    I've had my 555FX for about 10 years now and have literally cut thousands of trees with it. American holly grows here as a weed in the forests and I use this saw to cut anything from saplings up to about 8 inches diameter and only use a chainsaw on anything larger. Comes with a great harness but carrying that weight takes some getting used to at first. The only thing to gripe about is Husky's use of poor fuel hoses that rot out and can mess up the carb diaphragm, so replace the hoses every season or replace with better (black) hose material one time. I mostly use a 80+ tooth carbide blade and toss it when dull but as long as they stay about $10 on Amazon I don't mind going through 2-3 per cutting season. The Scarlett and similar Oregon steel blades also cut great but will need to be sharpened after each full day of cutting.
    So, if you're in need of clearing a lot of brush and small trees then this is the saw for you to "get after it".

      How do you like the thumb throttle vs a reguarl finger trigger throttle? This model is in the final running of three i'm looking at for a new brush cutter this year.

    We really love our 525LST l think it might be the best all around trimmer for power weight and zero vibration 👍👍

    Great tips great video. I never knew to flip the driveshaft for even wear. Thanks for sharing. I just landed a big brush clearing job and wish i had one of these for it. I’ll be using my old redmax Gz23n with brush blade instead.

      @@carlsmowerandsaw I’m actually looking into buying one if these for this job. Would you recommend I buy the 555fx or the next size down 545fr?? I don’t know if it’s worth the extra $500 for it but maybe.🤔

      @@TopNotchPropertyServiceLLC what is the vegetation being cut

    • @TopNotchPropertyServiceLLC

      @@carlsmowerandsaw this brush, vines and some small saplings. It’s very dense thick brush and prickers. Not sure exactly but it’s a very large job around a small pond out in the woods and along a stream where it’s very thick. It’s a bit taller than me in some places. I think the 545 would be fine for it but not sure if I should upgrade to the larger one just to have the extra power on future jobs. Or maybe I can buy the 545 and upgrade later if needed. They both would work way better than my old redmax.

    Thanks for this video! Is there a chance on first start brand new that it would be sounding like it's full throttle even though I'm not touching it. I start it and it feels like someone is fully throttling it.

    How would you compare this model to a Stihl FS 561?

    • @pedrobento6616
      @pedrobento6616 4 месяца назад +2

      They are pretty close in power and fuel consumption. I think Husqvarna harness is a bit better and ergonomic, and Stihl is a bit heavier, and I get the feeling that Stihl has more torque. But above all good clearing saws.

      I have not ran them side-by-side. Varna does come with a better harness system, but still does make a couple optional harnesses, which are a big improvement

      @@carlsmowerandsaw Yeah Stihl has a has harness that has a lot of customization. But I have yet to try it. It looks like it has a good ergonomics.

      I run the 561 with a Balance XT2 harness. The weight difference isn't noticeable and the Stihl has more torq.
