  • We recently purchased a bunch of basses and compare them here for you to hear! Join us as we compare a couple Ernie Ball Stingrays, a Music Man Bongo, a few different Fender basses from over the years, an Epiphone non reverse Thunderbird, a Carvin from the 70's, a Gibson SG bass, a Rickenbocker also from the 70's, a Lakland bass, a Hofner, a Ampeg little stud, a Kawai Rockoon, and few more in this demonstration where Jack plays Love Will Keep Us Together by Captain & Tennille. We recorded all the basses in this video on a Metric Halo ULN-8 D.I..

    the zing a stingray has is just what I like - and jazzbasses are great too in that regard.

    Love that P Bass! Even with the tone rolled off, the 4001 neck is my favorite

    Man.. the sound of the Stingrays... great basses. A couple bands I used to be in, the bassists had stingrays.

    hilarious and awesome choice for bassline. That Ampeg Stud, never seen that one before...I'd keep that just for vibe alone. GREAT vid, Rick. The Sting Sig is a hidden gem for sure.

    Ive found out that strings & Which bass combination plays a important role on the sound . The Precision PB and M M sting Ray were my favorites

    When you do soundtests please don't play using picks exclusively
