  • So I propagated my pink princess, to try to get pinker leave and this is a video where I take you along the journey. It has been one month so far, and now it's time to check up on the roots to see how the cuttings are doing.

    Great video amigo! Haven't used coco peat as a propagation method pero te lo juro, water and perlite does wonders. Please experiment with a future cutting from the base plants as they will quickly grow bigger. In two weeks with perlite and water you will have 5x the roots as demonstrated in this video. Though I truly understand wanted to be safe than sorry, going by your proven method. But now with this experience under your belt...let's go higher 🎢 I think I am addicted to chopping my pink princess. Each time the leaves are bigger and with more pink. Pura Vida!

      Thank youuu. I need to try that!! I will wait for winter to pass (its very cold here now). I'll even make another video, but not of pink princess, I have some other cool ones I want to propagate still. Your support means alot.

      I’m in the process of trying to figure out the best way to propagate my 5 foot princess. How many leaves would you say is too many for a cut? I know the bigger the leaves the more energy it takes.

      @myrnaguerrero2694 wow, 5 feet! Have never attempted such a cut.
      If in my garden at 5 ft, I would cut top and root top cutting with three or four leaves. Depends on how big the leaves are. If extremely big, may want to do two leaf cuttings.
      Best of Gardening to you ✂️

    Recommendations on grow lights. That are local and affordable? For South Africans.

      It's hard to find good local grow lights, I got mine off Amazon UK, it cost a bit more to get them here but they really make a difference 😊

      I'm planning a quick video on this to be honest, I almost burnt down my house 😂 the lights from the US don't work with our voltage. We'll they do but the get really hot, and eventually burn out

    Honestly with pink princess, price does matter as the ones with better ratio of variegation to green will command higher prices. It's genetics really, so it's tough to have those aesthetically pleasing ratio if the plant itself doesn't have that

      Agreed, looking back I should have just opted for a better grade one. Yeah now I just have a bunch of maroon philodendrons lol

      Whaaat, you think so? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I feel like they take me forever! Do you put anything in the water?

    • @yelyahhayley123
      @yelyahhayley123 4 месяца назад

      @@poeticplants no and I am super forgetful and never change the water either lmaoooo. I wait until they get decent roots and switch them to soil. Sometimes I leave them forever and they take over the water container. I never water soil props enough and they just wither away and die.

    I don’t see any pink variegation in your stem, so you wont get any pink in your leaves.

      For the most part, but every now and then they push out some pink 😁 but still an underwhelming amount
