- I got a call for a Ford Superduty that was stuck in one of the few mud holes we have in Central Oregon, so I took old faithful to see if I could pull it out. The truck didn’t look that deep in the mud, and all the tires were free, so I thought it was just high centered on the axles and would be easy to pop out with the Yankum Ropes. I have two really good pulls on the rope and the truck didn’t budge an inch, so I changed my game plan and winched him out from the side with the @harborfreight Apex winch so that his tires would
climb the side of rut and help lift it off of the ridge in the center. That worked and got him almost all the way out, so I repositioned and pulled him forward to get the rest of the way to solid ground.

It's kind of odd that with the hemming and hawwing of which rig to bring, it was Casey's choice of footwear that became the biggest problem.
Well, he never said he was good at this!
😂🤣
Rubber boots, rubber boots, rubber boots...
I have to admit, I had to laugh when I saw you pull those soaked socks off.
You're a very kind person, Casey, to go through that kind of discomfort to help out stranded folks!
@@gordonmurray3153 Same story here on the other side of the big pond, in the Netherlands. :-)
@@gordonmurray3153 Yes, I noticed the same on Matt's videos. Looks like they made a huge difference to the amount of view through the windows of the Morvair, especially since they still haven't installed the windscreen washers. :-)
I'm sure windshield washers have a
_Priority_ spot on the TO-DO list ,
. . . right behind a "Customer's Keys"
hook on the dashboard , and
right behind a _WORKing_ FUEL
Guage ( with warning _SIREN_ ;

Tall rubber boots are needed for that.
@@shabadoo24 What Casey needs is two pairs of dry socks in every vehicle .. Two? We have seen him do multiple recoveries before heading home in what he thought would be a single recovery.
Right when I seen you winching from the front, I was like yup his feet and legs are soaked now. God bless you man and everything you do for your community.
Casey in my opinion I don't think it really matters which vehicle you use because as you have proven you will always get the job done no matter what.
Your think outside of the box style always pays off well because you can be creative and adapt to any situation
You are one of the best recovery operators in the world and I'm glad you do what you do I enjoy your channel very much!
Same sentiment, I hate mud! It's not only a pain to recover in, but then depending on the situation it could be hours/days of cleaning it out of everything.
I always have a very small water tight bag with extra wool socks/long-johns/glows/cap and a couple of reflector-blankets, in my car. In 30 years I've used it once for my self, but a bunch of times assisting people on the road.
Great demo on the recovery ropes even if not quite what was needed. You could see all the stretch when Casey tried those two pulls. The rope got tight and his truck kept going. So all that pulling force was still there even when he stopped. That's the beauty in a stretchy rope made for the purpose. No hard instant peak of force to snap the typical strap, cable or chain. But a long drawn out pulling force. Works way better!
Those 360° cameras are amazing! They make it look like you have an actual cameraman filming for you.
Dude I love what you do I love how you help people you are a good man and a good-hearted person God bless you I live in New York I currently live in my RV full-time looking for work I used to work doing Towing for a tow truck company God bless you and have a great day
My feet are cold just watching this, yikes! Great job Casey.
Love your videos and how you help people 👍
I've tried watching other well known recovery people/ videos and they just seemed to many people and more like a performance.
You and Grumpy are great or when you're clearing public lands or do a camping trip it seems more real 👍
Greetings from Scotland 🏴🇬🇧
Hi Casey. A lot of people are looking at 4 wheel steering for recovery work, but a truck that can fold itself into a right angle (see 9:18) has such an incredible ability to get into awkward places. Is that a Ram factory option????
Seriously though, keep up the good work.
9:18 is a great camera angle. Good spotting Michael Causer
Note to self new towing item waders 😜 have a great day Casey
Love this video, it shows how much you care about people. You absolutely hate mud but, you are willing to go out on a very cold day, walk into a freezing puddle, hook up and pull out someone who you don't know. Casey you are a blessing to people, thank you for these videos.
