Wait worst film of 2024? 😅 Did you not see Madame web? Did you not see Winnie the Pooh"honey &blood Did you not see THE CROW Did you not see "UGLIES" Did you not see REBEL MOON 2 😅
You literally went to a movie that you knew you wasn't going to like. You just said you don't like these type of movies so I would expect this type of review and it's not fair to the movie. The little boys acted they're behind off and I would say they deserve awards for it. I think they out acted Halle Berry
Exactly. All his complaints were the point of the whole movie. Which we could tell by the trailer. You’re not supposed to like the characters they’re being tortured and trying to survive. The kids were great actors.
Pretty much. I couldn’t finish this video because he is wrong on so many levels. The movie was pretty good, I give it a 7/10. The acting was also superb- especially the children who had to carry the movie for the last quarter. I pretty much feel the way he feels about the movie, about his review.
The movie was about spiritual warfare and a mother dire instinct to protect her children from the inner darkness. As well as, the outer evil’s of a this evil world. You must dig deeper as a reviewer. I am not saying it was a perfect movie by far, but it at least was an average movie and most definitely it was scary.
It touched on some interesting ideas but it lacked a cohesive voice, so thematically it came out very muddled. I enjoyed the acting and atmosphere as well as what the movie tried to do thematically but it was a mess. It kind of fails as a horror but also fails as a psychological thriller commenting on mental health, generational trauma, and what not. I get what the movie tried to say but it failed in execution
This makes sense because it actually does involve the spiritual world in this. And it shows how the mind can be tricked if you think the mother was crazy. It's like the son close to the mother, his vibration lowered once he broke his foot. Was trying to keep up through hunger. After the mother cut her throat. That's when the revealing became known. The entity there went after the boys. The one with the lowest vibration got possessed. And controlled. The other one was trying to save him and his brother from the entity. It also makes you think how these reptilians do surface and can have mind control over you without being seen. Like those quiet 🤫 whispers that call your name or having you think something is near you when it's physical form is not really there but you feel some eerie presence next to you. It was decent for what it was. It just explains there's evil in the world. You have to be very careful and mindful from what's out here. Meditation was their way back from the evil in that floor with the door darkness had to be found within to consume fear and protection. That's why the other brother found a way to take down the entity in darkness. It was there only way out the house and save the 2
The ending was flatlined but worst movie of 2024 is a stretch the movie wasn’t bad at all and she wasn’t delusional because the kids seen what she saw when she was gone.. overall a good movie though
This movie was pretty good. Don’t not see it based off this review. We all don’t like the same movies but if you don’t like these types of movies you’re not gonna like it 🤔. The kids were great actors! I don’t think this is a fair review. But we all have different tastes!
@chellbell7899 I had a feeling from watching the trailer that the film is a multi-layered metaphor and symbolism-laced psychological horror film and I will be checking it out.
@@daispillar For me, I really like films that can play on religious stuff without outright saying, "Religion good!"or "Religion bad!" Sure, you can certainly draw that conclusion from it, but it leaves that bit to interpretation. You can either view June's faith as having protected them, or being the very thing that led to their demise (I'm of the latter). I got sucked into the atmosphere of the movie off rip, it answered the only two questions I had about the lore within the first 20ish minutes, and it utilized a small cast and setting brilliantly. However, even while I was watching it I knew that it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. It's slow (which is a huge part of what sucked me in, because it's gotta be slow for things to sink in, but it's not so slow that it lets you linger on them for too-too long) and I think people tend to react a lot harsher to these religious-based movies than they realize or would like to admit.
Mental illness is the point of this movie. Can you even take a gander how many people you run across on a daily basis that is actually mentally ill? A lot of the homeless and veterans are mentally ill. I can’t even imagine how someone halfway functions with schizophrenia, but the government, felt the need to cut funding to mental health. Art imitates life.
The kids were being influenced by the evil. Not a great reason but you said they do things out of nowhere when they've already established why they do the things they do. Plus you dont like that the kids are being put through this. YEAH THATS THE POINT. Your supposed to be uncomfortable and question the actions of the mother or if they're valid things to do
I thought it was ok. The acting was nice to me. But the story was very very thin. And marketing it as a scary movie when it was really a drama was such a bait and switch.
