    I have a 315 without gps. I have a 1/4 acre lot with a front and back yard. Been running it for 3 years. love it. Still running on the original battery. Buy what you want but, mine does fine. I have a hole in the fence where the guide wire takes it into the front yard. My yard is flat and not a lot of stuff to mow around. It is worth the money just to watch people stop in their car on the street to watch it mow. I'll never have another gas mower.

      @EshlemaniaTV  5 лет назад +2

      Good to hear! The 315 isn't a bad mower at all. These days people tend to price shop more than shopping for the job they need to do. People will tend to lean towards the 315 or other 300 series models based on price and when it can't perform as well as they expected it to in conditions it wasn't meant for, they want to blame the machine rather than themselves. Sounds like in your case the 315 was the right tool for the job and you can verify that it works great in the conditions it was designed to handle.

      @Scott Dee If you seen one for that much money BUY IT! Thats unheard of, careful as Amazon has a bunch mislabeled and some without installation items included. Ordered mine through Lowes a month ago and still waiting on it to get installed.

    • @EshlemaniaTV
      @EshlemaniaTV  5 лет назад +2

      We've actually done a few installs for Lowes. Installation has been an issue with Automowers. Not the products fault though. It's usually that dealers want ridiculous prices for installation, or like in your case they can't find someone willing to do it in a timely manner. Send us an email to AutomowerGuy@Gmail.com and we'll see if we can help ya out .

      My garden is 2,5x bigger, and I'm wondering what is a best option : 2 "small" robot with 1200m2 for each ... Or the big one 430x for all 🤔

      @Scott Dee novelty? ;-) husky has been making them for 25 years :-)
      It bounces around "randomly" but it gets the job done. It's meant to run some so it tops of some grass but you won't see any grass clippings behind.
      If the neighbors have open windows and are max 10 meters away they may hear something but with closed windows it won't be hearable.

    Good video, one critique. A lot of your reasons for buying a 430 over a 315 aren't compelling to the person with a smaller (0.5 or less) acre lot. I dont care how many charges it takes, or how long its in my yard cutting. Its a robot. As long as it works, I don't care. The best reason to get a 430x over a 315x, is that once you're in about $2000 land for a robot mower and another couple hundred for a pro install for guide wires (face it, if you're too lazy to mow your yard, you're too lazy to put in a guide wire) is that the price difference is only about $500. Frankly, its a price difference that approaches the sales tax on the unit (if you have to pay it). It seems that for about a 20% premium over the 315x, you get a more robust machine. That's worth it. If the 430 was $1000 more or if there was no 430 and the next option up was the 450 at $3300, yard size would be the reason for upgrading.

      I have a 430X at my parents house. There is no problem for it to run 24/7 if needed. But some people want the mower to not be on the lawn too much (kids, pets, whatever). Then a higher end model is suitable as it will maintain the lawn with less hours on the grass (and especially pitstops for charging).

    Good info. How lumpy can the lawn surface be before it affects the cutting? I have used my lawn tractor, and because I pretty much have to do the same pattern it has become a little rutted. Not too severe. That plus the fact that over time the lawn surface has become lumpy due to frost.

      Not yet got mine installed but I have looked into it as there are areas of lawn I want to exclude purely whilst the daffodils are up. You just lay a loop wire round the bit you want to exclude such as your boggy area and tee it to the perimeter wire via a switch on a wall or post. The loop can be done as an island or just a reroute of the perimeter. Not that Husqvarna do it but with a bit of ingenuity you could even get something smart like a moisture detector to throw the switch (relay) only when wet.
      PS On reflection the smart option would need to ensure the machine was not in the closed off area at activation otherwise you would trap the machine in it!

    when I equip a 420 with the GPS module, this is about 400 euro cheaper. Is the husqvarna then also mowing with GPS assistance, or is this then only good for when it is stolen?

    • @EshlemaniaTV
      @EshlemaniaTV  4 года назад

      On the X series models (315X, 430X, 450X) they come with Automower Connect already installed and they have the GPS mowing feature.

    • @subwarpspeed
      @subwarpspeed 4 года назад +2

      Dirk, unless something changed in the last year (I've kind of lost touch), no it won't use the GPS for any assist when moving, it will only be for setting where it is, settings and alarms. That said, with a 2017 430X it isn't that smart. It just automatically decides where to start mowing and the navigation places virtual "barriers" so it can keep to one area. If installed and fine tuned well (may take some tweaking), a non X model (or X with GPS guidance disabled) can probably archive close to the same result.
      The mower does its job but I think the GPS navigation is underused. Like when it needs to go and charge - no navigation assist is used. It will totally run away opposite way from a guide wire. One would have hoped it would learn where the guides are and try to aim for them.
      But it's my tech brain wanting optimized features - the mower manage the lawn and I never have to intervene unless it runs into a vole hole I hadn't refilled which it can't be blamed for.