Casey I can honestly say you do love doing this recovery job.😅
Good morning Casey. I am just over the hill in Gold Hill, Or. Yes, it is cold morning! 14 deg at 7:00 am. At my age 80, I do not like COLD !!!
I was a little concerned when it did not budge at first, but then you winched it from the front which broke it loose. Way to think on your feet, even when they are wet and cold!
Nice job!👍😎 You are always so kind to the people that you help😊 Keep up the great videos and stay safe out there!❤️🙏
I have learned from recoverys in snow and rivers,... extra socks and boots in the truck can be life saver. When feet get cold life is no fun. Awesome job on the recovery! It's always the ones that "LOOK EASY" can be the most difficult.
Totally agree about the mud. Snow and cold anytime.
GOOD JOB! Poor Casey that had to be miserable.
BE SAFE!
KEEP YOUR HEAD UP! 👍
Hello CASEY just love your towing vids take care Barry New Zealand
He was this close to making it through the mud puddle. Thankfully those straps and chains didn't hurt anyone last night. The winch was the tool for this job. Any winch on any of your trucks would do!
You should add a pair of waterproof insulated wader boots to your recovery gear you keep on the truck.
You should get a set of thick boot foot neoprene waders. They will help in the water and also can be used in snow and ice to keep dry while crawling under vehicles.
Out here is is extremely common to see upside down rubber boots stuffed between the box and the cab of pickups. It’s like that gap was made for them. We have lake bottom dirt.
Take wellies! Your dedicated to your trade, thanks for the videos.
You are a trooper Casey walking into that mess with no tall boots. I absolutely hate mud too, I am not looking forward to all of our snow melting off here.
Anyone that has worked outdoors for a living has been in that predicament. The one day you don't take your knee boots you're going to be kicking yourself while standing shin deep in mud, water or whatever else you have to work in to get a job done. Glad you got him out safely. I think other areas of the country are getting your share of snow right now, hopefully some will come your way. Stay safe and GOD bless
🎉Thanks for your hard work and entertaining my time 🎉
YAY!!!! You're FIRST!!!
I like it when you show what a chill dude you are
Casey you need a pair of muc boots to help with the mud that you might find yourself in. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
Another great video. Authentic and informative, as well as being entertaining.
I really enjoy how you anthropomorphize your vehicles and other things, like “The TrackJeep looks so sad.”😂
I'm not even built for that kind of cold. I did the Canadian Rockies (Vancouver to Calgary via Jasper) in 2014 in the lead up to Christmas and that was stupid cold. Being muddy and cold would be my worst nightmare!
It’s always a flashback watching your adventures and remembering hunting trips in the outback of Washington state stuck in mud holes n snow back in the 60s best time of my childhood. Love your work and you brother ❤
Thanks Casey for more great content. Two words for you “ muck boots” 😂😂 have a great day.
So Wise , Thank You . Another fine rescue .
Always a good day when you drop a video.
Love the 7.3, very distinctive sound
Hey Casey !! A pair of boots in the rear of the truck would sure HELP !! HAHA Great job anyway !!! 🤔🙄👀👀👍👍👍👍👍
For someone who "doesn't know what he's doing?",you made that look easy?if a little messy at the end?dedication comes to mind👍👍from BIGMICK IN THE UK 🇬🇧 without snow or giant puddles🤣stay safe out there,ps;say hello to Grumpy for me🤣🤣
Hot damn that was stuck...
Seeing your truck spring back like that was nuts
That was a couple of BIG boings!
Here in northern Arizona we have conditions similar to MORR mud, sand and snow. I get the small tarps at harbor freight and carry a couple in all my vehicles if I have to hook up to recover or be recovered. They don't keep you completely out of the mud but sure come in handy for getting under the car.
Upstate NY saying hello Keep up the great work my friend
Casey looks like you need hip waders,or chest waders and get you some of those gloves that come up to your shoulders.
Love your channel !!!