(SPOILERS) Yall ever watch a movie and about half way thru you're like oh so this is all the movie's gonna be about ? This is all the climax were gonna get ? 😂 I give it a 3/5. Granted i did cry when the mom keeled herself bcuz it reminded me of my mom passing 😞. Anyway all the promo kept saying scariest movie of the year and i was waiting til the end for the scares and they never came maybe the scariest part was her about to keel the dog 😢😅. Movie coulda been better just like most of the movies this year they rely on the mystery factor but the script and writing is not supplementary. they wasted 2/3 just storytelling about the rope. We shoulda seen more monsters more mayhem more g0re anything more! When the girl turned to a snake i said okay were getting sumwhere then that was the last of the monsters... The end left room for a part 2 with the brother being p0ssessed on the chopper but idk. The boys did a great job. I wanted more from halle they checked her out too early just to have her come back as a ghost... Movie was just all over the place. GREAT review by the way just discovered your page and you do a better job reviewing than alot of others will be subscribing. Btw pls do spoiler versions too
Ok...brother this review makes literally not sense, because you right off the bat say you don't like these types of films so you were already going to have a problem with it to begin with..also it's not true there was no reason for why the mom acted the way she did, throughout the film it is explained and implied she suffers from some sort of mental illness coupled with her trauma from her upbringing with her own parents. Thats why she treats her kids the way she do. If you're gonna do a review on a movie, why not do so on one thats in the genre that you do actually like. Thats like me playing a game like Minecraft and then saying it's objectively a trash game because I don't like sandbox games, they're not fun to me...
Well said, and spot on summary of the mother character. And I feel like the overall plot was about that trauma and mental illness being hereditary, by not only genetics, but by trained behavior.
@@OhNYEThere was never an actual threat. The evil never made physical contact. She killed herself. Sam killed the hunter, Nolan knew their behavior was off. The whole family was chronically schizophrenic.
@@Spense9At the end of the movie there was a picture of the hand of a monster on the Polaroid photo of the pic the little boy took. How do you explain that? As far as her believing that the world was evil and had ended that was symbolism.
It was different .. can definitely evolve into a series.. like how to conquer fears ..spiritual battles etc. before lunacy sets in ..the characters are exaggerated on purpose like Twilight Zone
OK, so just a few things about this movie I feel like the only people that would really get this movie. Are people who dealt with family trauma and thinking that evil was a part and you know family curses. Also, you need to take the word nappy out of your vocabulary OK because the setting of the movie basically was like they were the last ones on earth so why would they be coming in their hair?
To each his own but I liked the movie. I thought there was a deeper subtext. I could have done without the nappy hair reference. I think that was in poor taste
ikyfl with that title lol we had madam web this year! even if you somehow loved that, this movie can’t be worse than argylle, night swim, borderlands, or the latest tyler perry production! edit: netflix’s uglies looks a mess too
For me, what was disappointing was seeing Nolan as the only survivor. I say this because he was the one who got his mom killed, and now we have to watch him survive through the evil. It is reminiscent of The Last of Us Part 2, where we play as Abby - the killer of Joel, and it just doesn't feel satisfying to do so, with an ending that leaves us feeling, meh. The CGI snake woman was also a let down, it seems like act 3 of a lot of modern horror movies always have to have a CGI monster to defeat nowadays.
Nolan wasn't the only survivor. His brother is alive at the end and in the copter with him, however he (Sam) was the brother who had given in fully to his mother's teachings/derangement. The Evil wasn't real, just a metaphor for whatever was mentally off with the mom/June (be that extreme religious indoctrination or just mental illnesses; depends on what lens you wanna view the movie through though both themes are present).
Some people like movies that give you things to think about some just want to be spoon fed ideas🤷🏾♂️ also from what was said i deduce that you watched a wolverine movie but never read a wolverine comic. Because hie origin was inaccurate. Now given that, credit is lost to any further review🤷🏾♂️ according to a lot of comments many people agree. You said you like films that make you thini then a sentence later you complain that the movie didnt explain something to you. Anyway god bles good night ive helped you on the algorithm enough for now lol
You are absolutely Right. I just watched the movie and didn't know if the evil was real or if it was just in her head. And the end of the movie was horrible, now does the boy have the evil in him now! I'm giving it 2
I didn't mind Catwoman lol. Your review is hilarious haha. I may check it out because of your review haha. Halle Berry is interesting, I can see her doing comedy. She's done it before and she's good. I would rather see her in comedies. When I saw Monster's Ball I was thoroughly depressed. That's a film you only need to see once and I did not like the way the little boy was used as a prop for her to spew her emotions at. I would prefer if she did comedies. Great review as always.
