It would be nice if Thousand offered the new padding for sale to fit in older helmets such as the Chapter helmet which is what I have and a helmet mirror. They could do so much to add accessories to their helmet that enhance safety.

Super helpful. I was worried about the vents looking a bit more silly on the newer model (taking away from the look of the former model), but they're farther back on the head, so front on you can't even really see them. On the sides you see a bit but not much, and then the back you see a lot more but whatever. If the helmet is black, they also wouldn't stand out much at all.
My current Giro very ventilated MIPS road bike helmet is 290g
The Heritage is roughly like 460g for medium (getting all sorts of numbers).
So it's like adding an extra half of my current super-light helmet in weight. That sounds very manageable for me. If I wanna sweat it out and go fast as heckkk, or the day is still really hot when the sun is almost gone (screw UV rays), then I'll wear my Giro (extra safety features too, not that I ever ride in concerning ways). The rest of the time I would prefer to be in a helmet that matches the vibes of my Fuji Feather and my OneWheel.

Good points, the new design does a good job of hiding the vents so it retains that sleek look. As far as weight, this is still a very comfortable helmet despite being ~450g range. For me, once a helmet approaches 600g (Unit 1 Faro with integrated lights is an example of a really heavy helmet) it becomes noticeable on your head and uncomfortable on longer rides.

@@TheSweetCyclists - Okay that sounds good then.
It's also not SO much ventilation that it becomes unpleasant for winter riding, by the looks of it. Not that it gets super cold where I am in Australia, especially once riding, but still lol (more applicable to electric devices. Cold for me!).
Still getting the original helmet since it's on (big) sale and is the only one available here, but now I'm not compelled to buy 2, in fear of not liking the newer version.

@@Siberius- Yea, the venting is a good compromise. Something like the Lazer Tempo is a good option for cheap + ventilated helmet even though it's less stylish. Enjoy the original Heritage - it's a great time to buy it as they are trying to clear out inventory for the Heritage 2.0.

@@TheSweetCyclists - There's a really important thing that I missed with this helmet at 4:50. I mainly jumped to how it looked on your head with the vents, having already watched a review on the helmet, but they didn't mention this at all.
The tightening dial plastic thing (cradle?) on the back, seems to wrap around much farther to the front of the helmet, compared to the older version. This is super important for people who fit the helmet front to back, but the helmet wobbles side to side. If the plastic tightening thing doesn't also go along the sides of the head, then it's just not sufficient for people with narrower shaped heads. So that is a very important and awesome update to the design.
I completely rely on the plastic thingy in my current Giro helmet so as it's not super loose side-to-side, and it fits awesomely. All the other helmets I tried in the store were not designed narrow enough.
Edit: Just imported a 2.0 from the U.S. I already had an order from a place in the works (they were waiting or something to come in), and checked if they had the helmet, and they actually did. Added it to my existing order.

The old style vents got a lot of complaints about a whistling noise when riding. Especially for riders with a head down position. {mountain/racing bikes} The new vent alignment stops this. I think the old vents look better and if you sit upright you don't get the whistle, but I would not wear the helmet if it did. So the new alignment makes sense.

Hey there. What is the diameter of the pop lock hole? My lock is 1.25 inches in diameter and want to know if it would fit.

Thanks! Glad the review was helpful for you. The sunglasses in the video are one of our favorite - the Smith Boomtown (cool name right?). The full review for those can be found here - ruclips.net/video/cqgFC3RpZzE/видео.html.

@@TheSweetCyclists Thanks! Thousand also let me know the attachable magnet light should be available tomorrow.

@@SergioSF No problem. Yes - the new light should be dropping soon. I'm still confused as to why they didn't re-use the Thousand Chapter helmet magnetic light but they claim the new one should have a better user interface. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on a light as well for a review.

I have a 58cm head and found the medium helmets to be comfortable. Thousand's fit guide is here - explorethousand.com/pages/fit-guide

Hi, have you tested in summer? which one is cooler?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  10 месяцев назад +1

The updated version is definitely cooler than the original Heritage as the 2.0 has larger vents.
