Pokemon Emerald and This game both are that nostalgic magic to me as well, they were the first pokemon games I played. The music is just another absolutely fantastic part why i loved these games as a child, and still do.
I've always liked to imagine the FR/LG gym leader theme being turned into kanto's unofficial Elite Four theme. It's far more intense than the original - and thus, far more fitting for four of the best trainers in the region.
You put so much effort into it, that I was able to catch a triangle at the drop (0:18). This is a little detail everyone forgets about, while remixing FR gym leader theme. I wish I could donate you but I need to rise my income a bit more. When I do so, I'll become your patron for sure.
I'm playing FR & LG on my phone and you can switch between both at the same time and TRADE. 😀 I have Gengar with Marowak, Tangela, Kabutops, Farfetch'd and Wigglytuff all with trade boosted exp. It made the early game fun as they weren't obeying me. 😂 Now it's like "alright, he kinda knows what he's doing.."
Whether Brock's Rock Tomb hits, Misty's Starmie being quicker, Surge's Raichu's paralyzing you, Erika's and Koga's status attacks, Sabrina's Alakazam outspeeding you, Blaine's Fire Blasts hitting, or Giovanni Earthquaking your team, This theme screams it all.

I just started playing leaf green again after years. Started over my old save file. Me and venasaur (the best kanto starter come at me, charizard is overrated)😂 are going to slay the region. Grass just does so well in kanto. And it’s a giant frog with a poisonous flower on its back. What’s not to love.

Everyone would use Metal Claw without a second thought as a less experinced younger player, but now knowing the statistics it could be a different story depends on the nature and IVs, I would think, though if you grinded enough pidgeys, weedles, caterpies and ratatas for EVs and EXP that you would have already a Charmeleon by that point, it could easily 2-hit KO regardless. Hmm...

RBY were my first pokemon games, but to this day I go back to play FR, LG & Emerald with working internal trades to enjoy the nostalgia
