    About Joker:
“Joker” centers around the iconic arch-nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. The exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

I loved how this scene showed Bruce, even as a child, wasn't afraid of Arthur. Didn't know who he was, Arthur did a weird dance and magic trick, and even put a smile on his face with his fingers. Bruce barely seemed phased by this guy, until he lashed out at Alfred. Goes to show that Batman was never, will never, be afraid of the Joker.
But for Arthur, he thought he was meeting his potential younger brother. Despite the creepy, weird vibe of his actions, you can still tell this man wanted to do no harm by Bruce. In fact, he seemed to care about him since he believed he was family. Then when Arthur attacked Alfred, he looks at Bruce and stops to run away, since he doesn't want to scare the kid. Another Easter egg in showing that Batman is the only person that Joker, in a very twisted way, actually cares about, and who's opinion that matters to him.
I love the meeting/foreshadowing of these two future archenemies.

    • @dday906
      @dday906 5 лет назад +13

@@Rahul-gm5dw Trying or not wouldn't mean anything. I'm not saying he'd be scared because of him being a clown. I'm saying because he's a stranger. And parents usually teach something called "stranger danger" to their children, which will put them on guard. Plenty of times where adults have gone up to kids, not to scare or hurt them, but the kid gets scared regardless. But even if that weren't thre case, this scene can still be seen of what's to come, because Joker has always tried to make Batman "smile" by force. Literally or figuratively. No matter what, the scene is just a representation of these two future archenemies always being linked.

i can finally understand why the Joker loves Batman so much despite it all; Joker is ultimately alone and misunderstood, unloved and ostracized by society. Batman, in a way, is his best (and only) friend.
Bruce is the only person who has ever truly understood him and shares his pain, and i think he makes the Joker feel like he finally belongs...

Yeh, from jokers perspective the failure for the rest of the world to see his point of view is utterly fucking madening. It's so obvious to him, and this is obviously rhe only logical way to exist in this world. And yet they call him names and proclaim him mad.
Batman is pretty much the same. It's so obvious to him this is the only way to live his life. To do anything else would immorality of this highest order. What else can one when faced with such evil but fight against it brutally, even to the detriment of every single thing in his own personal life and anything that might make him remotely human. Why doesn't everyone else know this? Why do they put up with the crime? What are they, stupid, apathetic, cowardly? If even 5 other people did even 50% of what I do on a daily basis all our problems would be over. And yet they don't. They sit there, looking at the violence unfurl on their tvs, and gawp. And they call him mad for doing this.
That is the eternal bond they both share. They have both been allowed witness to humanity's true nature. They both decided to totally erase their personalities and adorn ridiculous costumes to symbolise their perspectives on existence (only through relentless struggle against evil, by the invokation of terror amd fear, can we live in this world) and (only by laughing at everything, only by showing every day what a joke everything is can anyone be liberated from the burden of morality in a fundamentally insane and pyscopathic world). Why wouldn't the joker be obssesed with batman? Who else could possibly even *grasp* his point of view of existence, let alone share it. Not the dumb masses, who are at best stupid and at worst cruel. Only men who have seen past the veil into what the world truly is and elevated themselves above it can possibly grasp it. They both, in their own way, probably consider themselves the pinnacle of Nietzsche's ubermensch - utterly outside any morality system the hoi poloi believe in and are therefore capable truly of great deeds.
That's why Batman laughs at the end of the Killing Joke. He knows the joke, and in one small moment, on his own, with nothing but his broken enemy in front of him, he indulges himself, and allows himself to acknowledge just how fucking funny it is.

    This scene.....
Arthur just wanted to meet his baby Brother and he found him, he brought young Bruce close to him, surprising him with a funny little magic show with the Wand.
    Arthur: Hey what's your name?
    Boy: Bruce!
Arthur: I'm Arthur(His voice broke as he told Young Bruce about himself, for he finally met someone other than Penny who is related to him)
But Alfred came running to Bruce's rescue from a stranger,
The heartbreak, the betrayal, the pain and the anger in that scene was eerie.

The irony is that the first time bruce meets the joker is when the joker was still normal and had good intentions, but everyone still viewed him as a insane sociopath even when he was just a normal good guy struggling with life. The movie showed he GENUINELY enjoyed making kids smile and laugh, but no one else seen that and only viewed him as a freak and... a joker. Now that he has transformed into the joker everyone views him exactly the same way, this is why everything is so funny to him. This movie had a better story than endgame honestly and was handled more brilliantly.
I once heard a saying, "Hell is not fire and brimestone. Hell is seeing your max potential right before dying. Seeing what you could have been, what you were capable of achieving, what you could have looked like at your peak physical and mental performance and then dying", Arthur fleck's potential was never achieved but it was always shown in his fantasy flashbacks with sophie and murry. Its sad when you think about it. the entire movie was the very slow death of a persons potential and transformation into something he never wanted to be.

And he was just a kid therefore witnessing his parents death with such impotence can be really traumatic indeed. That's why he went traveling around the world training and learning many things while understanding criminals in the process as well as people that pass many necessities because I like to think the Batman realized at some point through his parents death that no matter what you have or who you are, the most precious things in life can be taken away even in the most forgettable, disgusting, dirty and somber of places and just because someone can. Alone in a dark place, forsaken like many people have been. In the end you’re just like everyone else so he committed his life to fight crime using his wealth, knowledge, training and trauma to save people and do good no matter who it is since in a way he sees himself in everyone.

Todd Phillips wouldn’t have Batman as the villain though. He would have it be about making your own choice on which side is morally sound for you. With the media exaggerating the story to high hell, making the situation worse.

This was the best scene in the movie IMO, and there’s so much to dissect. At this point he believes that Bruce is his brother. You can see that he’s somewhat happy, but probably at the same time angry that this kid got this great life while he was tossed out like garbage. I couldn’t help but think it’s why Joker never really wanted to kill Batman. It would be awesome if they really were half brothers.

    Man creates society
    society creates greed
    greed creates injustice
    injustice creates violence
    violence creates madness
    madness creates the Joker
    Joker creates the Batman.

An excellent example of an essential scene for the story that also works as fan service at the same time.
Even if you don't know anything about Batman and his mythology, you see a disturbed man excited about the idea of playing with his 'new' little brother in the next days.
