Guitar is sick! love it really! Solo it's pretty nice, way to teach it's perfect to me, i don't care and i don't like tabs or so, i just want to see how the hell to do it in slow, that's all i need! Subed!
Very impressed that you manage to break down the last part of the solo.( The fast part)Cause it's sounds very mushy on the original recording do to excessive use of delay and reverb. But then again it was done in 1978. I wish I had access to your teachings on RUclips 35 years ago when I was a Teenager. Great work.
Thanks you're very kind to me;)! To be completely accurate, I learned the fast part from the Starlicks video and it's what I play here. A couple months ago I listened back to the guitar solo from the studio version and I think that there are some differences. Now I know that the Starlicks video lesson is not really accurate (even the solos in Rosanna are played differently, if you watch my video on that song I play the right parts from the record except the tapping part on the fade out at the end) but the fast part in this solo works and for me there's no real need to change it now that I can play it:)
Hey Jeremy thanks for the comment:)! For this kind of fast stuff I really try to get a good grip on the movement at super low speed, if the movement is REALLY clear when I play slow then it shouldn't be a big deal when I play fast:). This is how it usually works for me;)!!
Hi!, great tutorial!. What are the note values for the fast run?. Sixteenth note triplets or Steve just plays that part as fast as he can?. I notice that when you play that part it has some rubato and then the runs starts to speed up, so the timing of the run floats. Am I right?
Ciao Gioele. Grazie mille
Ciao Roberto! Grazie mille:)!
@@gioelevio1626 Grazie mille Gioele.
Thanks man;)! I don't know, it depends on the time you can put into it. I need to play this kind of stuff really slow and when it sounds good in slow motion it's ok to speed it up!
Great vibrato bro!! Steve Lukather isn’t afraid to jerk a note. I’m not either !! So many guitarist act like they’re afraid to bend a note and don’t know the importance of a strong vibrato. I think Vibrato is one of the MOST ,if not the most important aspects of lead playing period. Great job my friend !! Without great vibrato, solos are emotionless and bland no matter how clean and fast a player you are. Steve Lukather, John Sykes, Steve Vai, George Lynch, all incredible vibrato players. Without it they’d be average.
Thanks man😊! I agree vibrato is really important! And it’s a hard thing to teach. There are some players that use a bit less vibrato and sound really cool, like Plini, but I guess he uses it at the right times.
Agreed, Marty Friedman has instruction on the subject, and emphasizes the importance of not being repetitious with it, different techniques and such. For me it was definitely a developed skill that only strength, ear development and experience can teach. You can show the techniques, but you can’t develop it, only the player can do that him or herself. Like the lick breakdowns in your video. Great job on that btw, but individually and slow, they have no life or feeling in them, but are spot on each note. But when played all together, and clean and practiced, they come alive if the player can express the feeling in it. Experience 😎. Importance of practice practice practice and then practice some more. Take care my friend 🤘
No man, but you should be in good shape just watching the video;)! If needed you can slow down the lesson even more by changing the video speed in the settings. Have fun;)!
Thanks man;)! I don't have tabs for this solo yet, at this moment I have only tabs for the Georgy Porgy solo... I know that's a different song but if you're interested:)... I'll paste here the same thing I wrote to the guys that asked for the Georgy Porgy tabs:)!

Female/male but mostly female don't do much in bands but sing a lot of male covers and shake their stuff because they can't handle female vocals. To my opinion only RUclips.
Fantastic lesson! Love the way you break it up into easier to learn chunks.

Thanks ;)! I don't know it's just there...

Cool tutourial. I hate when online teacher shows song like that.... and i gonna play 14 th fret then im gonna pull of 17th to 15th then i gonna...

Very cool video, you're awesome. Btw, what is the gauge of your strings?
Thanks a lot Jean:)! On this guitar I use 9 to 42, 10 to 46 on LPs:)
I really wanna learn the solo, but those 2 step bendings always make me shiver. Those are string breakers. 🤣

Off the solo thing, your singer ruins everything, hope was just having a bad day. If not, you should consider replacing her.
Uroš Lazović honestly I desagree with this point, she’s no longer with us but I liked her singing. I’m not saying that you have to like her but I did😊
