Wow. Even in his seventies Mr.Jesse Glover still had quick hands and power. Amazing that Mr. Glover got to touch hands and train directly on a regular basis with the legend, Bruce Lee...R.I.P Mr. JESSE GLOVER. Bruce Lee's first Student.

One of the best humans ever. I was fortunate enough to have my Black Belt certificate in Non-Classical Gungfu signed by Jesse and trained with him in Seattle several times when Seifu Jaim Martin would take us up to train with Jesse and his students. As Wolfgang Rain says, honest and understated. Best times were after trainings at the Chinese restaurant around the corner from his dojo in Seattle.

Bruce Lee major major accomplishment was him, to be a uniter, he was able to bring people of different races together into an art, the real and best art of defense ever, to see all man as brothers.

Thank you for sharing this. I bought Jesse's books when they came out in the 1970's and have met him a few times. He is one of the most honest people I have ever known when he speaks about Bruce Lee. Jesse's first book on Bruce Lee is still one of the best in my opinion. If I can move like this when/if I get to his age, I will be happy.
    Best Regards

Have known Jesse since 1963. He was one of the top four judo men in America at that time and one of my Judo teachers at the Seattle a dojo, America's first dojo. Shortly after We met he would give me short lessons in straight punching and some chi sau. I met Bruce at Jesse's when he came back to Seattle for a few days. I learned a little humility when I challenged the efficacy of a 1" punch. Jesse never taught Bruce judo. There are no belts inJesse's hung fu. Perhaps an autograph?

Jesse open the door with encouragement to "express yourself" though the process of assessment and movement he shared, never dictated. Always humble and confident in his actions as well as his guidance for each person to seek their own destiny; simple as that! A great mentor!

Jesse never taught Bruce judo? Hmm. Any proof of that? Because that’s contradicting what a lot of people say. Also, any proof you met either of them? I realise this comment is 10 years old now but still would like evidence of what you claim

The "SHE" word or naming God as such, is coming from misinformation. It's actually God the father and the Son who teach men a lesson in humility by allowing them to age. We ain't nothing without his breath or knowledge of anything in life. It all stems from the creator. We return back to the source to explain why we did not do his will if it applies. Cheers

@ozzie4uk I completely agree. All the people who have been lifted out of the mediocrity of most martial arts by Jesse should start thinking about what we can do for him now. I don't see him retiring, but we need to figure out how to get people overseas to come train with him now. I know the travel alone puts a lot of strain on hm. We all need to start channeling what funds we can to assist him as he gets older. He won't ask, but he needs it. p.s.- Even sick, he still kicks ass.

@@thehomefront1905 a nameless internet youtube nerd is gonna tell people what Jesse Glover was capable of? Lol, you gotta be kidding me.
Jesse Glover was a multiple time Judo champion and had insane hand speed in his prime. He was challenged plenty of times, and he mopped the floor with his opponents every time.
He was Bruce Lee's first student and one of his best fighters. In this video, he was in his 70s, and already had severe cancer.