I always feel better prepared when I'm wearing the right footwear for the job, especially when it's wet conditions. Worse is wet and freezing, that can be dangerous but not when that heater is on and waiting for you.
I noticed right away that ice was too thick for the rope, add depth and mud and that guy was really was stuck! I did enjoy watching that rope get exercised that way, gives people a really good idea of it's capabilities.
Can really see your skill set at work. You knew when to change course and reapply another means! I've tried varying footwear in the winter trying to find a good fit for my snowshoes, this year I picked up a pair of "Ridgecut Toughwear" muck bots at tractor supply. They are slip on and they are also insulated. They work great in the snow, rain and mud. They are my go to off roading boot.
I'm right there with you as far as mud goes. Hate mud.
So true about not many mud holes here, except on my road. That's why I have a Jeep! It gets me in and out with no problems, but it's also modified. Not that I won't have to call Casey at some point because all vehicles can get stuck. Good recovery Casey thanks!
Thanks for sharing Casey!
I live in Central Washington but for most of December and January I’ve been in Minnesota arranging to sell my house in Minneapolis-cleaning, having it painted, cleaning again, having hardwood floors refinished, cleaning again and sorting-keep vs toss vs donate +get rid of old paint and electronics.
Way too much snow here and lows below zero this week. I can’t wait to be back in “freezing” temps.
Good times. Have a good day Casey. God bless you and your family and friends.
Omg 😆 wringing out the socks! I felt how cold you were!!
Lmao! Thats funny Casey! I love the snow and hate the mud too!🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻 Great Video!
This one made me laugh. Love what you are doing.
Great job Casey 👏
You always go above and beyond for people I wish this world would see there is no reason to be so hateful and everyone be like you and the helping hand when or wherever needed and no cost to them. I pray for you and your family every day
Outstanding..... I was expecting more from the title of the video, but I should of known you would get it done no matter what. You've proven many times you have the knowledge and just the right equipment on any rig for just about anything. Being prepared is always the key... I use to work in the snow alot at work and I always kept an extra pair of socks in my laptop bag. Cold wet feet sucks and socks are cheap.
Thanks Casey!
Casey DONT be wanting more snow! It's time for summer! I'm sure it is, cause I'm ready for it. Maybe if you can keep it on the Westside of 97 that would be fine but no more out here in Christmas Valley OK? 👍 My roads out here in the middle of no where are already ruined from the melting and freezing and melting and freezing.
Great work! I'm shocked that truck didn't budge with the yankums. I hate mud too I don't know why anyone would want to burry their vehicle in liquid sand and fill every nook and cranny with sandpaper.
Absolute pet peeve wet feet!! Thanks for supporting your community Casey!!
Yah, my high school shop teacher used tow strap & a chain together? The chain broke & launched it through the back window of his pickup truck!!! This was back in the 1970's, He said don't ever do that to us!!! This guy every luck because my shop teacher said it almost killed him, it missed his head by inches!!! "Good recovery Casey"
Muck boots and rain pants might help you stay cleaner and dry as they can be removed after the job and hosed down at home. Don't use breathable ones because if you are sitting on your knees, the pressure may push some water through. Even if they only get used 2 times a year, you'll feel better.
Love watching your videos, Casey. Seeing you wade around in freezing muddy water and wringing your socks out made me think that you might want to consider getting a pair of insulated rubber hunting/forestry boots (as others have mentioned). It might be worth the investment so you don't have to drive home barefoot 😉...
Casey, you need to invest in a good pair of felt lined rubber boots. Just keep ‘‘em in the truck for times like these.
I feel your pain about there being no snow. I live in the northeast and Buffalo NY has been hogging all of our snow this year
Winter over hear in the northeast has been mighty disappointing, too Casey.
Maybe you need to do a snow dance?
I been through that many times & keep extra socks in my truck plus slip=on rubber boots thats knee high ! Now that truck had been on both axles for it to not budge on 2 yanks !