Another thing I always appreciate a majority black cast but i feel like they give the lesser important movies to us like "HERE DAMN" cus this movie was definitely hollywoods scraps. It was "straight to dvd" vibes
Sounds like you missed the point if you needed to “like” one of the characters to appreciate it. Watching them he horrible people was kind of the point.
Didn’t think this was the worst movie ever honestly I would disagree specifically because the type of genre and the issues you had conflict with the type of genre of movie it is. I do agree though the payoff at the end could’ve been way more solid. Maybe even leaving the audience guessing on the evil being real or mental issues.
He hasn't seen "Speak No Evil" either apparently... that movie was garbage, from the writing to the characterization!! This movie at least addresses some interesting topics and was well done. IMHO 😍🎉
This was much better than The Strangers and The Watchers and a bunch of other movies outside the genre. I was drawn to religious symbolism. Halle was good here (see her earlier movies). Percy has potential to be great actor.
It was about indoctrination and generational traumas/sins/regrets being passed on to/becoming the burden of children. The mom spent her motherhood running away from her past (whatever it was; wouldn't have added anything to the story in front of us) & succumbing to the deranged teachings/beliefs that her mother drilled into her as a kid (also likely that there was a mental health thing going on, because some mental illnesses can be passed on genetically, which would explain why only her, her mother, and the one twin could see "the Evil") and had tried to do the same to the boys. The one son (who set the house on fire) had succumb to his mother's derangement (the pic showing her grasp firmly on him), while the other had seen through it all and refused to follow her path while still forgiving her for everything/(looking at it through the religious aspect) her sins (the snake form dispersing).
@@famousthaneus9810yeah love all this in theory but it just didnt have any impact on screen for me. With a few rewrites this could have been an exceptional film because i love where they tried to take it but muddled writing and excruciatingly slow pacing dragged it down
I don’t like this review those boys did a great job acting Halle berry is suffering from mental illness in this film and the son realized it and because of love he has to put his mother out of her misery
ok i just got out of the movie... I enjoyed it because I kept trying to figure ot out but basically she was crazy but she was also right about something being in the woods. Also I think the kids did a good job acting in this movie...the shift the kid took was because he got possessed...Halle definitely played crazy lady well 😅...the 75% rotten tomatoes score is ...fair
It's not your type of movie genre. I can definitely understand that. Since you're aware of that, you are better off not reviewing those types of movies since you're incapable of reviewing them objectively.
I usually check you out before i watch a movie and this time I didn't.😂😂😂 That was a total waste of my time. And when I thought they were going to stick the landing, it just fell apart.
The best thing about the Netflix movie with her & Mark Wahlberg was the end credits, literally, but that's just my opinion. I didn't like it. Love Halle Berry ❤
This movie just didn't make sense to me. It's a great storyline but played out horribly. For instance you are supposed to be safe from evil while on the rope. How was the evil able to cut the rope? Why didn't the evil cut the rope a long time ago? How did the brothers touch when one was evil? The other didn't change to evil? Where did the paramedics come from? It just didn't make any sense.
Well, it makes sense if you see them as mentally ill. The hiker had called 911. It’s possible that his phone was pinged for the last location and they had been trying to find him.
Wow. This dude really pulled out the gasoline can troll/clickbait thumbnail. Is this movie good? No, but it's not the worst of the year bad. This guy lacks critical thinking skills when it comes to psychological-based movies. SMDH🤦♂️

Apparently, he hasn't seen that many movies this year. Because there are worse garbages in 2024.
I'd give it 6 or 7 out of 10
Saw it last night not my favorite but not the worst it's the village 2024
Trap was crap
This was much better than The Strangers and The Watchers and a bunch of other movies outside the genre. I was drawn to religious symbolism. Halle was good here (see her earlier movies). Percy has potential to be great actor.
Your review is RAW AND AWESOME. THANK YOU. IM A SUB NOW. KEEP KEEPING IT REAL ✌️👏🏼
I appreciate that!
LOL not you bringing back your classic gasoline can thumbnail from back in the day 😩😂
@@TheLawrenceReport yessir. Are you going to see it?
@@justmyopinion84 for sure imma check it out
One of the best movies must watch...
This was such a funny review. I love it lol 😂
The gasoline is taking me out! 😂😂
I agree with you 100%!!!! Worst movie ever. We actually walked out!!!!!
I’m still trying to figure out what the hell happened. Certainly one of the most unsatisfying films I’ve seen in a long time.
