You were right. You don't get charged now when pre-ordering the Ableton 12 upgrade. You will get an email with payment instructions or payment confirmation when Ableton 12 is released to the public.
They have a comparison chart on the Arturia website with all the differences but the main one is that the free version has 100 presets, while the paid Analog Lab has over 2000.
I've been using it since Live 7 and I don't remember such big UI changes being introduced in a single update. But maybe I'm forgetting something. Which update do you reckon was bigger?
@@aarontoalet Fair enough. I'm not saying 12 is the best update ever btw, but being able to see clips and devices at the same time and mixer in arrangement view is quite different to what we've had so far.

Biggest Update ever on Ableton??

@@LowHeatBeats I thought Live 9 was the biggest. That's when the browser was introduced. Big UI changes were made.
