I'm eyeing off a Teammachine because I have a great local BMC dealer, but it sucks this year that all the Shimano models seem to be in greys and blacks, while the SRAM models are brighter colours. I want to stick to Shimano, but I'm sick of grey bikes.
I love BMC line up although some of their color choices (especially last year) turn me off. But, my favorite frame and the paint jobs of the higher end models are superb. I think this bring a better value that the BMC SLR THREE I have been thinking about buying. Once you add the carbon wheels, bottle cages, and integrated (won't be) stem, you are paying almost the same and you still don't have the lighter, stiffer frame and the ability to run all cables inside.... Very tempted about this one

About the different size brake discs front/rear; I think Shimano’s (and also Campy’s) thinking is similar to the larger front rotors you’d see on cars. When braking, the harder you brake the more weight transfers forward and you can therefor apply more force to the front brakes without losing traction. Nice little weight saving to use 140 mm rotors in the rear if 160 mm aren’t really necessary. I know for Campy, they let you choose- you can go 160/140 or 160/160.

We just got back from vacation in Orlando and it was windy every day last week. On the way home from the airport our driver was complaining about the wind here in New England.
I have a slr01 2016 and it has the same seatpost shape and the frame looks similar except the tubes are thicker and it doesn't have that thing under the seatpost the tube connecter
Front brake rotors on cars are (almost) always bigger than the rears as the front tires do the majority of the braking. Makes sense to do the same on a bike.
Killer headwind on todays ride'& I've noticed lots of trees blown down too. With this kind of wind, an aero bike would be a plus but deep profile wheels not so much unless you weigh 180 or more.

Hi GC,
How does this bike compare to the Scott RC 15 or the Cannondale Super six evo??
GC, would you go for the Four (bright yellow ) version with the SRAM Force over this FIVE with the Shimano Ultegra?
preference to you what components u like better, btu if I were you, go 5 with the new shimano ultgra, it is a bad ass bike
@GC Performance thanks man. I noticed you tend to prefer the shimano. Is it because of it being slightly lighted than the SRAM equivalent?
Front brake rotors on cars are (almost) always bigger than the rears as the front tires do the majority of the braking.
Makes sense to do the same on a bike.
I just had a fork built for my road bike and I got them to put the rotor at 180/160 instead, there is no way I'd ever run a 140 up front
The small rotor overheated all the time
The BMC URS gravel bike I’ve got has 180/160 rotators setup, definitely perceivable better brake performance and improved cooling
Excellent stuff!!
