I really think,if Clark,ever said she wanted to leaver,the owner would do whatever they had to do,to make sure that didn't happen.Whether it was more money,or Sides and Dunn, gone.She isn't going anywhere.
You're all forgetting how much CC hates losing. If the Fever continue to lose and the front office makes no changes, I have no doubt that she'll walk.

Pretty sure CC came to the league knowing she was going to 1 of the worst teams in the WNBA. She has celebrated and embraced that. She also isn't that petty and knows that it takes time to win. She won't walk - because that also isn't her.
Doug, she doesn’t not care that she’s going to a team that is bad but going to a team thats is bad and doesn’t care is not the same as going to a team that is bad but is working hard to win. There’s a big difference. If i had a choice to go to a team that went 13-27 but doesn’t want to win vs a team with a worse record but desperately wants to win, id choose the worse record. The reason Caitlin may leave Indiana is because the leadership DOESN’T WANT TO WIN and half the time seems to want to lose, that’s a huge difference

If a new CBA can get approved CC could go wherever she wants to go. She could stay and demand a new coach and GM. She holds all the leverage. She is the reason the W is where it is today and why it will only get more attention.
New CBA? We're talking about the WNBA. How much you wanna bet they screw it up with unrealistic demands and a strike?
She will still be under the standard 4 year rookie contract. So won’t Boston. There’s a reason players around the W structured their contracts to end in time for the new CBA. CC’s personal contract with the Fever will still be ongoing. The CBA doesn’t change that. She could ask for a trade, and be traded, but her present contract would follow her. That’s labor law.

@@Barto-p4k The CBA can be written to stipulate that, one in the NBA did, it invalidated any contracts that were lower than the new standard. Didn't just adjust the pay, required new ones, and that made them restricted free agents early, before their original contracts were up.
If Fever don't do anything about Sides and Dunn i'd rather see her on another team. Her million fans will support her wherever she goes and the owner of PNX team knows that. I've watch another video Liberty wants her as well. What you see outside her happy doesn't mean she's happy with what's happening behind the scene. She's always happy with every player in WB but not her team losing.You're in denial, we saw it so many times how upset she is with Sides, how she is with Bluder and Miller. If her parents tell her esp her father that its not working, she will leave that team.
The problem is the fever are a tax write-off they simply do not care if they win if they lose or whatever, in fact half the time i think they are trying to lose. Caitlin needs to go to a place where they actually care about the team

Doesn't matter how many all-stars you have on the team, the Fever will never win a championship with Christie Sides. They have an 89 year old billionaire owner who could care less about winning. Eventually, Caitlin will get tired of losing and change will only come when she decides to draw lines in the sand.

Well said, Robin. Not to mention her loyalty to Fever fans and all those little girls who look up to her. Why would she leave without helping the Fever build a championship team? All the talk just makes no sense to me. She has tons of money already, with much more to come. They can't keep her merch in stock. She is a super star on a losing team. Bring in two high caliber players at the 3 and 4, and they are probably the best team in the league. Personally, I can see Caitlin being one of those loyal players who stays with a team for life; especially if we see the Fever win Championships. I love your commentary, Robin.

Clark has always dreamed of winning a championship. It's Not about the money for her.
If you don't have the proper coach who knows what she/he is doing, you're Never going to get to a championship.
I don't care how good the players are, the coach controls the plays, and who's in the game and who's not, Etc.