    Hello to everyone,
    I see a lot of comments having a lot of pros, but i cannot see any info about how much time it takes to finish 500 or 1000 square meters. That info would help for having an idea on how often has to start.
    At this moment i am using a normal lawn mower of ~ 50 cm wide and i want to decide whether i have to buy the TC138 or i can save my time by buying the automower 430X.
    Thanks!

    • @subwarpspeed
      @subwarpspeed 4 года назад

      Maybe you have already choosen a year later but for anyone else looking back: the automower never "finishes" to cut. The stated area is how much it can maintain. It doesn't do everything in one go. The stated area is if the mower can have it's maximum time (most models it means 24h/7d). But how complex the area is and how much the grass grows (condition and season dependent). If you only can allow it to run 6 hours per day no exceptions then you might want to start dividing the stated area in 4 because it will only have the chance utilize around 1/4 of the time of the day.

    • @EshlemaniaTV
      @EshlemaniaTV  5 лет назад +2

      Guide wires help the mower get back to the charging station faster. Also gives you the option to switch back and forth between GPS mowing and having set up zones if one area needs more attention than it's getting by using GPS.

    Twice the battery capacity would make it handle a bigger yard.

    • @EshlemaniaTV
      @EshlemaniaTV  3 года назад

      You could physically install a battery in that other spot because it is the same battery cradle and main board used in the 450X and 550 which both use 2 batteries. BUT the mower's main board will not recognize the second one and allow it to be used.

    @filalleva6231 5 лет назад +4

    I have a 1200 sqft lawn at a vacation rental home. The locals want a 12 month contract at 250/month to maintain this postage stamp lawn. A robot seems like the perfect solution and the 315X seems like the right choice. The lawn is mostly flat. The 430X seems like overkill.

    • @EshlemaniaTV
      @EshlemaniaTV  5 лет назад +3

      WOW! At those prices they're charging the 315X is a great option. Just one year at those rates would pay for a 315X or 430X. Honestly, at those prices you might want to think about buying a few Automowers and selling or leasing them to other people in that area. With a multiple unit discount and a 0% interest option and if you purchase them through the right dealer that can help you with tech support, you could start a pretty profitable business there.

    We have a horseshoe driveway with lawn inside and outside of the horseshoe. Can the 315x be programmed to cross the driveway without "mowing" the entire driveway?

    • @EshlemaniaTV
      @EshlemaniaTV  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, it can be set up to do that. BUT you would most likely want to use a guide wire to get it to the island and since you only have one guide wire with a 315X you would be limited on how well you could cover other parts of the working area. This is where the 430X would be a more suitable unit compared to the 315X because the 430X can use 2 guide wires.

    • @marquisdemoo1792
      @marquisdemoo1792 5 лет назад +1

      @@EshlemaniaTV My understanding is that to cross the drive it would need the guide wire and corridor made with the perimeter wires, hence 3 wires across the drive. Furthermore how do you prevent it mowing whilst crossing the drive if it is gravel like mine?

    • @subwarpspeed
      @subwarpspeed 4 года назад

      You can't prevent it from mowing when crossing (it could find the corridor on it's on while mowing).
      But it is no problem because of another fact: the blades and disc doesn't create any upwards wind flow like a regular lawn mower. So it won't damage blades on stones unless you have it set so low and loose ground that it sinks down in it.

    There is one reason not to get the 430X. Size. If you have some narrow pathways, and your lawn is small enough to comfortably be cut by the 315X, then it makes no sense to get a 430X. In my case, the 315X barely fits between a fence and a flowerbed, but still manages to mow it.

    I think you're a bit confused. WHY would anyone care if one is faster? Or runs longer on a charge? IT DOESN"T MATTER IF IT CAN MOW ANYTIME.! The little one goes back, recharges, and finishes the job. YOU WON"T NOTICE A DIFFERENCE!
    Again, not sure why you think that bigger is better when in fact it will get stuck in more places. The extra guide wire connection would be a more significant factor, but the $1,000 (less on sale) WORX robot has 4 guide wire connections....

      In some places they can't mow ANYTIME. For example, we have several commercial sites and a few schools where they can only mow at night. With restrictions like that ground speed is important as well as how long it runs on a charge. We get about 4 hours of run time out of a charge on 430's compared to an hour or so out of a 315X. If the mower is limited on when it can run, then knowing that one of them is going to go back to the charging station nearly every hour for about an hour is some important information to have.
