    I just bought one in white, last Friday 7th June 2024. I p/x my 2018 CRF1000L Africa Twin. I just fancied something a bit easier to manage. I have only done 200 miles so far, but loving the Transalp.❤ My bike came with the plus pack, i.e., hand gaurds,, heated grips, quickshifter, tall screen, winglets, spotlights, all crash bars, bash plate, centre stand, 12v power socket, sun viser, top box, panniers.👍🏍

    Excellent detailed review!!You talked about everything someone will need to know.
    One minor,but big in my eyes,negative is honda not installing for one more time an extrernal temperature sensor..
    Proper handguards along with the engine guard will give the protection you need and save the extra weight of the crash bars.Although the problem is that if you want better lighting in order to install fog lights you need the crash bar.

      You make a good point. The Handguards are very important because they will be the first one touching the surface in case of a fall, they will take most of the impact shock, they need to be very strong.

    Also, while quick shifter is kinda a good thing, but DCT is so much better. Though, since Honda said their new e-clutch will be for fun bikes, I assume they meant Hornet and Transalp. Thus, they will get E-Clutch next year instead of DCT :(

    Nice and comprehensive video about the Transalp, I would like to receive more information about the quickshifter and its reliability. Secondly, regarding the lower engine guard, it turns out that it is made of aluminum with a thickness of 2.5 mm and in my humble opinion, this will not provide a solution for hitting rocks when riding off-road. I've already seen an article by: "Big Rock Moto" that came out with a KTM 890 with an oem shield and a stone cracked the bottom of the engine because the engine shield was 2.5 mm thick aluminum that really didn't respond and the guy had to call his wife to tow the motorcycle . After the oil light came on, because the oil leaked out.

      Hello, I'll try to make a review only about the quickshifter to see exactly how it works. Regarding the skidplate, its thickness it's from 2,8mm up depends on the part of the skidplate for example on the brackets has even 3,4mm...on the bottom it's 3mm. We'll test its endurance and we'll see. The Sw-Motech has 4mm it's more reliable I suppose, but need to check if it fits the rest of the OEM parts, they haven't said that. The skidplate also covers the oil reservoir perfectly. Check out my Walkaround videos for more details. Have you saw the skidplate yourself and touched it? Greetings 👍

    It's a shame there is no cruise control or I would have bought one ... already rode a demo bike. I like the retro white colour too!
    I believe the fuel gauge doesn't show mileage / range remaining. Is this true ?
    Also a silly " throttle angle" meter of no use ?

    I think youd need to upgrade the springs if you olan on touring and adding paniers tents sleeping bags etc.
    Im trying to decide between Yamaha Tenere World Raid and the Transalp.

      If you travel light no spring upgrade it's necessary. If you put tones of luggage, top case, hard panniers, etc....My purpuse is to be as light as possible.

      @@IdealBike Once you take in ky weight Spring upgrade is the only option.
      I'd be doing the same with the Tenere of I bought that too.
      Although the Tenere world raid already has beefed up suspension.

      Haven't test it this OEM but I've replaced and tested the Hepco&Becker bars they did a great job to protect. I've changed the Handguards with Acerbis. Videos on my channel greetings 👍

    We test ride Transalp here in Australia tomorrow. So far I'm leaning towards the DR800 because it handles beautifully and maintenance appears relatively easy. We have always been Honda people though, this is why we have left Transalp until last to try. Can you please tell us if you have removed the fuel tank - access to airbox is a critical point for us?? If so, how difficult was it to do, and were there any pressure points in the process ... or weak plastic tabs subject to damage?? Were you able to visualise the spark plugs during the process?? For some reason this information is IMPOSSIBLE to get anwhere, so we must rely on owners with a similar interest to share ...

      Hello, I can understand your concern. So far I've only removed the side fenders, the procedure it's easy and the plastics are very resistant, with soap and water to prevent breaking they are easy to remove. As a comparison the side fenders for Transalp are 650 EUR each vs V-strom 800 DE they cost only 90 EUR. Regarding the air filter they told me from the dealer that it's situated under the tank, so far I haven't been able to have acces to any maintenance manual but I will share it as soon as possible. Spark plugs, valve clearance also not as easy... But let's wait for the final answer from the dealer I'll do my best to find out more infos. Greetings

    When you say you had in lower power mode. As far as I know one always has full power. It only changes how much throttle you need to open to get the same power.

