Balmoral is magical, I didn't know it was so spectacularly beautiful, I'm smitten! Windsor is next on my bucket list, then Hollywood house in Edinburgh, and finally Buckingham palace.
I hope to visit all the 6 palaces of Queen Elizabeth II Royal family in my lifetime and see their English Garden which my late mother in law who’s born in Cromwell/Huntington speaks proudly about.
Keeping in mind that these castles and palaces were built for those who lived long before Elizabeth Second and will be lived in long after her reign. The focus should be placed on the passage of time not just the individuals who live there. Castles and palaces endure beyond the life times of the Queens and Kings who occupy them. There is a cumulative time line that should be appreciated within the course of life-times and the general genealogy of all of us . It’s called HISTORY.
"...long after her reign." Not necessarily. Even in many contemporary European constitutional monarchies, many of their former royal palaces are no longer lived in but have become museums.
She can sell anything owned by the crown. It’s also worth noting that the royal family own many properties that are either within the grounds of these buildings, such as frogmore house in Windsor castle... or in other very affluent areas such as highgrove, Clarence House, Kensington palace, Westminster palace, Greenwich palace..etc etc. Then there’s the royal castles such as the Tower of London and Hampton court..
Sandringham House interiors look very cozy and comfortable. I suspect that's the way the queen really likes to live. But what happened to Osborn House? Did she sell it to the country? It was built privately by Victoria and Albert.
It's owned by the Government - it was a naval college, a convalescent home for wounded servicemen and now, mainly, a museum run by English Heritage - the Government Heritage Agency

Good video. One suggestion. Lower the volume level of the background track, your voice is having to compete with it. I do have some hearing loss, and that's not anyone's problem but my own, but you are having to talk over the music. `Nuff said, and it was a great presentation.
What's the difference between crown owned and privately owned? Does it mean they can't sell the crown owned? But they can sell the privately owned? What else are other differences?
Crown-owned means it’s part of the Crown Estate, a portfolio of properties managed and revenues given to the Government. Private-owned means the Monarch owns them outright.
Are you serious? Have you seen the size of it? Plus the grounds? In one of the most expensive real estate areas in the world.. then you’ve got the inventory inside..
The film "CHOR MACHAYEE SHORE" is the best Bollywood award-winning film of the actors shashi Kapoor and Danny Denzonpa. They both of them played a vital re in this film. we like this film almost best and full of romantic songs and actions.
The Crown properties are different than the privately owned ones. Those came down from Queen Victoria. But she did control all of it. These old places are smelly and uncomfortable except the renovated areas brough up to modern conveniences where she dwelled. But there will never be another one like her.
Interesting fact mentioned in the beginning of video that these mansions cost millions for up keep and preservation and cannot be sold. There comes a time when such wealth becomes too much to bare and starts to turn in on itself. It takes an incredible amount of money to preserve the physical wealth collected over the centuries with the goal being to keep up the royal image. Not a lifestyle one would dream of.
It's 2.7+ billion (I believe you said million), you pronunciation is off on theses locations, and even though historic palaces doesn't run some of those buildings, they are open to the public (when the queen is not in residence). You're also not including her mother's castle in Scotland and other homes owned by the Windsors.
@@pyro481 Versailles is certainly the most impressive palace and grounds I've seen. I was kind of let down by these English palaces that had nowhere near as impressive landscape design or overall immersion into the environment. That being said, unless you were the king or one of his favorite mistresses, life as Versailles sounded pretty miserable with all the rules and etiquette haha Maybe if you were there in the time of Louis 16 and managed to escape before 1789...
