Yes! The RPQ sounds so good with the ERG tones
Much excite for things I don't actually need.
I have not forgotten the Boss Half rack series, the parametric EQ in particular is very sweet!
First recorded sighting of the Furman Fortin "Fortman" power conditioner. Ryan's Fortin sponsorship confirmed. You saw it here first, folks!
Lol now that's funny 🤣
love that you demo-ed with tokyo dream
Good stuff, great to see these being used in a high gain context! Rock on!
One of the few more "known" parametrics I never got my hands on and always wanted to give a whirl. Another great demo. The more people that are exposed to how insanely powerful an EQ, a parametric in particular, before the amp is, the better.
No! I was hoping youtubers wouldn't talk about these until I had the money to buy one of everything!
Edit: That "almost big muff" setting would be perfect for the compressor/noise gate as well because of how compressed big muffs are.
Fortunately I don't have the JHS power of unintentional market manipulation!
Great demo of the expander coming in at 17:45 onwards, will have to try that!
13:25 unexpected Feared riff! Approved! Also loled at "youtuber compression", could also be "instagram guitar compression"
Such a nice informative video, did you ever get a hold on that rod-10? It's got cabinet emulation and I think it's really awesome
11:50 GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVEYARD DISCIPLES
great video man
I have the ROD-10. I use it with my Ampeg SVT 200-T. The overdrive is bi-amped with a compressor that is summed back into the power section. I can remote control the Overdrive effecting only the highs/mids only.
OMG nice deftones cover, that song really fucking gets me!
so one thing i do often, especially live, that i never see anyone do is run a compressor squashed with the mix knob way down after my overdrive. compression dimed, mix at 20%. and it sounds SO damn heavy. this unit doesn't have a mix knob, but maybe you've got a compressor that does.
Looks perfect for someone like me who has no idea what he’s doing and just fiddles with shit till it sounds good
Sounds really good. I'm assuming there isn't much of tome sucking going on regardless of how old these are?
The instrument input has a 1M ohm impedance with a 10hz to 40kHz flat response, so they should be fine in that regards. Just to be sure, I am sending either a buffered or DI signal through a reamp box through these in the video.
@@PlagueScytheStudios Ok cool, got it! thanks man.
What about the pq50 parametric and ns5o noise gate both sick sounding vintage gear!
never saw the parametric ... only find the graphic one for 50 bucks
wheres the graphic one??
Alright, Ryan.
I'm probably gonna make a bad decision involving both these, and a rockman sustainor.
Should I buy one or two of these, or just use a rockman sustainor and a pod xt pro, because a pod xt pro can be had for like 150 bucks?
I'm also planning on pairing these things with a jet city brown tube head for plexi tones.
I'm seeking your guidance because a lot of people just say my idea is kind of stupid without elaborating why.
It doesn't make much sense to me to mix vintage analogue rack units with an amp modeler / multiFX unit from the mid 2000s, let alone running it all through a tube amp at the same time. There are only two configurations that really stand out as viable rigs IMO (assuming you're playing through a cab):
1. BOSS RPQ-10 > BOSS RCL-10 > Rockman Sustainer > Amp FX Loop
2. POD xt PRO > Amp FX Loop
If you want the user experience and vintage tones from the Rockman and BOSS gear, you have a good tube platform to enjoy them with. Those units will never win on value when compared to a multifx unit, especially a cheap xt Pro, but that's not the point to me. You play through this stuff to have the experience of turning real knobs and hearing sounds lost to the ages.
As soon as you introduce a multifx unit, it becomes pointless to throw analogue rack gear in the mix that is easily replicated inside the FX unit itself. Why have outboard EQs and compressors and amp simulation when the xt PRO can do a decent enough job with all those things? If the "character" of those POD models aren't up to your standards and you feel like you need analogue gear to fill in those gaps, why consider the POD at all?
Maybe this is the sentiment other comments crudely attempted to convey without saying why.
@@PlagueScytheStudios thank you so much for your input. I really appreciate it.
Hope you have a great day.
Is it possible to connect thoses boss micro series to each other?
Holy shit that's a noise floor. Do invest some time in replacing the electrolytic caps in it, should make a major improvement
It's not a noisy device, he just has the treble cranked to +15 and the master level knob pretty high
