to Walter he mentions that The Engineers were space faring for a billion years. I like to see them as the earliest and most evolved form of intelligent biological life, naturally occurring. Pioneers in intergalactic travel and bioengineering as well as having their hands in the manipulation of all forces of nature. True elemental beings.
MrZayne I'm right with you on that aspect of the universe Alien. Prometheus offered up a depth that was never before seen in the Alien films and only lightly explored in the universe's other media, mainly relegated to a few comic book series. Personally, I think the future of the movie franchise must seek out to develop the mythology and explore the direction Ridley Scott took it in Prometheus for multiple reasons. First off, if the film franchise is to live on and not once again fade away into another multi-decade hypersleep of dust collection and wasted potential the studio must create a larger universe that consists of more than a crew of inept space faring human xenomorph incubators, a powerful yet extremely single minded evil corporation, a few systematic killing machines in the form of a handful of different xenomorph breeds, and either black goo or face huggers provided either random chance or a dick head android. The fanbase will only enjoy watching so many Alien movies that adhere to the structure found in ever single film except Prometheus. Secondly, opening up the mythology in a new and exciting way allowing for deeper plots and charter development also opens up options for spin off type films, books, and shows that can both satisfy the studio's need for profit and the fans desire for further content. This said, there is always a point that once crossed, takes the franchise from exciting and suspenseful and turns it into convaluded and absurdly idiotic. I see that point being crossed the moment the reduce the engineers from hyper advanced galactic beings to just typical humans from a different planet and earlier era created by another level of being that adds nothing original to the story
Let's keep the plot simple and naturally uncomplicated . Dr. Shaw comment "...and who created them" is tickling fans imagination I don't blame them Ridley Scott story have no structure it leaves so many plot holes and fans as intelligent that they are they are flexing their brains fixing all these inconsistencies.,. oh Lord the comments are the best parts and fans already got it .now we somebody even smarter to select the right answer and put it together.
toro64xxx As a fan I enjoy the prospect of potential future films far more than the idea that the 3 films featuring the systematic slaying of a less than prepared crew of space faring humans followed by decades of nothing. So if it takes a little convaluded complexity to inspire sustainability I'm all for it.
Can you expand on the biological differences between the robed engineers at the beginning of Prometeous and the one in the ship later on? The one that drinks the goo is mostly naked and has human features but the one that beheads David looks to have a mechanical bio-suit that is fused with his skin. You can clearly see the suit vignetting into his skin in the forearm and neck regions.
That theory actually makes a great deal of sense. I also agree with @MrHidePatten below that says that the Xenomorphs may be a failed re-creation of the Xenomorphs. If we're going to take the analogy of the Xenomorphs to humans, the fact that humans don't live forever and each person comes into the world having no knowledge of the world at all, everything must be learned and experienced before it can inform decisions. We don't know how long it took the Xenomorphs to create their very advanced civilization but we know that in human civilizations, the fall into barbarism is quite fast. It could also be that Engineers are to some degree failed creations, so it's like someone making a copy of a copy of a copy.
