Beautiful Lacock and Castlle Combe with high river levels here in Wiltshire & the Cotswolds. Enjoy

Filmed January 2024 , just a few days ago.
We start this lovely video off at the 12th Century
Lacock Abbey, we don’t go into the actual Abbey grounds but we do walk you all around Lacock Abbey in a neighbouring field & we show how close flood water can get to Lacock Abbey in the felds surrounding the Abbey.
Then we take you all to the Ford in Lacock with its higher than usual water level & then we take you all to the beautiful village of Castle Combe to see not only some of the beautiful architecture but of the high river level, as we have had lots & lots of heavy rain in December 2023 & at the start of the new year 2024
The houses next to the river in Castle Combe have got there flood defences up, at there front doors, just incase the river breaks its banks .
Although we are in mid winter, Lacock &
Castle Combe are still beautiful to have a walkabout in .
This video is just to show you all how high the water level can be in the rivers after heavy rain.
We intended to go to a town near by called Bradford on Avon also here in Wiltshire, but Bradford on Avon was actually flooded in the actual town centre & the road going through the town centre was closed off according to our local radio station, so unfortunately we didn’t actually get there .
Bradford on Avon is the town where i was born back in 1961 😃
Look out for videos of Bradford on Avon in the future, as Bradford on Avon is also a beautiful & a very old town, you will be amazed 😊
Our next video will be of Castle Combe in the snow , as we have a walkabout in Castle Combe & throughout our walk/video it was snowing.
