    Very impressed that you manage to break down the last part of the solo.( The fast part)Cause it's sounds very mushy on the original recording do to excessive use of delay and reverb. But then again it was done in 1978. I wish I had access to your teachings on RUclips 35 years ago when
    I was a Teenager.
    Great work.

      Thanks you're very kind to me;)! To be completely accurate, I learned the fast part from the Starlicks video and it's what I play here. A couple months ago I listened back to the guitar solo from the studio version and I think that there are some differences. Now I know that the Starlicks video lesson is not really accurate (even the solos in Rosanna are played differently, if you watch my video on that song I play the right parts from the record except the tapping part on the fade out at the end) but the fast part in this solo works and for me there's no real need to change it now that I can play it:)

    Hi!, great tutorial!. What are the note values for the fast run?. Sixteenth note triplets or Steve just plays that part as fast as he can?. I notice that when you play that part it has some rubato and then the runs starts to speed up, so the timing of the run floats. Am I right?

    Ciao Gioele.
    Grazie mille

      Ciao Roberto! Grazie mille:)! Allora premetto che uso il Kemper, qui sto usando il profilo di una Suhr PT100 che si trova gratis sul sito del Kemper ed una cassa Marshall 1960 di Till Schleicher già presente nel Kemper.
      Per quanto riguarda gli effetti ecco qui:
      Chitarra --> Kemper (Noise Gate --> Ampli --> Cassa --> Eq parametrico --> Delay --> Reverb)
      Il delay è un semplice digital delay ping pong (qui l'avevo scurito un po' troppo, adesso lo tengo un po' più brillante) e il riverbero è talmente basso che potrei anche toglierlo, (una hall al 4-5%). Spero che possa essere d'aiuto:)

    • @doczero
      @doczero 4 года назад

      @@gioelevio1626 Grazie mille Gioele. Ultime due domande.
      Come hai impostato il delay?
      Poiché sono di Mestre non mi dispiacerebbe assistere ad una vostra esibizione. Quando è previsto il prossimo concerto?

    • @gioelevio1626
      @gioelevio1626  4 года назад

      @@doczero Mi piace il delay stereo quarto + ottavo puntato perché il tempo risulta un po' meno ovvio (rispetto a quarto + ottavo), il mix di solito è bello generoso, ma dipende da quanto scurisci il delay, adesso tengo l'HiCut a 3500 Hz circa. L'idea è che uso il delay al posto del riverbero così non sacrifico l'attacco della nota. Suona un po' esagerato se suoni da solo ma in un contesto di gruppo conferisce spazialità e presenza.
      Adesso non abbiamo concerti in programma a breve ma se vuoi restare informato puoi seguirci sulla nostra pagina Facebook, tra poco esce il nostro nuovo album! Ti lascio il link alla pagina:) facebook.com/GroundZeroRockBand/

    Great vibrato bro!! Steve Lukather isn’t afraid to jerk a note. I’m not either !! So many guitarist act like they’re afraid to bend a note and don’t know the importance of a strong vibrato. I think Vibrato is one of the MOST ,if not the most important aspects of lead playing period. Great job my friend !!
    Without great vibrato, solos are emotionless and bland no matter how clean and fast a player you are. Steve Lukather, John Sykes, Steve Vai, George Lynch, all incredible vibrato players. Without it they’d be average.

    • @gioelevio1626
      @gioelevio1626  4 года назад

      Thanks man😊! I agree vibrato is really important! And it’s a hard thing to teach. There are some players that use a bit less vibrato and sound really cool, like Plini, but I guess he uses it at the right times.

    • @Plowguitarist
      @Plowguitarist 4 года назад

      Agreed, Marty Friedman has instruction on the subject, and emphasizes the importance of not being repetitious with it, different techniques and such.
      For me it was definitely a developed skill that only strength, ear development and experience can teach. You can show the techniques, but you can’t develop it, only the player can do that him or herself. Like the lick breakdowns in your video. Great job on that btw, but individually and slow, they have no life or feeling in them, but are spot on each note.
      But when played all together, and clean and practiced, they come alive if the player can express the feeling in it.
      Experience 😎. Importance of practice practice practice and then practice some more.
      Take care my friend 🤘
