That you bring such different groups of people from all over working together is one of recent favorite things we have enjoyed. Seeing the connection in this world today is what we very much need.
I’m so impressed with Drew’s kindness, hard work, ingenuity, integrity, (etc, etc!)…he’s such an amazing husband to the most empathetic and loving woman on earth. It’s a joy to see both of you building your dream home together because of who you both are. 🙏🏼
Very impressive Britt! I used to climb doorways as a kid like that. As a 59 year old, I would be lucky to get 3 feet off the ground with my wonky joints. 😂 Enjoy your mobility and flexibility while you still have it. 💞
We met Drew’s dad on a bike trail near a campground in Traverse City three years ago & just started chatting. He alerted us to your RUclips videos & we’ve thoroughly enjoyed them ever since. Your enthusiasm & energy are amazing!
Whoo hoo!! One more dream almost accomplished. You guys are amazing. ❤ Yes, RUclips is definitely a “foreign object” in rural Portugal. Thank you for bringing to light the magnificent skills that the old Portuguese generation has. 🇨🇦🇵🇹
Hi guys, watching your videos reminds me of what my wife and I went through 14 years ago. We live in a 16th century water mill here in the south west of France. Last June a thunderstorm with very heavy rainfall caused a landslide destroying much of the ground floor. These thunderstorms are expected to be more and more violent in all over Europe. So when I see those steep hillsides right above your house it scares the heck out of me. You should plant grass, shrubs, and anything able to stabilize the soils on those terraces. Fire is not the only issue. But I do like your enthusiasm and the positive vibes you send, so don’t let anything get into your way. There are no problems, only solutions.
Thank you for kind, wise and encouraging words. We will execute with care and enthusiasm. So far we’ve planted grass seed since the summer will be harsh to any new plants, but once the fall and spring are here, we will be getting more roots in the ground. Also, we slanted our terraces, made gullies/gutters and installed a cement irrigation system throughout our land, so that helps too 💪🙏❤️
great example of communicating what's going on and how it's effecting you. Reinforcing healthy boundaries. An authentic and healthy couple. Grateful to see your dream progress and how well you two respectfully work together.
Those tanks are wonderful, what a resource for the future. I love the fact that we can see how things are done and built and enjoy the workers you meet!
Question: When all is done will you invite all the workers and their families for a THANK YOU PARTY? For THEY need to know how much they are appreciated from you and us on YT.
In an area that's prone to wildfire and drought, it's ALWAYS better to err on the side of caution and get extra if you can. You can guarantee you'll need the extra.
Water is such an important commodity that many people take for granted…and is still in short supply in the Algarve so I can imagine how excited you must feel to have these tanks in place! 💧💧💧💧
I see a fun and beautiful art project ahead with those two tanks. What a fun area that will be. So much goes into making a place a home and work well and you guys do such a great job of sharing it all with us. Thanks and blessings. Loved the part when Drew was wondering where he was going to sleep and Brittany said she was too! Kitties rule!
Every thing you do, you do it so well! Thanks to all the local trades people who take pride in there work. It’s all going to be a show care for all their talents and your beautiful dreams coming true.🙏🏻💕👏
@@Mrandmrsadventure Amazing tank system. How did you find out about these cement tanks? are they common in your region of Portugal? Seems like every off grid home should use these long life tanks which can stand up to bad weather & fires. Great job to the crew that put these in & you guys with planning this all out & pumping the water up the steep hill to these tanks! More info on these cement tanks please! See you guys next week (with your next vd) take care until then. ps love that you were wispering while your cats were sleeping LOL Cats RULE every home LOL. 💤💤💤💙
This was fantastically exciting to witness another great accomplishment! This was definitely "butterfly worthy"! With love and prayers, from Donna in Florida....🥰
Wow Im impressed Drew you cover a lot of ground sorting the hoses out, young and fit! The clamps on those chains are massive and amazing how they clip on and support all that weight. Hats off to both of you for all the decisions you make, I really struggle with making decisions now. The kitties on the bed so cute x
That is awesome Drew and Brittany 😊❤ all the people involved working on your home can now see themselves on your channel! They probably feel like movie stars 😅 great work that has been accomplished on the land. Much love to you both 🤗😘❤🙏
That’s an excellent idea to make that and work out area and when you reach the top, you could do like a rock climb up it and you’d be so proud of yourself and hang a hammock or swing in the middle. That would be awesome and plant some wildflowers around there, maybe sunflowers and then invite some of us to come out and visit we would love to and we would pay to it would be gracious. We’re so excited. I know other people feel the same way I do. I feel blessed to watch young people into a beautiful marriage.