The xenomorph could survive in the vacuum and zero temps of deep space. Its very nature was hyper-adaptable. THAT'S what made it so dangerous -- the "perfect organism" as Ash put it (RIP Ian Holm). When it did adapt its environment, it didn't need engineers to do so (the cooling towers at Hadley's Hope pretty much establish that, and presumably the same goes for the egg chamber on the derelict). This is a non-starter, from the films' own text. Prometheus and Covenant just reinforce the notion that the engineers preceded the xenomorphs, from the 'deacon' through its various 'evolutions' David produced towards a more 'familiar' xenomorph archetype. (If you take certain cutscenes and transcripts and interviews as evidence, the engineers were an ancient race that had lost its ability to reproduce, until one of their kind came into contact with the 'gold goo' then 'giving birth' to the 'deacon' figure depicted in the murals; he was therefore worshipped for rediscovering the ability to 'procreate.' His infected blood was the substance the engineer drank in the ritual at the beginning of Prometheus, seeding new life on whatever planet that was. But, this blood was finite, and some fanatic engineers attempted to recreate it -- resulting in the black goo. Other engineers felt this was not right, and the ones seen on the 'engineer planet' in Covenant were among those who rejected the 'zealots'. Using the black goo, the 'zealots' were going to 'purify' Earth, after we executed one of the engineer's emissaries (read: Jesus Christ), but they were stopped by their own folly, until David revived them. Then, in Covenent, David turned their own weapon against them, and 'perfected' what remained until it was essentially the 'perfect being' we had all come to know from Alien...)
It’s so complicated I find it really difficult to grasp the entire concept of the time line and how the franchise has gone from step to step. I don’t think I’m alone
The same theory also allows for given enough time and space.....even more failed mistaken attempts at life will occur moving, farther away from success
Sorry to burst your bubble, but: 1. In the cambrian explosion of life, following the absence of it, no transitional version of any species were found. 2. Just the numeric possibility of producing the correct new protiens necessary to produce a viable new life form would be possible in the 70 million years of that period wouldn't be sufficient enough to produce just one.
Absolutely appreciate this theory. Read something long ago (probably some reddit alien speculation page) that suggested the xenomorphs are the most ancient and in fact FIRST species to ever arise and evolve. What we see of them now is the final stage of evolution, pure unadultered survival. Your theory pretty much takes that and runs with it. Which i feel would be far more interesting than "david made the aliens."
Weirdos!
Yes that sounds way better and I think that’s the actual truth of the matter.
@@krxwnvxk3432 There is no truth! It's a sci-fi movie script that tells a completely FICTIONAL story for profitable entertainment. "Truth of the matter". What the Hades is wrong with you?
That’s an amazing hypothesis and i am going to think that way from now on aswell
Though we do know that the line between an angel and a demon can be a narrow one...I think I would have LOVED seeing a Prometheus movie titled Paradise Lost!
"Engineers clearly Worship the Xenomorph Looking being"
Not necessarily.
This was my thought when I saw the movie.
Agree. I also don't feel they were "worshipping" them.
Conquered species on the wall as a trophy.
That makes sense
@butterybithis makes some good sense we may aswel call them " Enki " from the sumerian mesopotamian tablets wich translates to lord of earth scuit346
I don't think the Engineers are androids due to their reactions with the black goo and the impregnation from the Trilobite. The synthetics in the series never seem to be viable targets for Facehuggers, and David appears to be incompatible with the black goo judging by how he is able to handle contact with it.
That's where you went wrong.. you thinked. Stfu
@Where Is Waldo a xenomorph cant gestate and burst out of a terminator dumbass..
Facehuggers have a respiratory feature to keep the host alive. David/Ashe have no respiratory function. Also the "bleeding" is not, it's a leak of hydraulic fluid with an extensive electromechanical ligature system with a smart suface sensing feed back fau neurological system.
That Guy Wow good one dumb fuck. How about you don’t “ thinked” again for all of us
I think his point was that carbon based lifeforms were artificial life to the xenomorphs.

