- All modern ATVs use CV shafts in one form or another, this Yamaha 660 Grizzly has a total of ten! They are easily torn, and if left un checked will ruin the CV joint. They are not hard to replace, as you will see.
Thanks for watchin' Don't miss Parts 1 and 2

Excellent work! I just watched all three parts. You covered virtually every step of the process - from start to finish - and I love the cautionary notes regarding greasy boot contacts and axle rotation when installing the clips. Now I feel ready to tackle the job on my Hisun 500 ATV. Thank you!
Ray: thank you so much for your videos. I could not have done this job without them.
Best ATV CV Boot Replacement Instructional Vid on the Web...Period. Thank you for showing and giving me confidence to attempt this procedure on my own Rubicon. Will save lots of money.
Ray, You are totally awesome! Best RUclips video I've ever watched. Great tips that you also add about the wheel rotation. Lot of people wouldn't think of that. In fact I didn't. I wished you lived closer. I'd have you do my work. Not that I can't do it myself. Just that you're such a great guy. I think you deserve it.
This is the only video, parts 1,2,3 that helped me with my problem. Great video!!!
D-Ray....your are the man!
I have never done a cv boot replacement or re pack and your 3 part video was excellent and helped me step by step replace a torn boot on my grizzly 700.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and my project was a total success!
All the best,
TalSpokane Wa
My job is completed. Couldn't have done it without your well done, 3-part series! Took me 2 afternoons, but I got a lot of satisfaction. My Honda TRX350 Fourtrax was just a little different, but the axles and boots were the same and your clear video allowed me to see some details (ball joint/bearings) that came in real handy. Can't thank you enough!
DeRay is a good teacher . thank you for making it simple for me on changing the shaft boot on my grizzly.
Outstanding! Wish all DIY videos were this good!
Top notch instructor. Best Tuturial I've seen on this ATV CV Boot replacement. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
My gosh. Why don’t everyone make a video like yours. Didn’t see a “10” thumbs up button or I would’ve clicked it. From start to finish n everything in between. Awesome video. Highly recommend you. Thanx so much.
Great video ! My 1999 Kodiak thanks you for teaching me this skill. The installation was flawless thanks to you !

D-Ray i know it's been several yrs since u posted this but i just watched it and i gotta tell you, it's really nice being able to "you-tube" these kinds of projects before you tackle them. Just wanted to let you know that there's a lot of us DIY's out there that rely on these kinds of videos from time to time, and i just personally wanted to thank you for taking the time to post it. It was informative, thorough, and good quality!!
These three videos were the best I have ever seen. Awesome camera work and the explanations were spot on. Nice work.
Excellent lighting, excellent camera, excellent clear voice, excellent, informative repair video, and the music did not interfere with this old farts ability to understanding every word. A +++++ !
Excellent step-by-step description and illustration. Now I can get up enough nerve to tackle this myself.

Hey D-Ray, great video, I noticed you didn't torque anything. On my 2003 Honda Rincon, it has torque specs to follow. I guess I'll look those up and incorporate it into my repair. All in all, great video, you made it look so easy I'm gonna go do this myself and save a few hundred bucks on labor not having to take this to Honda to do it ! :) Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video for all of us. Shooda been a teacher.... Nice job with good details Thanks!
Great video!! Super easy to understand & follow along! Thanks
D-Ray, your step-by-step is excellent. The shaft snapped solidly into place as at start of part 3, and it wouldn't come out when yanked, but after 10 minutes of driving (in 2-wheel), the shaft worked its way out of the differential. This happened 3 times now. We made sure that the spring-steel ring on the end looked good (wasn't worn-looking or damaged) and was spread enough to engage when inserted. Any ideas on what we need to do to keep it in? Thank you!
Thanks for the movie, it helpt a lot. I'm from the Netherlands and heir are not many 660 left.