If I could find a cheap little shack to call home close to where you work at I'd gladly move there! Why you may wonder, ask? I'm retired & disabled but don't let that fool you as i still love the same types of giving you do in the Towing service industry. I have no issues with doing it for free either and i have my own rigs, although my wrecker is a 2 wheel drive Super duty with the 7.3 idi. I love Mud but can handle all of it quite qell/easy. At 65 I'm looking for something else to do with my life. Absolutely love the area you're in. You likely think im nuts but I'm not 😂😂. Anymore than u are, i also have my own off road rig, Ford highboy. Im jealous of how lucky you are and the nitch market you found and built up. Good job btw. Love your channel.
You might consider investing in some hip waders. I know Central Oregon isn't prone to a lot of mud holes, but...I started carrying hip waders on recoveries and wheeling trips so I can wade out into holes and not worry about getting my feet wet, especially when it's cold. Also helps when kneeling down to hook up or dig in wet conditions.
Awesome. That looks something I would do in younger days. Get stuck in the only mud hole for miles around.
Thanks for putting metric measurement units on the video, helps the rest of the world a bit.
Love your channel. Great job. Thanks.
I really hope most people compensate you off camera for these types of jobs, so many people are getting in the I deserve mode after they do dumb things.
Another Great Job, brought to you from Casey LaDelle. Cascade Heavy Rescue Towing & Recovery.👍
I live in Roseburg so it opposite for me lots of red clay don't mind the mud but hate the snow lol. I think it's because we don't really get that much snow so it's not something we have to deal with often whereas you're opposite. Once you said they broke a 4 inch strap with multiple trucks I knew uh oh. Excellent job
I saw you yesterday. I was driving my Grand Cherokee up to that new roundabout in town and saw you with the track jeep headed the other way! I still owe you one
Keep warm Casey
I love it all including mud and luckily where I live "north GA" in the Appalachian mtns we hv a Lil snow and lots of mud to hv fun in lol
Even though the kinetic rope didn't pull him out, this video was a great demonstration of how much easier it on equipment. A chain or regular tow strap would have stopped the pull vehicle immediately with a hard jolt whereas the Ysnkum stretches out, gently stops the pull vehicle them eases it backwards. Much less chance of damaging equipment.
Sonny boy, you need Mudd boots!! 😉 Dang, we get a kick out of you! Great job!
BRRRRRR that was very very cold, very very muddy and very very stuck! Great job getting this stuck truck out. I too can't stand mud. Don't like the mess it makes. Give me snow and water anywhere any time now that's fun. Hope you got warmed up and dry clothes on soon! Keep up the rad videos!
Cool old square body Kentucky Cadillac with the 4 door cab and long bed 😃
LMAO doing laundry by squeezing your socks out. Too funny!!!
Your a good man Casey
You can only plan with the information the customer supplies and your experience . You were successful despite things
Well done
That Ford Diesel sounds sweeeeet!
"Why am i doing this to myself?" - Casey while standing ankle deep in frozen mud. Dude I hope you took the money :D
I bet that guy has a lot of "here's your sign" moments.😂 But, I liked his truck.😉👍
Rubber boots might be a good thing to keep in the truck. Love the show
I've said it before, gumboots in your kit mate. Whatever you call them in the states, muck boots, wellies, etc.
RUBBER Knee Length Boots. Better yet some thigh boots, cos ya never know. Hard recovery for such a small truck.
Casey nice pull. You may consider getting plug in block heaters for all your rigs and a plug in heat pads for your oil pans which should make starting easier, get oil to critical engine parts sooner, and make it less of a decision process of which rig to take as they will all be warm. You have to get some tall, heavy-duty rubber boots, get them insulated or big enough you can wear a couple pairs of heavy wool socks
Very surprised how weak the Ford was. You need a good pair of over boots in each truck. Thanks for the video.
That's a pre-superduty - 1997 or earlier. The wind wings are one of the huge giveaways.
Looking forward to meeting you in Utah at the tow truck Olympics