@@OriginalDonutposse the only thing is is that computer software and programs aren’t alive.

That's right Joe. It was blood of the Lord he drink, not a poison as this idiot suggest.
@@Phantom19913i think you're correct so david was trying to recreate the conscious xeno which is what engineers called the Deacon.
*"The giant face humper that attached to the engineer"* 😂🤣🙃
When the original Engineer drinks the gold “blood of the creator” and falls into the water, he doesn’t JUST make humans. He makes all living creatures on that planet.
Good point
That was my train of thought👍🏻

@@yakuza2123
When I first saw the movie.
I'll bet Ridley Scott is watching this and thinking "Damn....now I have to write a new story".

Dude, I really like the Alien franchise and came in contact with your channel. Really loved your content and the explanations on Prometheus!
The best script possible. Ridley Scott should take you to his team!

Technology ages and breaks down. Who says those containers were made to last over 2000 years?
With the purpose of annihilating all life in a planet to punish one species...

One of the things that people miss is also the biblical and biological or evolutionary themes that Ridley Scott features in the Alien Franchise at least Alien, and of course Prometheus or Covenant as well.
1: Bio-Mechanical Theme
Because many of the aspects are influenced literally from H.R.
2: Biblical and Evolutionary Themes
Biblical themes can be found throughout the Alien and Prometheus/Covenant movies as well. From LV 426 to also LV 223. Because of this, the scriptures goes as stated:
Leviticus 4:26
"He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the leader's sin, and he will be forgiven."
also...
Leviticus 22:3
"Say to them: 'For the generations to come, if any of your descendants is ceremonially unclean and yet comes near the sacred offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the LORD, that person must be cut off from my presence. I am the LORD."
This has been a rolling theory fans have had about the film with the Engineers obsessing with the perfect life form or organism. Furthermore this also can be stated by Ash from the movie Alien both about purity and perfection.
ruclips.net/video/1Z5sX4qC5HE/видео.html
Stating how he admires it's purity, and also it being the perfect organism.
Thoughts:
My thoughts is basically that in looking at the themes from the Alien movies at least both Alien, Aliens, Prometheus, and finally Covenant that it could be said whoever or whatever created the Engineers might have been created from an intelligence with a sense of order.

One thing I'll say, the engineers are buff!!!

They look like Vin Diesel.
They look like Vin Diesel.
It's not a suite.
It's a natural form armor
I think the premise really is: They were looking for the engineers, not be caused they were human being's creators, but because them being more advanced, they may have discovered the meaning of life and existence.
the script explains it
they looked for the engineers in search of selfish purposes as eternal life besides life meaning
the engineer as he spoke with anger he said that they took one of our kind and taught him meaning and purpose of life
as beligerant species that we are, we punished and killed him (jesus)
so they gave up on us and left us on our own fate
they had the answers, they gave us all of them, "we" didnt care at all
Life has no purpose. That's esoteric nonsense.
Just enjoy your life.

Didn't the movie say that our DNA match the engineers?
It doesn't match, there are lost of differences shown, what it DOES show is that there are matches IN our DNA to theirs, so it was not the same over all, it but it had some codes in the DNA that were the same.
the concept behind the engineers are the ufo-logically reimagined nephelim time who gave birth to Titans(fallen Angels in the period of Enoch till the Deluge in bible)
Those (according to the bible) “fallen angels” like the daughter of men back then 4000 BCE - 4200 BCE and want to have a sexual relation with them and make themselves children but that is not allowed for this type of creatures, and they do it anyway disobeying God laws . And results between human and angels was the birth of Titans.
So the Xeno’s related to nephilim
And the Engineers related to the Titans also called “warriors men of renowned”
Vh-Ali N-Teen wow.clever.
@@vh-ali_n-teen
Fallen angels.. the term is used alot and undoubtedly miss used alot too...
Vh-Ali N-Teen
That sounds like bad sci-fi.
No soma is plasma aka the holy Spirit, it will be available to those worthy soon...
If Engineers were really just androids, then how does the last engineer give birth to the Deacon?
yes true android can't give birth
Biological android... still nature, so yes... it can replicate foreign DNA cell growth.
A bit of a reach, but maybe that's the Blade Runner tie...
Or maybe this is all just a movie
David was the creator?
I think the engineer was just pissed that David awoike him from a hyper sleep! That's why he killed them..just an ever day occurance in that world! lol
@adam brown Nope. Dr Shaw pisses him off when she asked why they hate humans. Read the manuscript. Really interesting stuff.

@@CarnalKid True. That was part of it. They deleted lots of scenes, but he was insulted that the old man thought he was worthy of immortality. He appeared to be initially impressed they found him then he remembered what we were like and why they wanted to take us out in the first place.

where did "Predator" come from? They seem just as, or more intelligent than the engineers?
I agree with you

