Those Thousand helmets look so cool (stylish) but not cool (temperature). Don’t they get stuffy without more vents? I would consider getting one for winter, but I just use my snowboarding helmet when it gets cold😁
Good question. It depends on the materials, but you can take it apart and recycle it. Hopefully one day the helmets will last longer or become reuseable.
There's a really important thing not mentioned here that I didn't think about the first time I watched this video. The tightening dial plastic thing on the back, seem to wrap around much farther to the front of the helmet, compared to the older version. This is super important for people who fit the helmet front to back, but the helmet wobbles side to side. If the plastic tightening thing doesn't also go along the sides of the head, then it's just not sufficient for people with narrower shaped heads. So that is a very important and awesome update to the design.
Thanks for the additional info. I also noticed another design feature that allows the dial portion to be adjusted up and down as well. I'll post another video in the future!
@@BromptonFamilyTime - I have a narrow head, so I'm on the lookout for this particular element of helmets lol. Oh, so as the plastic bit can comfortably go under the bump on the back of the head that some people have? also women with ponytails sometimes don't want the helmet too low at the back. Very nice.
@@BromptonFamilyTime - I finally received the helmet! I must thank you for your last message! I never knew that was a potential feature in helmets, and the dial was right on the little bump on the back of my head (the inion). Changed the position and now it's awesome, sits below the bump like it should. They don't give ya much adjustment, but it was enough for me. My Giro helmet also has an adjustment there I found out. Even the user manual says nothing about it...
1:37 I like the rat on Shoko's rear wheel. 😂 BTW: How do you get a pink or other non-standard color Brompton? Do you have to get it painted at a special shop? Where and how much?
Once upon a time, long time ago, Brompton had a wonderful custom builder that allowed you to build all the components on your Brompton including the color. It would be nice if one day they relaunched it.
I had understood that the straps are not leather. The company was marketing them as made from vegetable-like material so has to promote being more sensible for the environment. You might want to check that out.
As the Brompton is a folding bike, I have an early order for a new ultra folding, Danish Helmet, "Newton Rider"! It is made by thin shelves and it is so compact that it folds more than any former helmet, but still with a fine protection.
🙋🏻♀️ Hi! I have been using Thousand Helmets way way before they gave us this helmet. And I love everything about my helmets. One time it protected my head when I had an accident. So I think it is working for me! What is your favorite helmet?
what color are the shimmery sparkles on the phantom black? is it more silver or more bronze?
I would say they are about the same. I don't have the best eyes in the world though!
I didn’t see the phantom black on their website. When is that color way available?
You have to keep checking. It is a seasonal release. I don't have the exact date at this time.

Compared to my Citibike Helmet it feels better ventilated. It is not as good as a road bike helmet but I don't have any problems with sweat.
Just wondering, can cycling cap be use under the thousand helmet? Thank youu BFT!! Love your videos!!🎉
It doesn't work well with a cap. I wouldn't wear one with this helmet.
@@BromptonFamilyTime thank you for your response 🎉🎉🎉
Nice looking brand. I see people using it in tropical Singapore so you can use in heat. I suppose if you’re just doing a chill smell the flowers ride.
What do you do with old/expired helmets? Can we just toss in the recycling bin?

I’m thinking of purchasing the helmet, thanks for making the review. Love your glasses, what brand are they?

👩🏻 Yes they call that "vegan leather"👍🏼
Its heeaaaavy, swapped mine out
Nice color! I hope the 2.0 will fit better dan the original.. I’m european.. small and long head 🙄
It’s a good looking helmet but I live in Arizona and need more vents or it will cook my brains. I went with a POC helmet with the mps tech
Nice. I wear these types of helmets during the summer and as long as I am moving I don't have a problem with sweat.
@@BromptonFamilyTime it’s 120 out here in the summer
I would probably not be riding in that heat lol or definitely plan my rides early or later in the day.
It's a shame the Death Shell carbon fiber helmet doesn't fit. What color would you buy if possible?
I was going to buy the red one so I can be found easily lol. I may still buy the larger size and use it in the winter. I like the look.
@@BromptonFamilyTime I think red suits you well~
I have a new Thousand helmet coming soon too. It's like buying shoes lol.
@@BromptonFamilyTime I'm looking forward to it!!
Aloha my braddah.

That is an interesting helmet design. It looks like it works well too.

Super awesome helmets,
They look so cool .
Might just have to pick one up myself .

It's a huge upgrade over my Citibike Helmet.

I had to shave your head,
With this emoji.
I would not trust this helmet though they sponsored this one. They don't stay tight on your head! But, they look good.
