To me Penacony have the highest ceiling of hype & story compared to Sumeru & Fontaine...But the problem was that it had so many long conversations, many recaps of the story, & many repeated explanations of same things. It was not as convoluted & too many information overload like HI3 that had too much yapping & over-explanations...but Sumeru & Fontaine still tops Penacony because of direct to the point explanations, & faster pacing of story without too much long conversations...except for lore bombs of course, because we know how Hoyo does it.

It just took forever to get to the point, like the entire mid part of the quest was boring and unnecessary. To each their own I guess. I found Penacony’s story, while long and it did drag on at times, much more interesting and the character interactions more meaningful/entertaining. By far the superior story compared with Sumeru.

It's so funny at the end when people called him lame and said L take when he said he still had genshin above it(Sumeru arc), Fontaine arc was very theatrical to me and as a theater kid(kind of i was mostly a helper) I'm not fond of theatrics anymore so I still have Sumeru as my favorite, crazy part is for both games sometimes I still have to watch a video explaining that maps plot to get the full picture(i say sometimes but its every time) and even the guy I watched had some things fly over his head and make a follow up video cause of that, just cause the boss fight was hype as hell(hsr is a turn based game so half of the content is in little details like how the characters have new lines for that boss with mcs ult and stuff, which most players would easily miss in genshin, heck even I caught on very fast and I don't know if any of A ether/Lumines kit even have sounds cause i still don't pay attention) both games are great but genshin story is more grounded to follow and honkai is more spectacular in stuff like final boss fights and npc designs(I mean we have to look at them more as we fight so I hope its better) also the fact that 4 stars have animations for ults(if they didn't that wouldn't work unlike with genshin) Btw I'm not saying Honkai has a story that cant be followed just that it will take way more time to flesh everything out, like with aeons and exactly what the endgame is vs genshin( the crew is just literally exploring rn vs the twins looking for the other twin as a moving plot), kind of like how there are episodic cartoons like SpongeBob and cartoons that follow a plot like avatar, yet both are still iconic in nickelodeon

I'm yet to see a reactor that is not satisfied with the Scaramouche boss fight and the Caribert epilogue, the pacing of the story was superb. Penacony 2.2 story on the other hand, was a slowburn. Don't get me wrong, that ending sequence was the best experience I got from a hoyoverse game. But, 8 hours+ of yapping is not necessary, and there are also many CC/reactors feel the same way.
Penacony was full of yapping? I didn't feel like that at all tbh. Do you guys skip the dialogues or something? Honestly penacony felt less dialogue heavy than most JRPG style stories that I've enjoyed. Imagine what hoyo players would think of an actual 100hr JRPG where at least 50 to 70 hours is the dialouge.

Humans have low attention span. It's really hard to focus for 8 straight hours specially if everyone just yap. Retaining information is really hard specially garnt watches anime which is more of showing than telling.
If you want to see those parts, just play the game yourself? It's weird wanting to have other people have the same experience that you want them to have. Also, easy to read the whole line before the characters finish speaking. That's why it's fine to "skip" most of the time, especially when they're throwing random jargon and you can pick up what it's about from context clues. Or are they not teaching that anymore in elementary?
Gigguk, I suggest you play Wuthering Waves(Wuwa). It has a deeper and darker story than any of the hoyoslops youve played so far. Wuwa is catered to adults and doesnt treat you like an idiot kid. Also the vombat is one of the best out there rivaling elden ring, honestly it might be even better than that. Please hoyo doesnt value your time, play wuwa instead.

LOL Wuwa has pathetic writing, I blame Kuro for listening too much to their community and changing it so much just before the release. They made everyone so friendly to us when originally the other characters practiced "stranger danger" and didn't trust us immediately. Now it's a story that I can't take seriously. There were also so many dialogues that caught me off guard like with Jiyan the General asking us, an amnesiac stranger, on how to command his soldiers. 😂

Penacony 2.2 is great but the most emotional moment is still...Honkai Impact 3, Chapter 25. (If you know, you know.) Legendary storytelling.