I think the original first xenomorph or "the Decon" was nothing like the xenomorphs we know now.
I guess the xenomorph God or Deacon was nothing like the Xenomorphs we know now.
_"Who Created Engineers ?"_
Ridley Scott
he bit off way more than what he could chew
@Masoom Launda People want to see aliens NOT predators NOT engineers NOt answering God questions or "where do we come from?". Dun insult the first two movies because your favorite movie director is way pass his prime.
The first movie is not entirely made by this shyt director, go check. The story, script and setting was done already.
@Masoom Launda Hi, btw, go search RUclips and the Internet, see who agrees with you. Ok bye.
But who created Ridley Scott?
It took me 8 videos from this channel to realize he slowed down his recording speed, speeding it up restored my sanity.
the real question is how come the engineers suits is made in an elephant design.
bb and the aliens sound like elephants
I think it's because what we saw in Alien isn't an 'Engineer'. That wasn't a suit. But the Engineers suits are designed to look like those of their masters. Engineers are a slave caste bred/cloned from abducted humans, and sent to fetch more humans as raw material for the Xeno weapons program.
Indian Gods.
They tried to seed elephants on earth, then when humans became the apex species they got pissed and wanted to erradicate us.
Ezekiel that is a great theory I can see how it went down on the Engineer homeworld. "Let us see how our ultimate creation is doing. NOoo bipedial creatures have taken over the planet. They must be destroyed so our creation can prosper"
all these theories are way more creative and satisfying than anything Ridley has come up with its sad
True. He mixed everything up.
The second theory doesn't hold, because in Prometheus we learned that humans and engineers share the same DNA

"The black goo" might be the same as in X - Files. . 😂😂😂.
From the space ship?
Actually this isn't so far fetched. I like it.
Raised by Wolves.... I don't know how long we're all supposed to wait to talk about that.
Which looks like them , us.
i think that to, but i think that they are like the space jockeys....anda maybe thats why they made the helmes resambling the sj
Geiger really inspired a lot of people with Geiger’s artwork! So dark!

They weren't worshiping the xenomorph. Many church's have large depictions of the devil in stained glass. That doesn't mean they're satanists.
It probably was the deacon on the mural, since that is the result of an engineer being used as a host.
LockSteady
Good point
It definitely was IMPORTANT to them, in some way/
Eivin Stensø nope its def not. its really complicated to make the deacon
I really like that 2nd theory
The world is born from chaos
I really like your first theory a lot but the second one with the way you connect it definitely sounds like something ridley Scott would go for
I just found this channel i could lose ,myself here !!!!
It's so interesting. And one more question. What is the music on the background? Link it if you know. Thanks
What a wonderful analysis! I ve been speculating with my friend after watching convenant for hours about the origin of engineers. Then you came with all those explanations that make sense
Kroft has the best bed time story voice
Yes, and the soundtrack is mysterious and lulling, too.
Ayyyy lmao true. Listening to this at 5am..
University. University creates engineers, and if the engineers have an identity crisis, they get into the finance industry

Yeah there’s a new alien film coming out soon, hoping it’s good & wishing it will explore some of the engineer stuff again lol
No. No.
MrZayne
I'm right with you on that aspect of the universe Alien.
Simple and meaningful

Can you expand on the biological differences between the robed engineers at the beginning of Prometeous and the one in the ship later on? The one that drinks the goo is mostly naked and has human features but the one that beheads David looks to have a mechanical bio-suit that is fused with his skin. You can clearly see the suit vignetting into his skin in the forearm and neck regions.
Damn, these theories are really clever.
Very nice, thanks.
It’s so complicated I find it really difficult to grasp the entire concept of the time line and how the franchise has gone from step to step. I don’t think I’m alone
I love you Krofty. You da real mvp.
If that's the case, the alien series is more disturbing than I had originally thought. What a crazy idea.. a scary one at that too lol
In an infinite universe, life (as with all things) is an inevitability
Great!
The universe is not infinte unfortunately
The same theory also allows for given enough time and space.....even more failed mistaken attempts at life will occur moving, farther away from success
@@theloffikilli4794 how u know
Sorry to burst your bubble, but:
1. In the cambrian explosion of life, following the absence of it, no transitional version of any species were found.
2. Just the numeric possibility of producing the correct new protiens necessary to produce a viable new life form would be possible in the 70 million years of that period wouldn't be sufficient enough to produce just one.
The Engineers look a lot like Vin Diesel. They could be related to Groot.
Yet one of them in the doomed planet looks an awful lot like Will Ferrell playing the part of Sonland.
The theories and deleted scenes are much better than the movies !!
Drinking game: take a shot everytime he says black goo
That's a great take on these movies, a very relevant and plausible conclusion! 👍🏻
