I'm no vet or monkey specialist (but a pediatric nurse😂) and my impression is also, that this mum is experienced and her behaviour towards the baby absolutely normal and careful. She is indeed nursing her, if not all the time, she carries her, she hugs her.

I could see her to be young as not having teeth, but I did not know her to be only 5-6 days old. With this knowledge and my observation that she is extremely big and chubby for a newborn, the explanation of her mother's gestational diabetes is nearby. Particularly, because the mum seems to be thick, too, and the baby is what some here describe as "uncoordinated". What is more, she is a little bit shaky and seems neurologically immature, but that is to be watched in most baby monkeys, when they begin to walk. You see, I remember the essential symptoms of babies of mums with gestational diabetes. (As mentioned I am a pediatric nurse), but it is never wrong to repeat old subject matters.😆
Tia is absolutely adorable when she's trying to use her hands to reach but she's not very coordinated yet where she's only 5-6 days old so she misses what she's trying to reach 😂 Hang in there, baby. Your vision will clear and your coordination will improve daily. Just keep trying !

Lower primates, like monkeys, don't have babies. Lower primates give birth to nipple addicted suckaholic infants. Humans have babies, and some of them are nipple addicted, too.

Tia doesn't even have teeth yet, that means she is only 2-3 weeks old. She has already been more active then a normal baby monkey. Tara doesn't need to be pushing her away because she already gets distance from mom. She can't eat without teeth.

It's plenty healthy and momma feed him/her all the time. If you notice when he's rejected he goes off and plays. If he was hungry he wouldn't give up so easily. Makes me nervous when he's on the branches, mom needs to be even closer than she is.

I totally understand and agree that they need to learn to forage, but at 5-6 days old is way to young. They NEED that milk at this stage of their life. In my opinion mom is mean she doesn't even hug this little girl. When she is 5-6 months old teaching to forage and weaning should be right on time. This poor little sweetheart doesn't even have control of her hands yet. How is she supposed to forage 😢❤

Tara is one nasty Momma Monkey's it's to bad they don't have a birth control method set in place for the long tails.She would be one of the first to be fixed. She has some beautiful babies, but not many of her off-spring have made it.
Tia is so curious and seems to be very adventurous which is great as long as mom has a hold of her. I understand a mom wanting to wean, but this baby is much too young. Her umbilical cord is still healing, and she has no teeth. She’s a mellow baby and must be getting enough to eat because she’s not fluttering, crying or being a velcro baby.

I must have watched this 10x But tonight I smoked a little something and I saw a whole different story! This is so amazing to watch. That lil Tia is a rockstar. So strong and smart already. She just can't get her arms to do what she wants LOL But wow she can climb the trees pretty good. Her eyes are so bright and her cute tiny pink nose. That flappy butt and shes such a lil chonk. It's cuteness overload! You know why her nose is all pink? From all the nursing she does! Tara feeds her. You only see what the VOs want you to see. No doubt Tara can be a hard azz and lose her cool. She needs anger management for sure LOL But she loves Tia She just doesn't know how to discipline without violence . I know some people like that. Anyway, love Tia so much

