I bought a Surefire can for my Hellion from Silencer Shop around the same time as your first one, which took around 8 months to process. The delay may have been caused by an influx of stabilizing brace holders trying to register theirs before the ATF rule was judged unconstitutional. The phone app was hard to understand until I realized that various portions of it only became active after you've completed the previous step. Overall, I'm wicked happy with my gun shop and their association with Silencer Shop. The app lets you take your photo for upload, and the kiosk is great for taking your fingerprints.
Submitted my form 4s through the kiosk at my local shop. It took 16 minutes from getting my login to completing the forms (1/11/25). 48 hours later (11/13/25) and all five were approved.
I would say if your local shop has their stuff together, go do the kiosk.
Heck yeah. Im gonna file me up a Velos lbp here soon. Very helpful information.
Glad it helped!
Silencer Central made it extremely easy. They ship directly to your home. There was no 3rd party involved.
I bought my B&T print X 7.62 through SS oct 2 and certified oct 22. I filed individual and I am still waiting on tax stamp approval going on 8 weeks. It’s my first can. I know people get testy when you complain about 8 week + approval but it was pretty well advertised as a one month wait time on individual forms
My paperwork went in Monday on my Ventum 762 and it came back yesterday so less than 4 days
From what I’ve been able to discern from silencer shop is that they have way too many extra hoops to jump through with docusign bs and certify this and that. I’ve seen a form 4 completed in 5 mins at a local shop. I get that some people only have ss for an option but I would seek out a shop that does everything in house. It’s worth not dealing with ss
I just buy them from LGS and get the stamps from SS. Even then SS slow walks it certification for a week or more.
What’s your take on the unlimited single shot trust option from Silencer Shop?
I haven't tried their Trust yet, so unfortunately I can't comment
I did prints myself during covid and the cards looked like dogshit. I couldnt get in for prints for over a month so did myself. They approved them and was suprised as how bad they looked and smear marks all over
Good to know for anyone out there reading this and is debating doing their own! Thanks for the feedback
Oof just ordered one form silencer shop. Hopefully doesn’t take too long.
I mean, at the end of the day, it's not like it's a TERRIBLY long wait. It's just longer than what it can/should be. And when you've dropped hard earned dough on something, you want it sooner rather than later
Took 107 days for me. It was an individual as well.
Silencer shop and my local dealer both neglected to notify me. Silencer shop didn’t update me via online and still have not and my local shop didn’t call or email me either of my suppressors approval. I went into my local shop to apply for a form 1 (sbr) they took my license and to my surprise the manager told me that I had been approved 6 weeks prior. It Sucks that no one bothered to update me. I’m glad that I got my first suppressor but very disappointed that nobody bothered to tell me. If I had not visited my local shop there’s no telling how much longer my wait would have been.
So I know Silencer Shop never notifies you, but you should have received your confirmation email from the ATF when they approved your forms.
I can't say that I've ever had a dealer neglect to tell me because I typically call them within 5 mins of receiving the approval email to tell them I'll be in shortly to pick up my can. Lol
