    As shallow as it is, you can't overestimate that part of Garbage's success was because Shirley is flat-out gorgeous. She has this very sultry kind of voice, an air of unabashed confidence in her sexuality, and either knew or was taught by the band's handlers how to put it all together and leverage that kind of sex appeal in a way that, at the time, hadn't been done since Madonna's heyday.

    The interviewer is a bit rude isn't he? He has done it on older interviews as well.
