      Same! Or even knew what it was. My gf has been having these symptoms for 3 years. All western doctors would do was put her on different medications to try and treat it. It wasn't until a year ago she had 1 appointment with a natural path doctor and they said it's most likely sibo.... its been a year since that appointment and still working on it, but at least she has an idea of what is going on 😊 good luck to you!

      Buy some Ginger or Articoke extracts. These will stimulate the migrating motor complex (area in the small intestine). You can also look into Vitamen B1/Thiamen (get a B complex), some people use B complex like Benfotiamine, these will help the Vagus Nerve (the nerve responsibilities for the connection between gut and brain).

    OH MY GOSH YES! I got diagnosed with SIBO a couple of years ago (couldn't get the antibiotics cause insurance and money, so I'm just using FODMAP to manage the symptoms until I can get the antibiotics) but I'm so glad to hear SOMEONE talking about this!
    So many doctors I've seen (in non-GI fields) had no clue this was even a thing.

    I went to the only doctor in my very populous area that has the type of equipment that can take samples during endoscopy and even he couldn't do a culture. Even when covered by insurance the endoscopy (which was only going to take tissue samples) was going to cost me $800).
    So I don't know who's actually doing those cultures, but let's just say it's not what I would call accessible in the US. Breath testing was accessible, but not covered by insurance at all. So right now both testing and treatment is highly limited despite the fact that IBS (which is probably mostly due to SIBO) is extremely common. I've basically had to both diagnose and treat using antimicrobial herbs, which are expensive but some of which are quite powerful. Even though I can keep it in check like that, I haven't found anything that helps remedy the problems in motility (and trust me, neurologists are just not there yet). I'm glad it's being considered a real condition now at least (by most), but medicine has LONG way to go to help people like me.

I have been waiting years to get diagnosed with something and I think this is it. I already take probiotics so that's good. I reckon I've got post infection IBS too. This video really helped me understand SIBO more. Thanks.

      I’m with you mine is extreme as well. I lose weight in minutes, I feel like lava, some breathing issues, can’t do certain activities & I can’t wear certain things/garments. I can’t workout, everything constantly changes for the worse with me. I had parasites before but a long with it & it took a long time to rid parasites & I probably still have them, now it’s like 2 against 1. The parasites gave me the bacteria & led on with SIBO.

    • @sammylincroft

      Be careful with probiotics if your doctor isn't prescribing them as some can further increase the overgrowth symptoms even if they are "good" bacteria.

    I cured my Sibo symptoms by eating nothing but fruit and fruit juice that I juiced myself for two weeks straight. No more symptoms at all while eating only fruit and when I started back eating normally, I had a normal amount of gas but no bloat and nothing like before. I cut out the things that caused the most gas and bloat which was Kale, seaweed and over eating nuts. I don’t eat meat at all and I think Carnivore diet only works as long as you’re on the diet but will return after you start incorporating other foods. It only took me two weeks to cure although I recommend going as long as you can. The fruit only was an immediate relief from SIBO symptoms. I hope it can work for you too

  • @sammylincroft
    @sammylincroft 28 дней назад

    Another cheap somewhat effective option and especially good if antibiotics didn't work for you is simply to take the prep for a colonoscopy or take the maximum dosage of movicol for a few days until your poop is yellow water. Eat a low residue diet while this happens so everything clears out. My doctor prescribed this for me after rifaxamin failed to solve my issues and it has helped a lot. I also take a small dose of movicol regularly to prevent it from coming back. I have mild gastroparesis from MCAS so doing this just helps keep my bowels moving to avoid overgrowth. Its a very low tech and affordable solution. Just talk to your doctor to make sure they manage your electrolytes and have you on the right sort of laxative (osmotic not stimulant) so that it doesn't damage your guts natural ability to move food as can happen with stimulant laxitives if used for a long time.

    • @sammylincroft
      @sammylincroft 28 дней назад +1

      Normally because the nerves in the gut aren't functioning optimally so its a brain / nervous sysyem issue that becomes a gut issue. Interestingly the gut microbiome also impacts our neurotransmitters so the gut and brain and connected in more ways than we understand. When your gut moves very slowly this can eventually be diagnosed as gastroparesis. Some people have such severe gastroparesis their gut doesn't work at all and they need a feeding tube or TPN. But lots of people have mild gastroparesis which just leads to a lot of gut troubles including SIBO. There is a test called a gastric emptying study that tests for gastroparesis although some doctors simply diagnose based on symptoms.
