Over 30 years he filled that venue to capacity 97 times.they named a room after him. They said he could have the sign when they rebuilt. He was going to put it above his bed, but his wife said no.

During the height of his career in the 80' and 90's and 2000's, John would fill Australia's biggest venues extending dates over and over again. In fact he held the record for highest numbers of ticket sales ever in Australia, even outselling the likes of Michael Jackson and Billy Joel, who where touring at the same time. It took 20 years for Pink to finally breaknhis record. Every concert John ever did was spectacular. Every one in his band where the cream of Australian musicians. And it was unheard of to have the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra backing up a Rock Star in those days...he was definately one of a kind.
And he is still jusy as popular today. Last week he had 12 top the top 20 spots in the australian album charts after a special on his life was shown on TV. And same a again a couple of months ago when it was shown at the movies. The movie broke box office records and the TV show topped the ratings as well.
He is Australia's biggest Music Industry Icon ...also know affectionately as THE VOICE

For another high energy performance of one of his own songs
Check Out Pressure Down from the Chain Reaction Concert
And another favourite of mine from the late 80's... is
Number One. He originally recorded it on 1969. m.ruclips.net/video/FdNEKwMf1LQ/видео.html

There is nothing this great legend can’t sing. Thanks heaps for the amazing reaction I enjoyed it. Should check him singing a cover of “black dog” during a sound check

Any song from this concert is epic. Have a listen to Age of Reason or Playing to Win to name a few. He is just wonderful.

This was an epic concert, John Farnham, his band and the full Melbourne symphony orchestra. You can't get better.
You still have a long way to go, John can sing anything, from Opera to rock, blues to pop. He also did a musical called Jesus Christ Super Star. That was also epic.
Another concert to check, he was in his 50s, is " The main event" this concert he sang with Olivia Newton John and Anthony Warlow. I saw this concert in Darwin in 2001, i will never for get it, totally amazing.
Please keep reacting to John Farnham, i love your reactions.

One of the reactors said a while ago... most singers have a band to fill in where their voices leave a gap. This guy is complimented by this orchestra, no fill ins or cover-ups needed.

Farnsey's concerts are epic. His voice is off the charts. I think this was at the end of concert that went for about a two hours. He's singing with the MSO, (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) I second George's comment, check out Black Dog. It's an audio only sound check that someone recorded.👍

Yes, AC/DC song. Colloquially sung as “It’s a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll”.
John Farnham (pr. Farn’am) is Farnsie - like Jimmy Barnes is Barnsie. Seek their duets, and “Help” and “The Voice” from this concert.
Also known as “The Voice” and “Whispering Jack”.
Classic Jack Live! (subtitled "John Farnham and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra") is a DVD release by Australian singer John Farnham. The DVD was of an “Age of Reason” concert performance in 1989. at the National Tennis Centre, Melbourne (Capacity 16,000) MSO conducted by Dobbs Franks.
It was released by Sony BMG in Australia on 13 November 2005 in conjunction with Chain Reaction Live in Concert.

Just a quick comment, have a youtube search for Farnham's cover of 'Black Dog'. As far as I know this was some sort of warm up\sound check that he and the band did, (don't quote me on that), but it's brilliant.
