  • Had a ton of fun making this video! We spend so much time in our boats and go over every detail with a fine tooth comb. Hopefully this will help you dial in your wake for the summer. The boat in this video is the 2021 A24 with the LT4 motor and Power Wedge 3. Feel free to drop any questions down below!

    so epic! I have the T250 just switched out the 550lb plug and plays to the 900lb bags and the surf wave is much better. If you were surfing how would you weight the boat??

      That's killer man, that'll make a big difference. I would recommend adding a little more mid and bow weight to the boat. It's longer so it can take more bow weight.

    Great video, thank you for this, could you share what pitch prop you run on the 17” and roughly the rpm’s running at that setup?
    Wake looks killer!

    Thanks for the setup tips. I have a new 2022 25LSV and am having trouble getting it setup to run heavy and clean. I am going to try this but is the 25LSV different? The old 23LSV's loved bow weight and had always put a 1000lb triangle in the bow. But it seems the more weight I add to my new 25LSV the more finicky it gets. Malibu's have never had a sensitive or finicky setup, especially side to side with the wedge down. I am very frustrated!

      Rear Weight!!!! For wakeboarding, these new Malibu's and Axis love the rear weight. We ran the 2022 25LSV at Wakefest this year. We did some world class wakeboarding in very poor water conditions so I know we can get yours situated. I would recommend starting with stock ballast in the rear STBR and PORT tanks and filling the center to 75%. Leave the bow completely drained. Then if you're looking for a bigger wakeboard wake, drop some lead (or people on) under the skybox pull out seat. From there add weight into the rear lounge seats. Really just keep the weight in the back of the boat run wedge 3. Should clean it up really nicely. Add weight to the bow for surfing to increase visibility for the driver and lengthen the wave. Hope this helps!

    How much weight do you add up front when surfing? Recently upgraded from a ‘08 23LSV to a ‘22 A24 and loving it!!!

      Great question. I would recommend filling your bow bag to help even the boat out. if you need more, lay a towel down and drop some lead in the front. A couple hundred pounds should do. Sounds like I need to make a tutorial for surfing too!

    Great video. I'm deciding right now between the t250 and A24. Do you have a recommendation? I wakeboard and surf. I road behind the T250 this weekend with the dealer, and the wake and wave were amazing. Fully loaded and wedge 4 and the wake was the biggest I've ever road. My rope wasn't long enough because it was too easy to clear because it pops you so easy. Just wondering if the A24 is similar, or is it better on the wake because cleaner?

    • @GuentherOka
      @GuentherOka  2 года назад +1

      Jacob, what's up! I'm going to break it down like this. The A24 is going to have the superior wakeboard wake, and the T250 is going to have the superior surf wave. However they can both get the job done for each sport. I would take into consideration the traditional bow vs A style, the sundeck walkthrough on the T250, and how you'll have to store the boat. But you just can't go wrong with either! hope this helps

    I have an M220 and like to go more intermediate wake. What would you suggest? I have the plug and play in the rear. We normally ride with 4-6 people. Thanks!

    • @GuentherOka
      @GuentherOka  2 года назад +1

      Epic! The M220 is a great boat and I've spent a good amount of time in it. I would recommend running the rear ballast at 25%-50%, keep the center around 25%-50% and then run the bow at 0. I would also say run the wedge on 2-3 for the best shape and keep all your people behind the wind shield. If the wake is washy with that, add more center weight or drain the rear some.

    Dude! Thanks for this. What length you ride for 22.5 mph on that setup

    • @GuentherOka
      @GuentherOka  2 года назад

      So I ride 75 ft at that speed. But I love riding at 70ft at like 21-21.5 mph as well. I'll usually drain a bit of weight when I do that too

    • @666vismund
      @666vismund 2 года назад +1

      Thanks. One more question . If the a24 porpoises, does that mean too much rear? By porpoise I mean nose bounces up and down

    • @GuentherOka
      @GuentherOka  2 года назад +1

      @@666vismund yes that's definitely what it means. If that starts to happen, just move some of the rear weight forward

    What speed are you riding at? Do you ever put the wedge in lift mode?

    • @GuentherOka
      @GuentherOka  2 года назад

      the speed was at 22.5 mph for that session. We always use the wedge in Lift mode to launch the boat, but once we are up and riding we use it on wedge 3. You can use it on 2,1, and Lift to help mellow out the wake as well

    How would this setup compare to how you would weight a new A22?

    • @GuentherOka
      @GuentherOka  2 года назад +1

      I would weight it really similarly! But I would add a little more weight in the bow just to even it out some. Especially when surfing so you're able to see over the bow line and it'll make the wave longer