Another huge job accomplished. Great. I was impressed with Brittany climbing the tanks. Don’t think I could ever do that. Also…you two skateboarding …wow.
Your Portuguese must be getting really good now! Between your lessons and actually speaking to Portuguese people in different scenarios you must be learning very fast! It is always great to learn a new language! The tanks look great. You must be feeling so much safer now. Or you will once all the lines and sprinklers are put in! Fire prevention planning is even more important for where you live! Way to go guys! Have a great week!❤️🙏🏼👋🏻🇨🇦😎🫶🏼
Wow, I am a very long time fan, once toting you in to 100 K and now look at all the subscribers! Lots of love to you both! Love the progress on your mill too!
It's amazing how much those new terraces have added to your property. It creates so much space out of a slope that you couldn't really use. It's definitely a huge improvement.👍
Wow, another Great video. I think you are so right about showing the workers doing their jobs so friends and family can see. But , actually I also find it so interesting as well. I love to see how different people have their unique ways of doing things . I think the choice was right to put two tanks together and add another at a later date. Cannot wait to see the progress inside the mill. Thank you again. I will be on edge to see next weeks video. Love from Switzerland. Mathew
Hey guys , my understanding is on the concrete or any water tanks is the water will get stale sitting in the tank for a long time, so run the water between the two tanks constantly and filter the water coming out for use.
Hmmm 🤔 we will see and improve the system if need be. The idea to cap it is so it won’t evaporate. We hope to hold it incase we need it this year and next year use it for irrigation purposes.
Wow! Some big work got done this week! That’s super cool that the workers can watch with their families to see what they’ve helped you create! and very impressive climbing skills, Brittany! Proud of you! Love from Mary in SoOC💗
hi guys i just found you and i love the way you see things and look at each other with love and respect i cant wait to see whats next takecare from canada.
Love how you used a bit of sand to level the cement water tanks. That should work especially well on soil and definitely when it rains.. Leaning Tower of Pisa springs to mind. Good luck, I do love what you are doing and the house is looking amazing.
Hi guys, things are certainly coming along there. Have you considered a Ram pump to get the water from the creek up to the tanks using the power of water as energy source.
Great job with the water storage. Tanks always seem huge when you put them in, but once you start using them, you always want more water. I have learnt after a few times to always put in more water storage than you think you will need. Or leave room to put in more later when you have the time and money.
I would add another pump or two ASAP. For the time being, 2nd pump in the middle of the hoses! 3rd pump, (when financially convenient, lol) at two 3rds, after moving #2 back towards #1! Try to do this in thirds! This will prove useful, especially during fire season! With that in mind, figure out a safe, shaded dry, cool, way to store 40-50 gal of gasoline! Be sure to use a gas treatment such as "Stabil!" Also in everything gas powered! Makes gas last much longer and prevent carbs from gumming up! Crap gas these days! Thrilled on progress bonding with all 3 kitties! I think Tom is actually their leader! Lol😂❤
I don't remember when you got the grill, but that's a great idea. I love the taste and the smell of grilled vegetables and meats. All the best....bon appetite

Those tanks are wonderful, what a resource for the future. I love the fact that we can see how things are done and built and enjoy the workers you meet!
I think to paint the two tanks green to blend into the landscape would look great.

In an area that's prone to wildfire and drought, it's ALWAYS better to err on the side of caution and get extra if you can. You can guarantee you'll need the extra.
