To be honest, I fully switched from Win 7 to 10 just last year and although Win 10 is much better now, I still miss Windows 7. The mere fact alone that my computer does not fully feel like it's actually _my_ computer anymore is peeving me off and with Win 11, this is only getting worse.

@@JustMyFish I've already wrote this in my (not so) little rant - because Windows 10 refuses to give me access to certain folders and files and to alter them, move them or delete them as I see fit.
And I'm not even talking about sensitive files or folders, but about things like the folders that remain after uninstallinng a game from their XBox app. Nope, no chance, that is not our shit and _we_ decide if you like to litter your HDs, says Microsoft, deal with it.
Or an even worse case - my mother asked me for help, because Windows Defender quarantined the executable for one of the games she plays on her laptop. It's an old game, it was legitimately bought and installed from DVD. It worked for years both on Win 7 and Win 10. And there is pretty much zero chance her laptop caught a virus.
Then Windows Defender decided, nope, I don't like that anymore, begone; evil game. I had _zero_ chance to remove this executable from quarantine. Not only is there no practicable option to tell Defender that this file is not malware, you have to work with the command prompt and jump through all kinds of hoops - this option did not work, because I can't get the needed access to the quarantine folder.
All I could do was to manually delete the rest of the game files, re-install the game and then create an exception rule in Defender before starting the game for the first time.
One last example - I own a really old scanner. Despite its age, it still functions just fine. Sure, there are no official drivers for it anymore, but an experimental driver from some smart guy solved that problem. This driver works under Win 7 and it also works just fine under Win 10, alas, with every update Windows 10 says, nope, can't have that; buy new shit, and deletes that driver. And in this case, there is no way to keep Windows from doing that.
Sorry for that second wall of text, but I thought I should give a couple of different examples.

Windows 10 came with tons of Ads and Data Collection as well, I don't think there's a big difference between the two. As for UI Changes - I hear that for over 20 years now that the last Windows was better until a new Windows Version gets announced and suddendly everyone liked the current Version (Exception Windows ME, Vista and 8).
I remember the Hate when Windows 7 launched and there were only Icons on the Taskbar by default instead of the Text like in XP. Or the Windows 10 Start Menu.
I am currently using Fedora (Been using Linux since 2008 alongside Windows) and People often forget, that Linux is NOT Windows and that makes them switch back again. Streaming Netflix, HDR or Dolby Atmos Support, Online Gaming or simple things as Fractional Scaling oe VRR are always working but never working fully.
While Microsofts needs to stop making those awful decisions, I still think Windows 11 is more enjoyable than 10. My Laptop has longer Battery Life, Auto HDR works very well (most of the time), Tiling Windows got better and many small changes that overweigh the negatives you mentioned.
And I do think your points are valid! And I think it is important that we keep the pressure up because Microsoft couldn't care less about us. But I also think, that the Reputation Windows 11 gets is worse than it should be.

All can be trend OFF. I have windows 11 No Ads or Data Collection Bocuses I hit a switch in the settings to turn it OFF. Also, when installing Windows 11 or 10 there is an option box to uncheck and then its all Off from the start.

Motherboard? There's no *motherboard* requirement for Windows 11. You need TPM2.0, which means newer than Coffee Lake (8000 series Core) on Zen 2, *or* a mobo that has a TPM header you can plug a suitable module into.
Fun fact: I just built a smol NAS that would run Windows 11 ("would" because it's running Debian). The ITX mobo (from Aliexpress) plus an i5-8400 (eBay) cost something like 110€ total.

There are no motherboard requirements other than 2010 and onwards. When you see a board that says windows 11 ready that is just a sales pitch all boards after 2009 are windows 11 ready. Some may need a Bios update but that is just for the processor to utilise TPM.

@@AndriyTech I was still using Windows 7 until last year and installing Windows 7 on some newer mainboards was a pain in the rear. Not because the mainboard and Win 7 would not work together, but because the install files for Windows 7 only had USB 2 support build in, while the mainboard demanded USB 3 drivers in order to install Windows from an USB stick. The fun thing was, you could infuse USB 3 drivers into the Win 7 installation files, put them onto a USB stick and then perfectly install the whole thing via an USB 2 port.
