Awesome video Faye. I love your new set up, although your natural light one, gives you a dreamier look, both are great tho. If i win the Cinepeer C100 I would use it in a portrait photoshoot. As a fill light somewhere in the background to make my set up pop up and give more character. You can never have too many lights, and the more practical the better 💯💯
Faye, Definitely looks your on the right track, I know you!! keep playing with the light setting for your favorite mode. You and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year 🎉🎉 Take care, Faye
Hi Faye. At 03:49 we can see your desk and where you are placing the light. You can try bouncing the key light on to your position off the angled ceiling in the corner without the diffuser or barn doors if you have them could be interesting. Getting bolder with background colour lighting in the winter months could stand out, just a few more options for you to consider. I think the flap that opened on that camera may of been for the light meter instead of a flash, happy to be corrected. Seasons greetings to you, your family, and sending good vibes from London.
Yay!! Thankyou very much faye!!!❤ This was a much needed video. You have set up a perfect example for how to just make it look perfect in minimum amount of space.keep it up!!! 🫡😊
The small door that popped up on your vintage film camera is a cover for a simple light meter that does not need a battery. I believe the smaller of your old film cameras probably use 35mm film. The larger one with the bellows might use 120 roll film, but it could use 620 or 820 which are more or less unobtainable, or even individual pieces of cut film. I hope this is helpful.
Just the fill light at 4:39 actually looks great, but I understand that the dramatic look isn’t what you’re going for. The problem is that the background is too bright, especially since there’s the solid white door taking the right ⅓ to ⅓ of the frame. The lantern soft box is simply too big and too diffused for your space. If you use another one of your fill lights and put barn doors on it to restrict where it goes you should be able to get the light on your face without too much spill on the background. Good luck!
I actually like all of your studio light setups and I also own a few lights of Zhiyun! I like them. I don't think I'll win so I'll leave the celebration for the one who doesn't have any lights ❤
looks great, but I'd be binning the big lantern and just putting a smaller diffuser on. In fact, 1 more of those smaller fill lights would probably be powerful enough for you key light in that small space
You can make your background darker by getting your key light closer to you (inverse square law). The color pop light pops best in shadow areas. To create more shadow, consider moving your fill close to the camera’s axis and use a lower power than your key light. Then use your color pop on the side opposite your key light. All this is very subjective but can be fun to play with and can teach you a lot.
I'm starting portrait photography and am currently looking for a light for outdoor shoots in this size. That's what I would use it for. Merry Christmas.
I love a Teal back light!! The warm orange ambiance in the back also super complimentary. Almost like you know your colour science matches 😜. Awesome video!
Great video! I've always been intimidated by lighting as well, but, I know the reflected lights seen in eyes are called catchlights. Also the flip up glass thing is an early form of light meter.
Lighting is always a personal thing. If you are happy with the results then that's all that matters. Personally the end result is good apart from the reflection you have in the gloss paint on your door. You could solve this by changing the angle of your video shoot. You could of course move the lights so you can't see them but just changing the angle of your shoot would solve that problem. I'll have to pass on the giveaway as I don't use instagram. It's a shame but there you go.... I Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas
personally i wouldn’t add another dedicated fill light in your situation. Your room is not that big. The key light is already bounding everywhere. It is a lantern makes it spread more. So u essentially already have light filling in the short side. More fill reduce the contrast and dimension, make it not cinematic. But it is just me. 😊
You are an amazingly interesting photographer and i just want to wich you a Happy and Sucessful 2025, look forward to wahtching you progress I Lives in Stockholm sweden
In my opinion skip de Key Light when using a Lantern. The lighting is way to flat for my taste. Although you will lose one catch light. But you will introduce a bit of shadow, which i think is great.
I would use this light in my home studio set up for 2025! It would be a welcome addition as a fill light for a new studio im putting together .:). Thanks for the great videos and content as always! Happy Holidays @jodydwilson
Oh dang would love to win the C100! 😍As of now I'm just taking photos as a hobby (which I also love). Being able to use these lights would definitely up the game and give more of an edge so I can gain some 'customers'. 100% for portrait shoots, probably in an industrial setting - inspired by your shoots to be honest... also some cool photo's of my very white cat as well 🤷♀@kdt.captured
I'm a beginner videographher, and I'd deffinetly use the zhyiun C100 for a carshoot that i'm longing to do since ages, but haven't got the skills yet. My @ is alex._.captures

Ah thank you!! I wish you all the best too 🙏🏼
Great Video, personally i'd swap the lantern for a gridded soft box to have more control of the light and more separation from the background.
Hey! Great idea, thank you for the tip! 🙏🏼
perfect video as always! you deserve much more subscribers, so keep up with your amazing work
Aw thank you!! Appreciate it 🙏🏼

Thank you, you too! :)
Perfect timing for this topic! I have just started to explore. Awesome!!!😊
Yay, thank you!! 🙏🏼
3:20 exactly my reaction when you said „300 W“ 🤣🤣
Loved the natural lighting but this setup is great 🤝🏼

Great starting set up! I would use the C100 for creative color lighting or hair for portrait photography.
Awesome, thank you!!🙏🏼

Came at the right time.

Yay thank you! 🙏🏼
Great video! I've always been intimidated by lighting as well, but, I know the reflected lights seen in eyes are called catchlights. Also the flip up glass thing is an early form of light meter.
Thank you!! Really, I didn't know that it was a light meter clearly, I learned something new haha 😆
I would use Cinepeer C100 as fill light on my podcast video. Thank you for sharing and hopefully I got lucky 😍😍😍
Awesome! Do you have an Instagram handle as well? Since I will be announcing the winner on my Instagram story 😁
Happy Christmas Faye excellent information as always, Thank you.
Thank you!! So happy to hear 🙏🏼
Cosy 😊!
Nice setup. It could be used for portraits I guess.
Thank you!! Definitely 😁
Love it
Good job. The way you wear your hair, I think I’d switch your key and fill. I’d put key on your right side.
Oeh, I'll give that a go! Thank you 😁

The green light acts more like hair light
common Faye, you are a pro :))
Ahahah! I almost looks like I dyed my hair 😂
You have a distracting bright spot on your door which needs addressing.
In my opinion skip de Key Light when using a Lantern. The lighting is way to flat for my taste. Although you will lose one catch light. But you will introduce a bit of shadow, which i think is great.