I think you should consider putting a retaining wall around the tanks so that, after years of rain, the earth will stay in place instead of eroding 🙂

I’m so excited about the water containers. It’s such a monumental upgrade for your property and for your plants and trees.
Literally pouring sweat and tears into this job. Very impressive ❤❤
We are so glad ~Drew that you and ~Britany are in love with yourselves, each other and the Watermill. Blessings dear ones🌱

Lovin' the progress guys! 💕💕💕
That was cool Brittany! You looked like a female super hero ❤
Great as always 🌸
You need a solar controller for a ram pump that will turn on the one way valve up to your tanks to pump water when a water pressure sensor in the tank triggers that the refill is required. The water pressure sensors can be Wi-Fi or direct wired into float on top of the water with a small micro solar panel on the top of the tank. It then sends a signal to the pump controller to then open the intake for ram pump. The ram pump can just use pressure from the flow of your creek to run. Very effective low tech equipment combined with high tech solar and sensor. I have seen one ram pump inaction to pump to three different locations higher up the hill side over 100m than the pump location using solar microcontroller systems. When not needed the system can be shut off and the water flow of creek not be affected and the pump silenced. Seen these types of systems in use in Indonesia, Philippines, Borneo and in Australia.
Hell of a lot quieter to fuelled or electric pumps plus more fire resistant options. You can have a manual override to a run a sprinkler high pressure irrigation type watering system to cover house roof with constant water mist when under threat of fires.
Additionally you should consider installing down pipe stoppers at about a meter high on your down pipes so you could flood the down pipes and gutters to further protect house from embers.
Anyway do you have a plan to address the eucalyptus trees near your van and the high eucalyptus fire load that I can observe at the top of the terrance slope, along the upper roadside and on the other side of your valley. Just an Aussie who survived Ash Wednesday 1983 bushfires but also lost family then and most recently lost friends and family as 2009 Victorian Bushfires. 3 million acres burned in one day. Learn lessons from Australia that we have did the hard way. There were state & federal investigations ie royal commissions into the 1983 SA & VIC fires and property protection was put into building codes. Things like 15 meter clearance of highly voc trees from dwelling which I know Portugal has similar requirements. Your evacuation plan needs cover when you leave along with what you do when you can’t. Have you in the project planning included a last resort emergency shelter into your building redevelopment? Portugal and wildfires is like Australia and bushfires - It is NOT IF but rather WHEN IT happens.
Another major project done.. As I see it ur doing everything correctly.. great job guys.. enjoy my Sundays better now!!!!
We enjoy all your work. . . Water! 🎉❤
Brittney, I see clearly that you are a total cat person I love seeing them all cuddled in your bed, and hear how sweetly you talk to them. Way to go you two!
Loved this video guys, well done!
I absolutely love your work and the wonderful energy you both have. If you weren't so far away, I'd definitely love to visit and spend some time with you. Your pleasant vibe is truly inspiring! ❤
Gran trabajo!❤❤❤❤
I've been following for quite some time and really have enjoyed all of the magnificent upgrades you have done. I would like it, if you could really build your kitties a Watermill outdoor upgrade for all weather.
Drew and Britney I'm glad that you are back from the short vacation into Iceland 🇮🇸 and those cement water rings are great but I'm also surprised by the fact you didn't halfway put them under ground and I'm also in the process of getting things finished on a experiment of drip irrigation for my avocado tree's and also thinking about doing it in the Vinyard AKA a one men army doing it
Que suerte tenéis de que allí os llueve .En el mediterráneo de Valencia solo sol y calor todo el año y miles de turistas .
Awesome have a look at Three Moon Silos in Monto Queensland...they are amazing. While away on holidays driving I said out loud I want to see some silos and within 30 seconds I came across them.
Oh wow! Love the idea of painting a mural across the 2 silos! Thank you for sharing 🌝💖
Just joined hi from new Zealand ❤
You are getting so close. How’s the inside ? Are y’all going to cover the red brick on the outside side tower?
What a water tank. You care do for your property and working always for and with environment. Have you already have furniture for inside.? Blessings on❤️🙏🏻❤️
Massive project well done