Caitlin is the girl who could have gone to college anywhere in the country and she chose Iowa, the place who had only ever been to the final four once. She wanted to build the program and take it somewhere it hadn’t been before, and they made it to the championship game twice. She said Indiana getting the first pick was a factor in her not taking her additional year in college even. The fever havn’t been in the playoffs in almost a decade and they are in the running now in her rookie year! She may hate losing but I think she understands where they’re at and where they could be.
I hope if anything, the bonding with the vets she got to do this weekend and showing off her talent means they want to come to Indiana to play with them. I would be upset to see Caitlin leave so soon, but I wouldn’t be angry or upset with her if she was doing what’s best for her. I think Caitlin said it the best herself, people were expecting instant gratification and that’s not realistic. Their goal was to make it to the playoffs and they’re doing it!
The biggest reason she chose Iowa.Is because she is from Iowa!
Also, I could put together a long highlight reel of Caitlin talking to Sides on the sidelines, trying to decifer Side's baloney like she is on Met and Crack.
It's all in the hands of the owner. If he decides the team can actually generate money based on lucrative media deals going forward, then positive changes may be implemented eg. new GM, coaches, roster changes. It's about the money.
Indiana Fever Upper Management which includes the Owner, Manager and Coach need to up the ante !!!! All the negativity everywhere is kinda down heartening¬!!!So far, we've heard owner does not care and is using the Fever Team , as a write off. The Manger peaked in 2012,,, to my mind, has not made any impact on the Team (using her time as part of her Retirement Phase ) please correct me if I am wrong¬!!The Coach has been making numerous mental mistakes, which have affected games where the scores were close.... So, I ca nnot say that having her, has made the Fever a better Team,.. Ennufff said !!!!!
Caitlin loves being near her hometown, she's said so. It's the reason she went to Iowa when she could have gone anywhere in the country (except Uconn lol)

Here's a geography lesson:
Chicago and Minneapolis are MUCH closer to her hometown than Indy.
Phoenix has non-stop flights to her hometown that are only 5 hours, compared to a 7-hour drive from Indy.
Lets see how she feels in 5 years.
Either Sides and Dunn or Caitlin need to go. It was so clear this weekend how happy Caitlin was with Cheryl Miller coaching her with trust into Caitlins abilities. Also no free agent will join the Fever if Christie Sides is still coaching them next year. If they dont fire the coach and GM then Caitlin should put her influence on the table and demand a trade.
Whatever your feelings on the Fever management, you absolutely cannot compare the All-Star game to the regular season. The All-Star team was made up of the top players in the W other than Team USA and Cheryl Miller joked about not even really coaching the team, but rather supporting the players and letting them do what they do. The All-Star game, while competitive is nothing like a regular season game. Of course she was having a great time, everyone was because it's the All-Star game. Not a fair comparison to make.
@@mattparks8434 I saw every second of Fever Basketball this season tho and never saw any player getting good coaching by Sides. The players always look annoyed by her. She is squatting 40 minutes per game at the sideline only showing them how to put their hands up in defence or slowing the game down while Caitlin wants to play fast. She also started Wallace the first half of the season who was clearly just playing because she knew her from Atlanta and now she is seeing 0 minutes. Same with Wheeler who got a max contract only because of her connection to Sides and they wasted all their cap space.
@@edvonschleck3098 I agree with everything you just said. I'm just saying you can't compare it to Cheryl Miller and the All-Star game. Different vibe and atmosphere and a different relationship between "coach" and the players. Watching it made me wish a bit more of that energy made it into the Fever games, but they are also on a mission to reach playoffs so they are taking it very seriously. Again, I agree with you, just don't think you can compare the All-Star game.

There's No coach to team chemistry with indiana, because of Sides. The coach is a complete joke. She has No idea what she's doing, and she is toxic to this team. Are you going to tell me that just because it's an All-Star game, that Cheryl Miller just instantly has a connection with all these players??? No!
Indiana has pretty much an All-Star atmosphere everywhere they play.
A Good Coach & GM, is what they're missing.
@@pattibond2342 I think it's easier to approach an All-Star game from a place of fun and lightheartedness because it's not a season game that impacts team standings and professional careers. I'm not defending Sides or the GM. I don't like her overthetop energy. But no one commenting is in their locker room and everyone is just speculating based on what they see in-game and in clips, so I find the comparison to the All-Star game inappropriate because you're comparing coaching a professional season trying to reach playoffs to a pick-up game for fun. That's my point.
To reiterate: I agree that the Fever could have a much better atmosphere and I wish Sides didn't seem as intense and high-strung. I just don't think the All-Star game is a fair comparison to try to drive that point home.