With a few rewrites this could have been an exceptional film because i love where they tried to take it but muddled writing and excruciatingly slow pacing dragged it down
@@Allgloss312It all worked for me. It all clicked relatively quickly for me, but that’s the beauty of art. Everything hits differently for each of us
I don’t like this review those boys did a great job acting Halle berry is suffering from mental illness in this film and the son realized it and because of love he has to put his mother out of her misery
@@jasonharmon6089 I disagree but I'm glad you liked it
ok i just got out of the movie...
I’m sorry but I know we can each have our opinions but this was a solid “not bad”. It was NOT the worst of 2024 BY FAR.
@justmyopinion84 its apparent that you didn’t understand the film and maybe you should of just held off from posting a review
😂😂 this review is hilarious. No way this movie can be worst than the deliverance 😭 now I’m intrigued to watch ctfu
Dang B.Avery.... you ain't pulled out the bleach but the gasoline 😱😱😱
😂😂😂.. I saw the poster for this movie and thought it was a slave movie so I wasn't interested but now im REALLY not interested.
Just Awful!!!!
You’re being cruel and mean about this movie. Stop it about the hair.
“Everybody’s hair is nappy as hell”
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's not your type of movie genre. I can definitely understand that. Since you're aware of that, you are better off not reviewing those types of movies since you're incapable of reviewing them objectively.
I usually check you out before i watch a movie and this time I didn't.😂😂😂
That was a total waste of my time.
She’s been in shit movies since monsters ball and that was that great ngl
Halle always portrays the rotten or abusive mother to young boys in her movies (Monster's Ball, Bruised, Never Let Go, Kidnap)
Wow. This dude really pulled out the gasoline can troll/clickbait thumbnail. Is this movie good? No, but it's not the worst of the year bad. This guy lacks critical thinking skills when it comes to psychological-based movies. SMDH🤦♂️
Everybody's hair is nappy as hell! 🤣🤣🤣
Aww man you brought out the GASOLINE 💀🤣🤣 Wow I thought this was going to at least be a C- 🤭
Yeah, I thought it was straight TRASH!!! Are you gonna see it?
@justmyopinion84 Honestly NO, I've watched your reviews long enough to gauge your accuracy on entertainment. Thanks for your reviews 🫡😉
Uh oh. We going tomorrow after brunch. You got out the bleach. No no my brother. We can’t keep drinking the bleach. Nothing is ending good. Oh no!
Yes its just your opinion 😂
Oh no! Not for a Halle Berry movie! I expected better. 🤦🏾♀️
She hasn’t done anything good since the early 2000s
Nah. Her movies are hit or miss.
Halle needed a bag. These stars ain’t making money like they use too
Ummm let not forget that mess of a movie catwoman😂😂😂
It’s not a bad movie at all
Haven't seen it wait, can't wait.
X-Origins Wolverine was crap! Deadpool fixing the Deadpool part confirms it. The animated Hulk vs Wolverine movie is better.
You’re not helping if you don’t want her to end her career.
Omg.. I laughed so hard at your review.. I cried. …”money back, and I saw it for free”.. I been missing your reviews, especially the bleach versions… 😂😅
That movie was great..
@@blkvixon glad you liked it
😂 i just left from seeing this movie, Brandon i knew i could depend on you for this one to confirm my thoughts.
Dang. I was just about to watch it. 😮 still might 😉
It wasn’t bad…it was actually very scary. Yes it was very uncomfortable and scary. Come on…ur being very mean. Not true at all.
Thanks for the heads up, I knew it was going to be horrible when they stated it was a psychological thriller.
I agree I’m sorry but I do agree
No to the bleach😂….gasoline now?!
It was better than the crow (2024) 💯
im saving my money. Thank YOU BKA.
Why can’t academy award winner, Halle Berry find a decent movie to star in ?????
This movie was horrible. Terrible. And everyone that’s saying it was scary clearly never seen an actual scary movie. TRASSHHHHHHH
I agree!
I loved this movie!
It felt like a waste of my life! Time is precious and you can’t get it back. I absolutely hated this movie and the ending!!!!
Back after watching it...and it was pretty bad but got better after what happened to Halle's character.
I saw it today, it was just ok. I have unanswered questions lol.
I actually enjoyed this movie. I do not trust your opinions/taste.
Respectfully…If you thought this was bad…you gotta peep The Deliverance (2024)
😅A Man of Taste☝️
Movies aren’t made for you to actually like the character. You missed the whole point. You just didn’t get it at all. Stop it.
This is your funniest review
Wow, I actually enjoyed the film. I had a lot of questions though.
The opening credits of Wolverine Origins were the best part of the film. 🤦🏾♂️