Milk bar training starts long before actual weaning. Remember, the babies are fed all night up in the trees. Daytime is for monkey mamas to eat, groom, rest and replenish their milk supply.
Have you watched them nurse 'all night long'?? I get it.... she (mom) doesnt want the burden of nursing a baby for 2 months let alone 9 months to a year. These mothers are selfish, lazy "mothers" and think that since they are 50 times as big as their babies, they somehow have the right to deny the babies what they need MILK. It isn't the babes fault they're born. If all the males were sterilized that would put a stop to all the new births.
Baby looking for nurturing to feel safer and not scared. Baby is scared and looks so much for mother's nurturing as all babies need, human or not. But this mother is on the cold side, and you don't see much cuddling at all. I've seen fantastic, loving mothers, but in this department, this mom is ignorant😢 Such a beautiful baby looking for love. Tara has a funny little mark on the lower middle section of her bottom lip that helps distinguish her from the others...Tia also knows her mother and goes specifically to her and each time (throughout 95% of the video), is denied the chance to nurse..Tara's mamaries are FULL from NOT nursing Tia is weak and shakey from hunger... it's very obvious.
That’s not at all true, and as you see she is learning very fast how to forage by not hanging on the nipple nonstop 24/7. Although she may not be old enough to eat anything and it is in fact very essential for her to continue to nurse, they need to learn at an early age because it will come in handy as soon as they are old enough to be weaned. Being a infant wild macaque isn’t just about nursing nonstop 24/7, it’s also about playing, exploring and of course socializing with other infants it’s age. Being attached to the nipple constantly will not allow for any of those valuable skills that each and every single infant needs to learn in order to be able to survive!! Remember they aren’t like humans nor do they behave anything like us, it’s not like a human child waiting to they reach a certain age to be able to start school so they can start learning. As soon as those infants are born, their mothers have to start teaching them survival skills, they have to also understand the rules that are set in their different troops, because one ☝️ wrong move can indeed get them killed. Wild macaques don’t have cognitive abilities, so therefore they aren’t able to think rationally and logically, they are born with natural instincts and if they don’t know how to use those natural instincts then they won’t make it to adulthood. Education can be your best friend and it will definitely give you a much better understanding!! 😊
Tia is a little cutie but the mom is mean, not very nurturing at all. I can see limiting an older baby but Tia is only a few days old. Her stomach is so small she needs to nurse often. The mom definitely hasn’t missed any meals, over feeds herself, need to put a drop cloth over Tia when mom is eating. Just leaves Tia in the tree without much supervision. Not a great mom at all.
Those older moms are hands on they know when to feed their babies, and they won't keep their babies on the reat 24/7 you see the size of the mom and size of tia the mom knows exactly what see is doing
I have a question for any longtime viewers, I’ve only been watching for a year, but someone the other day, said they’d been watching these channels since 2013! I know a lot of these monkeys, but compared to some people, I guess I’m still a newbie 😂 and I’m not sure of all their rankings in the troops. I read a study that the high ranking females mainly have female offspring, and the lower ranking females mainly have males (it’s a bit complicated, but it’s something to do with the composition of their milk, it’s different depending on the sex of the baby)….for those that have been watching a while, does this seem to line up? I think Tara is high ranking(?), and I know she’s had quite a few babies at this point. How accurate do you think the study is? Thanks in advance for any answers, I’m just curious, because I know for example that Casi was higher ranking than her sister, and she had Celine and her sister had Calvin….but I’ve not been watching long enough to know about the sex of previous babies. I’d love to know how accurate it really is.
Everyone is praising the mom, but the poor baby is constantly struggling to feed because Mom keeps pushing her baby away. I know they do it sometimes, but this seems excessive. I feel bad for the previous little one.
Why mother not help baby with milk? Baby tries to put food in her own ear, grabs at air, sniffs other monkey, mama just ignores. Baby is very cute, I mean for a monkey.

Mama will find her natural food, does not need to be given any moll from VOs. If mama doesn't eat, she won't produce milk for her baby. She knows what she is doing to be a good mama.

Tara is one nasty Momma Monkey's it's to bad they don't have a birth control method set in place for the long tails.She would be one of the first to be fixed. She has some beautiful babies, but not many of her off-spring have made it.

Tia is so curious and seems to be very adventurous which is great as long as mom has a hold of her. I understand a mom wanting to wean, but this baby is much too young. Her umbilical cord is still healing, and she has no teeth. She’s a mellow baby and must be getting enough to eat because she’s not fluttering, crying or being a velcro baby.