Yes, credit to Boston. She has had a lot to learn this year, and she's done a great job at it, playing a vastly different style. Getting back into shape was I'm sure tough during the season, but i gota give a bit less credit on this one. It's kinda her job to somewhat stay in shape.
I initially thought Stockton to Malone too. But that's not a good comp, that's not the right style. I was wrong earlier in the season, this team does need to play Nelly ball. I don't think we can manage a Tarkanian level of D for Runnin Rebels, but the run and gun is it.
Some roster changes are needed, Mitchell has the ability if she will accept the role. Smith has got to go, hopefully she can bring some value as shes not bad, just a bad fit, with a play style change. Wallace, Saxton, Dantas, Wheeler all gone. Satou Sabally should be the off season target. Max contract and be done with it, savings from Wheeler.
Indiana has to build a championship team for the next season. If not, I bet CC goes to another team.
People are projecting the Fever management continuing their inept running of the franchise. Maybe they realize what they have and figure things out but that isn’t a guarantee.
If they don’t bring in the right type of players, don’t build a team to fit around Boston and Clark (and at least for now Mitchell) then things could sour.
Sides is caught between embracing the way Clark plays and not knowing anything about that style of basketball. She reverts to what she knows and it has cost them games.
The GM is 77, will she construct a team to play this new style of basketball?

You are conflating the Mercury and Liberty's recruitment intent with CC's desire to leave Indiana. The fact is Carrington and Ionescu were schmoozing CC for a reason.
Stupid speculation. Not happening. Her boyfriend works for Indiana Pacers, and his younger brother is his roommate and just transferred from Iowa to play for Butler.
If Caitlin gets a great opportunity elsewhere, she can negotiate with the team that's courting her to arrange a suitable job for her boyfriend. Happens all the time when hospitals hurt doctors, universities not professors, corporations hire talent.

CC and Boston can’t be great with the coach who doesn’t understand that. You assume that the W is structured to put out the best product. If you look at their reaction to CC you see why the league is stuck in futility. The owner could care less which doesn’t happen in ANY other sport. So Dunn and Sides are staying.

As a super fan of CC's, and if she were to leave the Fever, I'd like her to leave the WNBA all together and play abroad. She owes nothing to the WNBA; they owe her. Were she to leave the WNBA and go abroad, watch the viewership numbers of the WNBA take a deep dive too. And if she did play abroad, watch how many of her international games will suddenly be broadcasted here. CC does not need the WNBA; they need her.
The price is too high for anyone to trade for Clark.
Fans can be very impatient and don’t really consider the logistics. This hiatus will only stir up more craziness.
Im pretty sure Nneka is a free agent next year and so is Erica Wheeler. I dont mind Wheeler but she gets paid a lot with little play time. If they release her that would free up a lot of cap space. Im really curious to see who we can pick up in the off season.
Wheeler should retire and go into coaching, which I think she would be good at. She's a great person but she is 33 and not getting better.

Geography lesson:
You can get a 5-hour non-stop flight from Des Moines to Phoenix.
It takes 7 hours to drive to Indianapolis from Des Moines.
Indiana is pretty far from Iowa, it's not driving distance. I lived in Iowa. And the plane routes suck too. Being in a big city and flying to Des Moines is faster.

I don’t think it’s likely she would leave Indiana so soon. Her family lives in Iowa which is around a 7-8hrs away and she’s really close to them, unless they plan to move to Phoenix. Plus she doesn’t seem like a Lebron and just jump ship to win championships.
There are non-stop flights on allegiant between Des Moines and Phoenix.
In other words, it's easier to get to Phoenix from Des Moines than it is to Indy.
Chicago and Minneapolis are also much closer to Des Moines than Indy.

Kelsey Mitchell is a greedy player, it is all about her, very seldom does she pass the ball. She is not the type of player for Caitlin to play with and there are better players out there. You noticed she didn't stick with Caitlin but Boston did that tells you something. Kelsey would rather play with someone that doesn't get the limelight because she wants it all. Kelsey need to go along with Sides.
