I just love Richie Kotzen's playing so much. I think he's quite an underrated player, even though he did have quite a bit of exposure in the '80, he separated himself from all the shredder scene and went to try to find his own voice. He's just amazing at playing, singing and composing. And it's great seeing a rock guitar player with long hair nowadays for a change!!!

Mister Mann the only scale that he knows is the pentatonic minor or his version of that i should say but it’s cool cause he uses the c sharp and the d sharp in a minor so thats why he sound so good in the key of a or any key for that matter he uses that same shape for any scale

Unlike the 80's, they now take your hand & walk you through massively technical guitar techniques on the net. it took us years to invent. We had to sit&rewind tapes or, just play scales. When I'd practice I wouldn't put my guitar down until I learned something new & mastered it. "Heres to all guitarists that got good by relying ourselves and our mind!" 80's guitarists made this allpossible for your generation. ~Rexx Michaels~

To my recollection, there also wasn't a ton of tab available back then. Most of the complete transcriptions back then were in musical notation, and had to be purchased. I remember some bits of tab covering various exercises in magazines like Guitar Player and such, but very rarely complete songs. Let alone complete song tabs available online for free.

@@mifune9634 There was a bit of tab but you were at the mercy of the three/fround songs in Guitar for the practicing musician that came out monthly. Guitar player was a much inferior magazine as it only had excerpts. Once in awhile they'd also release some tab books for a complete album but these were of usually dubious quality but would get you in the ballpark. We had to figure stuff out by rewind and if you were lucky a fostex that could play at half speed.

Ritchie is insanely gifted.. great singer with out of this world guitar technics.. check what Nuno Bettencourt said about him after one of his concert.. when a guy like Nuno who can do absolutely anything with his guitar tells you that what you did during the concert is beyond what he saw any other guitar player do in years gives a clue about the extent of Richie's talent.. and he is not talking about technic but tone, vibrato, soul, creativity, expressiveness

you gotta remember, Lynch is a lot older than the 2 other whipper-snappers. Heck! I remember hearing him with Dokken LONG before these 2 were even a twinkle in their mama's eye. His brain doesn't fire off as quick as theirs. Plus, guitar-ing has advance so incredibly from the time when he was the fastest gun around. I remember moving to Canada from Jamaica as a boy and seeing/hearing Lynch....he was the Bees Knees!!! Still, all that being said...I absolutely loved some of the things he pulled off. I don't expect him to be able to keep up to PG and Kotzen. It was a bit umcomfortable watching him having to concentrate so hard on how to play something remotely as interesting/complex as the other two...then watching him hand off the spotlight back to the next soloist, all the while having a look on his face like, "Was that ok guys?"I loved all 3!!!

As a soloist, he has a fusion album, a blues album, an acoustic album, a shred album, a blues oriented instrumental album, a couple of fusion songs, an Anime Soundtrack album, some 70's rock oriented albums... and he's 41 YO....

George is definitely original, and you can obviously hear it and it makes the solos interesting, but he has a ways to go when it comes to jamming with others. I saw this live here in SD.I hate to say it but George made a mistake of accepting this gig.But I'm real proud of him of showing the world that he has something to offer. This is a headcutting kinda deal.Who's better and who's worst. It's a competition. But George is still awesome! He'll never say I can't!