      Not really, low power (1 our of 4 setting) it's really lower, when I switch up to maximum power it's a change

    Ma mira faptul ca absolut nimeni nu spune nimic despre zgomotul ciudat (fluerat de rulment uzat) care vine de la roate spate (cred).
    La inceput am crezut ca am eu o problema tehnica...dar se pare ca toate au acest zgomot.
    Amea are...si am mai facut testdrive cu inca doua, si aceeas problema.
    Fac precizarea ca zgomotul se aude doar intre 105 si 120.
    Stii ceva despre???

      Salut. Nu am observat acest zgomot momentan, voi monitoriza. La vechea motocicleta NC750X făcea așa după ce s-a uzat rulmentul spate.

    Do you have issue with loud buzzing of the bike at 3.8-4.3k RPMs? I've had my test/demo ride of Transalp on Thu. And it would make a lot of noise at those RPMs. It feels as if all those plastics, crash bars or something are not attached and they just buzzing into each other, it becomes loud. Each time I start hearing loud buzzing noise, I would look at the dash and the bike is in this range. The moment you are out of that RPMs range, bike becomes silent again. And I'm not talking about feeling vibrations, I'm talking about hearing them loudly. I guess they so loud, that overrides any feeling of vibrations I would have.
    I also think I saw someone else comment before about Transalp and he said exact same thing about 4k RPM mark. Thus, I'm now wondering if they all this bad and if it gets better with time?

    Now ive seen the Transalp in the flesh its confirmed i like the 500x over it. I would just live with the 47hp. The bike looks much better and is much easier to move around and generally handle in every day use. Its also cheaper and a tax band lower in the uk. Not £111 like the transalp.

      I feel the same about the cb500x looks. To me it looks much better. Especially with the skidplate the transalp looks too much like a nt1100 and thats not a compliment.

    I don't get the argument that cruise control only for highway. My understanding of cruise control is to be able not only rest left hand but also right. My right arm gets tired, and if I travel every day or every other day (how it happens on my trips), then even on the new day after 1-2h of riding even with breaks every hour the arm is uncomfortable, not to mention we have rain or days where we don't want to stop every hour, but only every 2-3h. At the end of the day I even feel it in my shoulder and my back, nothing to do with the wrist though. I'm also well built 183cm, 85kg, 11% fat, providing this to make a point I'm not weak and weak muscles isn't the reason. And no, my arm doesn't get used to it. (Had 30 day trip in Europe just a few weeks ago, and all that time was not enough for an arm to not be hurting. I actually rode NC750X with DCT, what a great bike, but lacks tiny bit of oomf when wanting to overtake)
    Even 2-5 minutes rest with CC on a stretch of straight road (I never ride highways) would be so useful and all that's needed to avoid discomfort! Plus CC is cheap like 300-400£, and my hand is worth it.

    Thanks for sharing your review. I had a test ride today and I enjoyed it. Plenty of fun and great handling. Does it have an oil indicator? And spring preload adjuster as a knob for rear suspension? I couldn’t find it. By the way, This Yamaha is familiar 😀 Yeduv Magadan

    What is the weight of this Honda skidplate and the bottom crashbar? Wonder if others make them lighter

      The complete Rally Pack (skidplate, engine guards, quickshifter, handguards, Footpegs) it's 10 Kg. The crash Bar (tank guard) had 2,5 Kg about

      As long as the standard screen it's perfectly comfortable at 150 Km/h speed at my height (1,81m) I don't consider to try it yet. Also I need more visibility on the off-road. Greetings!

    have you noticed vibration at 3800-4100 at handlebars and footpegs?

      No vibrations on the handlebars, regarding the footpegs consider that I am using the rally pegs (without rubber on) that virates a little not much.

      You feel more connected to your bike, the vibrations are there but they are liniar, progresive somehow not bothering you. If you are using the stock Footpegs no issues, with the Rally ones I'm speaking about.

    Uggg, A quick shifter and other electronics to do things for the rider makes it a scooter not a motorcycle.
    Real riders shift, brake, turn the throttle and steer.

    Nice video Man. You can turn off ABS completely off by removing its fuse under the seat. I am interested also for Acerbis Hand guards. Upload a video if you decide to change the OEM ones.

      The air filter it's under the petrol tank 100% The tank needs to be removed in order to change it. Cruise control it's not for me, but it is so requested from many others. greetings!

      @@IdealBike can't remember sorry but it's ride by wire already so most likely just a matter of turning the function on at a dealership. Manufacturers are very good at drip feeding updates.

      @@13KaTaFaLK13 The front now I have it at 10/15 and the rear at 4/7. I can say that the rear it's PERFECT for my weight of 85 Kg (equipment weight included) but the front it is still soft, I am waiting to test it one more time on off-road than re-adjust it one more time
