The two beautiful young Mormon athletes seemed to have a perfect marriage, but Janet's sisters say that changed dramatically when Abaroa revealed he cheated.

One evening in April 2005, Raven Abaroa said he was out playing soccer when he returned to his family’s North Carolina home to discover a horrifying scene.
He told police he found his wife, 25-year-old Janet Abaroa, stabbed to death in an upstairs office. Nothing else in the house was disturbed, according to authorities, and the couple’s 6-month-old son, Kaiden, was left unharmed in another room.
"She's been shot or something. There's blood everywhere," Raven Abaroa told a 911 dispatcher at the time.
Who killed Janet Abaroa was a mystery that captivated the Durham, North Carolina, suburbs, and the case remained unsolved for years.

The couple kept being referred to as attractive while in actuality the couple looked pretty homely, especially the girl. Could it be that being young and blond is an automatic pass for being perceived as attractive? If the family is reading this, don’t take offense. I, myself am even more homely looking. Self love is so important. I went through something similar. Pregnant 🤰🏽 in 2001 with my son. He wanted out, I showed him to the door 🚪 and kept it moving. I am now happily married (9 years) my son is an honor student heading to a four (4) year university in August and yet, his biological father won’t leave me alone. Wants nothing to do with my son, just wants to see me and uses excuses to interact with me. Insane. Bottom line, don’t be afraid to be alone!!! You can’t hold someone’s heart, attention or love captive. Let them GO!!!

kevvome EEErrrr......the ex dragged me back to court claiming that I CHANGED MY # after I got married (like a normal person would do). He told the judge he needs to be able to contact me concerning our son’s well being, college info, medical bills, etc. The judge agreed and ordered me to make sure the dad has a number and address to reach me.

Domestic violence and mental illness are very complicated and I truly agree that society needs better awareness on these issues. At the same time it's also important to instill family values along with removing a stigma of being a single mom. I wish young girls weren't so scared of being alone or being a single mom. Yes its hard to be a single mom but it's even harder to stay in an abusive marriage!

Today is the 15th anniversary of this lovely woman's death. Prayers for her family and also her son , who is now old enough to understand, on this day. I know it doesn't get any easier to them. It's terrible that it happened to her, especially after just having a baby. Continue to rest easy, Janet.

You’re right. At the end of the video, they say in 2005, “things take a turn for the worse”, and I think at that time she’s 25. at some point in the video she’s wearing a very 80’s (possibly early 90s) dress... if we assume it’s her prom, it would have been 1997-98 at the earliest. Very strange.
