    You are working very well with the builders. So important to be with them everyday so that you can fix/rebuild things as you go along while having a great relationship with them. Old stone houses will always have wonky bits and pieces, part of their charm. Going over everything at the end of the day on your own is also important to make sure you have things where you want them. Good work all round.

    I want to thank you for thinking of refreshments and hydration for the workers. Even in the U.S there are still employers that don't think of their worker's needs this way. My dad had a landscaping business and he always made sure his workers had cooling breaks, water and food. But there are some mean employers that still don't think of worker's rights so thank you for doing this you guys.

    Years ago my husband got me an aloe plant in a 4inch pot. I live in PA. I take it out every summer & try to find takers for all the new shoots. It’s so big now, it’s in a 1/2 barrel planter. It’s gone thru so much & survived, including flipping upside down from being top heavy, before it was up-potted. It has branches that almost 2 feet long.

    WOWSA ! Now, I have an inclination of whomever may have built my house in Michigan. Basement walls for foundation are nearly 2 feet thick! ( 1934 ). Took me weeks to chisel out a hole for the drains to go thru to septic! I was in 5th grade at the time, all with hand tools, no fancy
    drills back then for us . Sure was good training for patience.

    • @gafairbanks2434
      @gafairbanks2434 Месяц назад

      (Side walls)
      It did seem unusual that they did not place rebars into side's bricks or DIP them INTO WATER, to clean them, as Andi stated. THAT'S ALOT OF CEMENT WEIGHT ATOP !
      Hopefully, they somehow adjoined floor to the side wall with a stronger rebar.

      Honestly, I'm a fan of all of it. I really enjoy seeing a sequence at the end of the video that showcases everything that got done, it's great seeing the kitties and you and Drew enjoying each day together, there was a super cool shot of the crew's truck backed down to the mill on a crazy angle, the lushness of this season and all the lovely green things and tumbling water, and when you have them, drone shots that show how the mill fits into the landscape. I think I'm going to have to figure out how to leverage my Spanish into conversational Portuguese because you've done such a wonderful job showing the Algarve. Fun dreams for the future. Oh, and PS LOVED the Jazz soundtrack on this one. :D

    Another fabulous video! What a blessing to have this crew who not only work hard for you, , but work well WITH you! Its always so interesting to see the ways, methods and materials that are commonly used around the world compared to a remodel job here in the States! All the bricks, blocks, rock and cement is completely understandable with the woodworm and molds you have over there. No wonder buildings stand for centuries over there!
    I definitely will pray that you won't have to wait that long for power, or water! Thankful you do have the option of generators in the meantime! I loved the Angel clouds! I've seen some amazing ones too! Loving reminders... The meal with your friends looked amazingly delicious, and I can only imagine how wonderful it smelled!!!

    I find myself repeating myself. The work you and your crew are putting, is absolutely fenomenal.👏👏Those Ukrainians really have a good handle of the Portuguese language, which I know first hand is not easy, especially the grammar. I only realized how difficult it is when my daughters started asking me the “whys and “why nots “and frankly, most of the time I couldn’t answer because my grammar rules had long gone out the window.🤣🤣 Yeah, those half metre european stone walls are no joke. Your kiddies have come a long way. 🇨🇦🇵🇹

    Great progress.. I’m so glad you are on-site every day. Picking the wall problem on the spot was a good save. Now that the stairs are going in I can finally visualise what you are doing😂
    Cheers and good luck moving forward 🌸🌸

    Drew be mindful that they aren’t creating channels and cavities that may compromise the structural integrity of those walls. It’s great to see this beautiful property become blessed with your love of caring for it!

    Hey guys, mashed turnip and carrot is delicious. A little butter and and brown sugar or maple syrup makes it perfect. The house looks amazing!