I must have watched this 10x But tonight I smoked a little something and I saw a whole different story! This is so amazing to watch. That lil Tia is a rockstar. So strong and smart already. She just can't get her arms to do what she wants LOL But wow she can climb the trees pretty good. Her eyes are so bright and her cute tiny pink nose. That flappy butt and shes such a lil chonk. It's cuteness overload! You know why her nose is all pink? From all the nursing she does! Tara feeds her. You only see what the VOs want you to see. No doubt Tara can be a hard azz and lose her cool. She needs anger management for sure LOL But she loves Tia She just doesn't know how to discipline without violence . I know some people like that. Anyway, love Tia so much

Milk bar training starts long before actual weaning. Remember, the babies are fed all night up in the trees. Daytime is for monkey mamas to eat, groom, rest and replenish their milk supply.
Have you watched them nurse 'all night long'?? I get it.... she (mom) doesnt want the burden of nursing a baby for 2 months let alone 9 months to a year. These mothers are selfish, lazy "mothers" and think that since they are 50 times as big as their babies, they somehow have the right to deny the babies what they need MILK. It isn't the babes fault they're born. If all the males were sterilized that would put a stop to all the new births.

Tara is selfish and not concerned about her newborn which is clearly hungry and very stressed. Tara has a funny little mark on the lower middle section of her bottom lip that helps distinguish her from the others...Tia also knows her mother and goes specifically to her and each time (throughout 95% of the video), is denied the chance to nurse..Tara's mamaries are FULL from NOT nursing Tia is weak and shakey from hunger... it's very obvious.
That’s not at all true, and as you see she is learning very fast how to forage by not hanging on the nipple nonstop 24/7. Although she may not be old enough to eat anything and it is in fact very essential for her to continue to nurse, they need to learn at an early age because it will come in handy as soon as they are old enough to be weaned. Being a infant wild macaque isn’t just about nursing nonstop 24/7, it’s also about playing, exploring and of course socializing with other infants it’s age. Being attached to the nipple constantly will not allow for any of those valuable skills that each and every single infant needs to learn in order to be able to survive!! Remember they aren’t like humans nor do they behave anything like us, it’s not like a human child waiting to they reach a certain age to be able to start school so they can start learning. As soon as those infants are born, their mothers have to start teaching them survival skills, they have to also understand the rules that are set in their different troops, because one ☝️ wrong move can indeed get them killed. Wild macaques don’t have cognitive abilities, so therefore they aren’t able to think rationally and logically, they are born with natural instincts and if they don’t know how to use those natural instincts then they won’t make it to adulthood. Education can be your best friend and it will definitely give you a much better understanding!! 😊

Tia is a little cutie but the mom is mean, not very nurturing at all. I can see limiting an older baby but Tia is only a few days old. Her stomach is so small she needs to nurse often. The mom definitely hasn’t missed any meals, over feeds herself, need to put a drop cloth over Tia when mom is eating. Just leaves Tia in the tree without much supervision. Not a great mom at all.
Those older moms are hands on they know when to feed their babies, and they won't keep their babies on the reat 24/7 you see the size of the mom and size of tia the mom knows exactly what see is doing

I have a question for any longtime viewers, I’ve only been watching for a year, but someone the other day, said they’d been watching these channels since 2013! I know a lot of these monkeys, but compared to some people, I guess I’m still a newbie 😂 and I’m not sure of all their rankings in the troops. I read a study that the high ranking females mainly have female offspring, and the lower ranking females mainly have males (it’s a bit complicated, but it’s something to do with the composition of their milk, it’s different depending on the sex of the baby)….for those that have been watching a while, does this seem to line up? I think Tara is high ranking(?), and I know she’s had quite a few babies at this point. How accurate do you think the study is? Thanks in advance for any answers, I’m just curious, because I know for example that Casi was higher ranking than her sister, and she had Celine and her sister had Calvin….but I’ve not been watching long enough to know about the sex of previous babies. I’d love to know how accurate it really is.
Everyone is praising the mom, but the poor baby is constantly struggling to feed because Mom keeps pushing her baby away. I know they do it sometimes, but this seems excessive. I feel bad for the previous little one.
