There’s been a lot of hate on this battle in the frb community and I don’t get it at all. It’s just a normal erb but with motion capture. Glad to see a community member that likes it as much as I do.
Same, sure, their raps might be hard to understand for some people, but still...
Voices fitting the characters, understandable after you read captions>a normal voice rapping for a character
Plus this is probably the "farthest from one-sided" battle they made since Joker vs Pennywise. It has really good writing and the beat isn't bad either. I don't know if I'll be coming back often to listen to this, but I can still see the quality.
I mean yeah Godzillas voice is kinda hard to hear but it’s not like it’s mumbling rap

6:32 this is actually a rebutal to Zillas first line "From Depths of the Sea", which is a reference to a Snoop Doggs song, and Kongs responds with that line, which also happens to be an Snoop Dogg's lyric " we dont love them hoes". Also also, Toho is the studio who produced the first Zilla's movie lol hope i helped
and RKO was the studio that produced the first King Kong movie
The “here’s your sign” might also be a reference to Bill Engvall‘a joke. He has a recurring joke of signs that say “I’m stupid” so when he talks about someone being dumb he goes “here’s your sign!”
5:37- Technically this line backfires because Godzilla minus one released recently and became the most successful Godzilla film in history. So that line is quite weak when you realise that

I'm pretty sure they were referring to the more recent US version of Godzilla with that line, since the first 2 didn't do all that well and now they're releasing #3 with Gozilla vs King Kong.

I see this battle, and I see two guys who've been at this forever trying something new and having a blast. It's their first time with the tech, so of course it will look a little goofy, but ERB has always been very goofy by design, so I don't get the hate.
At any rate, this battle goes incredibly hard. It's probably my favorite battle from them in a while, if not my new favorite period

Idk I actually liked the Motion Capture here, it’s goofy and I think that’s what they were going for, but it fits both characters pretty well. Especially for Godzilla, I thought he was a suit like from the early films. Anyway love your reaction energy as always
I think the motion capture is good, the issue are the facial animations, imo.
I REALLY like Godzilla's facial animations. Kong's were OK too, since most of the awkward expressions can be hidden by his glowing eyes. I'm glad they went with the "nice Godzilla" face though. It's my favorite version of him, plus I like to think it's a reference because Godzilla is MOCAP'd by Nice Peter.

Godzilla's voice was inspired by his voice in the English dub of 1972's Godzilla vs. Gigan and references how it sounded there, hence why it's sort of hard to understand at first.
