    I think your the one i saw put a plastic bottle on a tree branch with dirt to get a new start. Anyway I'm trying it. Put some on my roses this spring. I don't know if it's rooting cuz i don't want to hurt new roots if it is. The bush doesn't seem to know its there so that's a good sign. I'm going to let them stay tell next early summer. It doesn't usually freeze long and hard hear and I'd like to get the early spring wake up for good growth. I'm existed hope it works. My mom planted this yard and I'll be saling the house next year so i would like to take start's with me.

    Nice Video! Do you have experience with propagation of Cornus mas? Which propagation methods do you suggest for Cornus mas?

    I assume the wood properties are the same as per other Cornus? Very neat tree.

    Do you have any tips on starting new blue barries from 5 yr old bushes. I need a big barry patch. I only have 3 small bushes with good barry's. Now need to multiply them.

    Makes the best brandy. Take few leaves and rub them in your hands, than gently wipe your face with your hands and see what happens.

      I searched online a bunch and couldn't find anyone else discussing the wiping of leaves/oils on the face, what happens?

      @@paulyounger1190 I'm from Europe, Cornelians are wild and grow just about everywhere including backyards. You can only eat them when they are ripe, when the color turns from red to black. Leaves don't have oil, only pollens. Take few leaves in your hands and gently rub them between your hands until leaves are soft and fall apart, then slowly and gently slide your hands on your chicks. It's not painful, it's not bad either it's just not that pleasant, it's like a burning sensation on your chicks. When we were kids, we used to play surprise each other. If you don't feel any burning sensation, then it's a wrong tree. Also they make the best brandy, if you want to know how to make brandy let me know, I'll explain you step by step. We drink brandy only in the winter and it's not for faint of heart.

      So no…don’t rub them on your cheeks unless you are a five year old again and want to do things solely because you know your mother told you not to.

    How do you plant them? Would it grow in California? What season do you plant it?

    • @georgecarlin2656
      @georgecarlin2656 4 года назад

      They have a shallow root, so make sure to mulch after planting.
      If any California nursery sells it then yes.
      Pretty much any season except in a hot Summer because they love semi-shade.
